Guest Guest
2 asian powerhouses Hong Kong and Singapore were tested this week. The once peacefull cities were rocked by events that disrupted daily lives and safety. Thousands of elderly Singaporeans were seen gathering islandwide for hours, they must be so tired, somemore no food were seen distributed. Hong Kong has seen its airport swamped with protestors! What is happening to Asia? Is this the degining of the end for Asia? I am giving my expert opinions on world affairs and politics to readers of blowing wind. My wise words are sorted and appreciated for my honest, unbiased and detailed analyst.

Each of the 27 stores only had 30 sets max each and to make things worse, each customer is entitled to 2 sets each. 8 hours ago, lonelyglobe said: Perhaps some of them are just trying to make a living, buy at 54 and sell at 154, original is 198....better than standing outside mrt and sell tissue paper.... Hopefully your expertise in world affairs that correctly identified a beginning of the end for Asia will not materialize. As you know, cellphones originally come from America. It is so sad to hear that so many Asian elders have fallen for a cult of evil occidental devices to the point that they now can barely survive without them. Could history repeat itself with a commercial colonization of Asia by the West? I feel chills by even thinking about it! . The West and to be exact, the French started to print and distribute porn pictures in 1880s and the American became the industry leader in the 60s. Now, Malaysia is the tree-topper on a Christmas tree with their politicians making and distributing their home made porn videos like the American’s Funniest Home Video TV shows. I feel thrills by even thinking about it!

If you studied and understand history, you will know this. Some countries include united kingdon, holland, portugal, russia, france, these countries used to conquer and owned other countries..look at the state they are in now? All down to 1. What we have to do now is to have the government hold 40% and shares of the balance 60% of companies like facebook, twitter, whatsapp, line, youtube etc be owned by the people, than they will not play punk and spread such misleading deals like the huawei sg saga. A well blend of the threadstarter... Wonderful this word mixture. Let's sincerely hope the aunties don't need to stand at ill designed busstops with heated steel seats in the sharp bright sunlight while running to all those 37 shops... The whole thing was caused by Huawei. It is already a shame that the police has to come and send people away telling them no "commotion" at a public place. Huawei should be charged to pay for the police in security personnel to come and disperse the people. And Huawei should make sure that every senior citizen will receive the 54 S$ phone... Who will buy anything Huawei if they come with such cheap marketing gags??? Some years I laughed when all the youngsters were sitting in front of one Swedish texitle shop at ION and even sleeping there in the night and police had to step in. (don't want to mention a name). Now the senior citizens lining up in front of Huawei shops.
fab
I recall a clip about shoppers during sales in various countries. Only European and Japanese were orderly. But in most European countries these cheap gimmicks won't work. nobody actually bothers or queues up. it will even have a negative branding in any such country like "phones for cheap people". But when I was living in Europe there was once a branded PC sold at a renown discounter shop. There were a few queues but nothing essential. Maybe people would queue to get hold of a Rolling Stones ticket (or some Boys group or something like that). In Singapore you see so many people queue up. Free ice cream (soft ice) at McDonald, student promotion at tiger sugar coffee outlets. I don't even remember all. I even passed by a queue when a shop sold some Prawn crackers (Krupuk)...at the heartlands (3 packs for 1 Dollar each), hope the people checked the expiry date... ha ha. actually I was so surprised that people would queue up for somthing as such. Oh, forgot the "Hello Kitty" queue... A good friend once called me that he has to cancel the dinner with me, because he was still standing in a queue... Plenty Singaporeans just still have this "farmer's" mentality. As said before, the gov should send them an invoice because they had to call in the police and security services to get controll on the crowds and disperse. here are the top 5 queues in 2017 https://www.campus.sg/best-of-singapores-queues-in-2017/ and 2016! https://sgmagazine.com/city-living/news/times-singaporeans-queued-something
lonelyglobe
Queueing definitely have became a national hobby of sg, anything that can eat, cannot eat, for memory etc...u will see queue, doesnt matter the last one in queue dont even know what is the queue about It is also a perfect example of kiasuism, that kind of "i dont queue, i will loose out" mentality, the queueing issue will only get worse as our society aged: 1.) More free people joining 2.) Get the free/cheap thing and sell away for some extra income Edited July 31, 2019 by lonelyglobe

Everywhere people queue....when the starbucks roastery opened in tokyo in jan, japanese queued upbto 4 hrs to go in u know. Do you know till now, how long are the lines at shack shack at madison sq park now? You make it sound like sg is the only one queueing but every country does it.
