Guest BEAUTY
It's truly a laugh a minute. The acting is so "superb" and the angst so "real". Why do so many gay movies have waver-thin plots and 2D characters? Surely our lives are more twisted?
malayguysg
One of the best gay theme movie other than Love of Siam. Nico and Dani (Krámpack)http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250478/Trailer here Dani is damn hot and his voice is so so cute! and don't worry they are 20 years old kid who are supposed to be 16 years old in the movie (and they do look 16).My heart breaks when Dani said this in one part of the movie"I like being with you more than with anyone else.""But it's shit, because you don't...""I know that...""It's shit..."Bring back all the bad memories for me
Guest thai thong
there is a part two to this short intro , if you click on the center of the clip, it will bring you to youtube, on the right hand side there are selections of different clips, so click on the part 2 with thai script, very interesting continuation as story develops. More angst and unrequited gay love , but at last there is fulfilment.

PaterTenebrarum
I kinda avoid Thai LGBT movies- they are usually too cutesy, too camp, too tragic and/or too melodramatic. Thai horror movies always have that twist in the end, which are usually quite predictable. Though I kinda like how Shutter throws some red herrings and some McGuffins along the way before the final reveal. But for every Shutter, there are crap Thai horror flicks that are too many to mention. But you know which Thai movies I like? Jan Dara! That retro-looking flick: Tears of the Black Tiger. Also OK Baytong. These three flicks were directed by Nonzee Nimibutr, if Im not mistaken. Edited July 7, 2011 by PaterTenebrarum

His encounters are planned and chance: with a homeless man who sleeps by his building, with a friend who's dying, with the couple who lives (and noisily loves) in the flat above him, with a bartender and a one-night-stand he follows home, and with a tattooed stranger whom he seeks out and befriends. Along the way, Charlie inhabits a city full of moments of violence and of stories and legends: a kidney thief, a microwaved poodle, a rat in a hot dog bun, a baby left on a car top, a tourist's toothbrush, needles in public-phone change slots. Charlie lives and tells his own stories. Jaded
The director is AJ too, so the tone is much more positive in this film. Other Vietnamese gay-theme movies all either made fun of gay people, pitied them, or worse, degraded them.
Guest Guest
one thing struck me when i watch the clip - the similarities of how we gaymen look and behave regardless of where we are, what our nationalities are... can i say this is ultimately, about being in the acme of health and beauty, about being in love. and so regardless where, who, what we are, the fit and healthy human body looks the same and on the same token, love between two persons is the same - the look of love, the feel of love, the behaviour of people in love. it is all the same!:-)
devo
Thank you so much, Denueve! So far, I've watched Amphetamine and From Beginning to End from your list. Both pretty good. Amphetamine was surprising to me as I didn't expect some nice script being written for a HK plu movie.Anyone knows if there's a download link for UK plu movie "Shank"? Thanks in advance. kid91
Looking forward to seeing this movie =]---------------A Vietnamese movie has been nominated to the Discovery category for outstanding works from promising filmmakers around the world at this month's Toronto International Film Festival in Canada."Hot boy nổi loạn và câu chuyện về thằng Cười, cô gái điếm và con vịt" by Vũ Ngọc Đãng will be screened at the festival under the title "Lost in Paradise."Giovanna Fulvi, the Asian cinema programmer for the festival, wrote on the festival's website: "Perhaps the first film from Vietnam to depict homosexual love both explicitly and in a positive light, Vũ Ngọc Đãng's 'Lost in Paradise' conveys its characters' lives in a remarkable range of tones, from the humorous to the absurd to the tragic."It opens our eyes to rarely glimpsed facets of contemporary Vietnam, and relays stories that are usually left untold."The 100-minute film, which narrates the story of Khoa, an innocent man who leaves his poor village for Sai Gon and falls in love with Lam, a male prostitute, has just been finished and is awaiting certification by the National Film Board for public screening in Vietnam. PaterTenebrarum
Seems rather cliched, really. I tend to avoid gay movies cos out of ten, nine are crap. But then Im a guy who dry retched at Brokeback Mountain and its utter sappiness. Foreign Talent
This movie "Lost in Paradise” will be launched at all local cinemas from October 14, 2011.Yeah ... I might wait for it to come to London at next year's Gay Film Festival - I really don't wanna have to watch a Singaporean-censored version.Mind you, I will be in Vietnam from the 20-27 Oct, do you know if they have English/French/Chinese subtitles for films in Vietnam? (They used to years ago, but I don't know if they bother anymore?) I can speak a little Tieng Viet, but there's no way I can understand a film like that without subtitles cos they speak soooooooo fast.
