BlowingWind the man started his site on GeoCities/Yahoo!

The site took its name from his favourite song - Bob Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind.

GeoCities / Yahoo!

Readers start posting in his “Yahoo! Guest Book” and that interactivity changed his website to a Interactive Bulletin Board (BB).

EzBoard

In late December 2000, Yahoo! shut down the Guest Book feature.

BW Bulletin Board moved to EzBoard Forum.

Postings quality deteriorated and readers left.

Forumer

In 2005, Lungker approached BlowingWind to revive the Bullettin Board.

OralB and HendryTan was brought in to jump-start the BB.

This is the era where Lungker, OralB and HendryTan posted heavily.

Temporary Relocation of Forum

We moved to Forumer phpBB for a short few days.

Real Move

We made the final move to IPB BB.

BlowingWind posted his welcome message to the new Forumer.

We wrote our first Posting Guidelines

Lungker wrote the following guidelines:

Birth of BW Home-based Massage List (HML)

BW started the “Places for Massage” Thread.

One of our most popular series, BW Home-based Massage List (HML) has helped many Gay-friendly Masseurs in their business.

Creation of Personal Forum

Started our Personal Folder.

It will become our 2nd most popular sub-forum.

Mods rallied the members and set our future direction:

- Decided to self Host in USA, Need to Pay
- Funding by Google Advertisements + Mod’s own top-up

Our first permanent home

Moved to our First "Low-Cost" hosting site in USA.

Setup the IRC chat software to link to #blowingwind.

Started community service ads for AFA and Oogachaga

Started selling banner ads for charity.

Up to Year 2010 - $ 2.3 K proceeds going to charity.

Beneficiaries include AFA, Oogachaga, and Kwang Wai Shiu Hospital.

Going Social

Upgraded BlowingWind Software to IPB 3.0.

Going Social with Profile pics, Twitter and Facebook.

Another move

Massive increase in readership - our hosting site could not cope and evicted us.

Moved to a high capacity host.

We celebrated our 500,000th post milestone on 19 March 2013.

The 500,000th post was made by Guest poster going by the name -Whisperer-.

BW Internet Blackout

Blowing Wind Forum joined the SG Internet 24-hour online blackout on June 6th, 2013 in protest of MDA's new internet censorship regulation.

We continued our support of Pink Dot by flying their banner and rallying our members for the 4th straight year.

Pink Dot reached a record turnout of 26,000.

Welcome Our New Moderators - Glyph And Amplify

For posterity, the team has been searching for new talent.

On 5th March, we welcomed the addition of two new moderators, Glyph and Amplify, to our small team of volunteers.

One millionth post

BW reached the milestone of a million post.

The honour of the 1,000,000 record goes to WorldAngel. His post on 8th March 2015, 15:30 on "Alcohol Substitute" crossed the millionth mark.

We held our 10th anniversary party on 11 July 2015, where many of our members shared their #bw10 experience.

Amplify and Glyph quickly made their presence felt by masterminding BW's 10th Anniversary Party.
