That is quite pricy!  I would have thought Haadyai would be cheaper than Bangkok, but from the looks of it, Haadyai is more expensive.

As an Asian, didn't you try to bargain?

Asking for tips higher than the basic price shouid have rang all alarm bells. 

 

In fact, I rarely visit the gay massage but just the normal ones. There are plenty with hot men. Ask the phone numberand make an appointment at your hotel.

Depends on what you expect.

 

For the Chinese South East Asians it is a food heaven and has massage parlours every where.

But for Malays it is interesting also as the South has a Muslim community also.

There are night markets, shop alleys etc etc.

If you're staying longer can also do a hop on one day trip to one of the nice islands out of the Andaman sea.

 

But if you need big shopping Malls with the same outlets as everywhere or endless traffic jams such as at Bukit Bintang, Jakarta or Bangkok, then avoid Hat Yai.

 

I found the guys are quite accommodating also.

It also has two gay bars one with a sauna, if you go with a friend and want some drink at a gay place...

Hmm, I was under the wrong impression that the gay sauna had closed. 

Now that i know it is open, I may consider going there for a break.

Maybe chat with a local first to see. it used to have 2 sauna prior to Covid, not sure the last one is still operating.

 

It seemed still open on 15 April as they published something on Facebook.

 

I m talking of  Elysium. (but note they are only open from Thurs to Sunday 5.30pm to 11pm

HatYai.. oh wells its not a bad trip.. I went to their Elysium Sauna -250 Baht per person.. if you are looking for some fun why not?? They open from 6pm to 11pm …

As website opening hours now 6pm to 11 pm but close on Mon to Wed.

As nobody give review on Elysium Sauna in Hat Yai I made a trip myself... 

 

Here the review of Hat Yai: 

 

Hat Yai  (25 – 28 Jan 2025)

Elysium Sauna:

37/7-8  Sinbencharong Phatthana Road /   Sinbenjapolpatana Rd,

Note: address indicate on google map as  Sripoovanart Rd is wrong.

(Entry 130 Baht) 

Becoz of the opening days Thu to Sun had to visit the Elysium Sauna on my first day (Sunday) would be closed until Thursday. It’s a bit hidden. The actual place is behind the street. At the canal you need to walk around the building until you see the Flower Space 420 shop to the center open place. On the internet you find some maps to find direction to the place, the google map will show a building outside the main street but it is behind this building at the inside court yard. The sauna entrance is the one with the small tree bushes in front and some red light. There is a straight drinking bar next to it. As sauna closing already at 11pm went direct shortly after 6pm (opening time). At the ground floor must walk up stairs to cashier. Front cashier was very friendly (spoke English), Entry was 130 Baht, 1 small towel, one locker, 1 condom, 1 lub pack. (Bring a bigger towel, as towel provided is very small, bring more lub and condom). The place has 3 floors. Next to locker is a gym, there is a relax room with water or juice to drink, behind lockers are the shower. If you bring slipper be careful the floor tiles very slippery around the shower area. Next to the shower is a steam room. When I was inside, guys just sit and no action. Walk up another stairs for rooms and some labyrinth style maze. The labyrinth area is not super dark. The real dark maze are I only found much later. It is a bit hidden. Need to watch out and follow the guys to find the very dark maze in the center. The dark maze is quite dark. At the end got a gloryhole but during my time wasn't really used. Got a tv room playing porn near the door entrance to maze. The rooms got lights, tissue but no lub dispenser. At the end of the labyrinth got a door with a toilet sign but it has another 2 or 3 rooms without air-conditioning. Another floor level up is a huge roof garden. There is a bar on the 2nd floor but saw only few people having a drink, not sure if they serve food. Though being a Sunday after about 7.30pm place was quite packed. Majority was Thai, age range early 20s to 40s, all quite slim and body well maintained. Must be the small city because it had plenty of hot eye candy. Local guys were very friendly, but not everyone is into foreigners but they very nicely and gentle reject. Singaporean will sink in well, if you don’t talk, local may think you are Thai. Would say maybe 45 – 60 guys at the peak time (counted the locked lockers). Even if the guy note you are a foreigner, they will friendly chat with you. Dun be surprise being pull into a room. Some of the guys were Malaysian who seem to like to travel there. Had more fun than I expected and left very satisfied. Just the guys very nice and friendly and make the atmosphere pleasant. Left around 9.45/10pm. 

 

Food after fun:
Tip: some short walk away is a big night market (Jirakorn Night market/ Florida Market) if you are hungry after the play. Food is cheap, got everything from BBQ, burger, curry... snack n drinks. 

Cruising spots:
Hat Yai has some cruising areas (Toilet of Bus terminal 1 (near Asean night market) and the railway station. On the day I visit (Monday) railway station was quiet. Bus Terminal 2 is a bit far out, did not go. Might have other but the locals tight lip. 

M2M massage:
For exclusive male to male Spa, there is X2 Spa (Rajyindee Soi 5, Tambon Hat Yai, 0992904406) open 10am to midnight. (Not sure on Happy Ending but from ads at twitter will have depends on tips). I not try as already had massage somewhere else and location bit outside main city center. The online critic say, this place very clean. 
Other professional massage (m2m) can find at the stretch outside Centara Hotel or opposite Lee Garden Plaza Hotel. (Budsaba and Pailin has male masseur massage) Just look if male masseur sit outside the shop. While masseur took me to a secluded 2nd floor I did not ask for hanky-panky but I guess would do with tips as he rub sensitive area and because the masseur walked me to secluded place with nobody else around). Many tourist go after 6pm, got peak timing, better visit after 8.30pm or 2pm before 5pm (60 mins is 400 Baht, 90 mins 590 Baht).
Massage from Apps:
Otherwise got plenty of massage boy on the gay apps (Grindr and Hornet), recommend fix price before meet up also the time for treatment.

Gay bar: 
Buddy club is closed. The bar at Elysium is still there but did not see many guys sitting there, maybe the weekend (Fri/Sat) will have. 

Casual fun:
For the other casual fun guy just for meet on the apps a bit slower moving, Hat Yai is not a big city as BKK. Can also be the language barrier. Many cannot converse English. Hat Yai usually also has a bulk of guy from Malaysia driving over from the close Malaysia states, even some from KL (probably to find more privacy in fun with guy) and a few Caucasian or other tourist who pass by coming or going to islands or other parts. If not so many Thai boy contact you, from my experience on this trip, you won’t go home empty hand. 

Food
For Thai food lover I recommend Jae Lek Restaurant (190/3-4 Nipatuthit 2 Road), food was great, Tom Yum spicy but delicious and original local food, round up the trip with good Thai food… In city center got also but cater often to Caucasian taste less spicy.  If not everywhere got Street food and small Chinese stalls.
