You Have done revision, not as much as you expected yourself to but you have done what you could, despite the difficulties you had. b. See your strengths. You have the intellect to continue learn, that's why you have reached JC2. You also know to seek help when needed c. Know your limits. Everyone wants to score well and revise work to perfection. Everyone has different abilities and capacity. If you cannot do 100%, how about 90%, 80%? Focus on the things you really don't understand or need to improve on. Get help. From experience, this is very helpful because even if u do 60%, it gives you motivation and you might reach more than 90% in the end rather than the state of worry and stress which gets you nowhere. d. Focus on now. It's cliche but true. There is only Now. Past is gone so don't think about what should have could have. The future not here yet, focus on this moment. Take a deep breath, 10 deep breaths if u need. Do what you can do now. 2. Other than psychologically building yourself up in point 1. There are practical things you can do about your revision: a. Prioritise Focus on the parts you really need work on and come back to the less important when you have extra time. b. Break it down Don't see it as this humongous task, it isn't one big thing. Break down into smaller achievable parts (10 pages each time? 1 chapter each time?) 3. Rest and Exercise No human body and mind can go full steam the whole time. Take pockets of time to destress. Power nap 15 min every 1 hour of study. Go for a walk, do some push ups, eat a fruit/chocolate etc. I wouldn't recommend destresses which involves screentime/porn. i think it just puts the mind in another kind of heightened state which is still not restful in a way. 4. Review Do this when you have time, which presumably you don't now. You need to rethink how you fell behind in the first place. What were the causes, or environmental reasons (not just your own ability). Is it not enough sleep/ rest, too high expectations, not enough happiness/variety in life so you procrastinate? Need to give yourself more motivation? Be honest with yourself so you can adjust your lifestyle to be a better person/student. 5. Fuck it Last but not least, the ironic thing is the only way to perform the best is not to want to perform the best. Studies and exams is only a part of life, not everything. Just do your best, but don't forget about other important things in life. 10 20 years down the road, you are not going to care what grades you got for JC but what experiences you have in your life you remember. By all means do your best, but do not be afraid if you don't score well. I have friends who didn't do well in JC and went on to retake, went other avenues of study or do other things more suited for them and have a good happier life/family despite the initial stumbles.
