Goh Kah Heng alias Shi Ming Yi, 46, was charged, along with his personal assistant Raymond Yeung Chi Hang, 33, who faces two counts, and Phua Seow Hwa, 47, who faces one charge. Phua is a manager of Ren Ci Hospital and Medicare Centre's technical resource centre. A fourth man, Pang Leong Chuan, 27, was charged with having obscene videos and films without valid certificates at Cornwall Gardens, where the monastery staff live, and his Tampines home in February. I never thought that he is a "nice" person to begin with but never thought he is capable of forgery, cheating, falsifying accounts and providing false information.Of course he is innocent until proven guilty so we will have to wait and see how this case will play out in court.Another interesting twist are the 70 obscene videos, shockingly they are found in the living quarters of the monastery staff! It would be interesting to know just how obscene these videos really are.p/s is "obscene videos" the media way of saying pxxn? Is a R21 film obscene? Sounds like a novel, a monk, two assistants in a two million dollars condo in a posh area. And this university guy (the assistant) has 95 uncensored and obscene vcd etc. I think this guy is kind of addicted to something.By the way, this Raymond is kind of a cute with small tiny eyes. I will have a big problem if he will to be my PA.I am not jumping into conclusion, but the dynamics sound very down to earth, afterall, we and the people involved in this case are all human beings, and are trapped within the things of the earth "塵"..... 塵未了.......We have donated, we did the right thing to help those in need, some people may fail us, but hope they and others would learn from what is happening. And am I glad that the authority pull the brake on charities that could misuse these funds and mislead the public. Other countries don't do that. Another concern is how the multi- millions that went to help the Sizchuan earthquake would be used. Well, my job is to donate and help the poor and those in need, the rest is dependent on the conscience of others. But conscience is subjective and can be wrapped badly. It will not only tarnish the image of Ren Ci Hospital but Singapore as well. All charities are getting too glamorous and accumulated too much money for their own good. Now who's next? Looking at the trend, it would seem the high profile charity organizations were given the extra spotlight. This is not true. We were upset by the NKF saga and people are upset by the Ren Ci saga.The reason for being upset is of course that donors did not agree for their money to be used to buy BMWs or race horses. The arrogance of the man for thinking to use donated money to speculate in property especially when he admitted to be less adequate in knowledge about property deals. Had he used his own salary (Alarm bells!) to purchase property or cars or provide interest free loans - no issue. But this? Using money to speculate at a time when he himself admitted that Ren Ci was not financially sound - how can this be right?I am not going to guess at the reasons why Ren Ci was set up. But if you support him by pointing towards his efforts in setting up Ren Ci. I agree that he should be punished for using the foundation's money for private purposes. But beyond this charge, anything else would be considered "judgment" on Minyi's character. Being in a yellow robe doesn't mean that one is a perfect being - meanings are attached to the robe, not to the person albeit you can argue that he chose to wear it in the first place. None of us like to be judged according to our private desires and lives. Whatever it is, there is consequences that we have to face for our actions. WE as outsiders, try not to judge and pass not-so-nice remarks.... coz it hurts and who knows...one day we may be caught in a similar situation. I am wondering when the media gonna announce that Ming Yi and Raymond are actually having a gay relationship. For NKF case, the charity organisation in Singapore still have not learnt their lesson. Come on, frankly who would even bother to read the financial statements of these charities? Auditors probably thought the boards were made up of decent kind-hearted souls and thus a level of trust. Gone are those days. I think the failures of corporate governance in the two charities would break the fraud triangle. At least now, they can no longer think no one is watching behind their back. Therefore, if there were any good time to trust and donate to charities, i guess this would probably be the best time. Frauds don't occur that frequently. So, donate for the next few years and stop. Wait for another fraud case to be unearthed, and donate again. It's sad but if you do not have right-minded people running the charity, you get this kind of sh*t. E.g. X bends over backwards for Y by buying him a LV bag, a BMW and etc etc.But hor, if you do think of the "pose" ... its can also have the same meaning lar. E.g.
