I am still developing my Gaydar so will like some advice on tell-tales sign for the following :

1) Dressing : but this is only apply to some, not all .... many gay guys dress normal as others, like me :whistle: ... only some youngsters or sissys that can be recognised

2) Body language : I think I often look at his walking style, especially the bottom and some can see through their hands moving :clap:

3) Hair does not work for me ... many straight men have more gay hair ...

4) Eye contact always works ... but of course only when you have gaydar ... :whistle: ... straight men don't look at you for so long

The only way of knowing for sure is if the other party tells you, then the game will shift into whats his intention in telling you.

As castaway already noted, many str8 men also share same fashion sense or mannerism with many of us these days.

There is a possibility that its their way in appearing more sophisticated or trendy and looking less uncouth or threatening to a woman (its the metrosexual thing going on)

Once, the eye "signal" is established with a few interval of glances at each other ...

Then, just walk to the person, give him a friendly smile & ask "R u in the same line?" or "R u a PLU?". You will have your answer immediately. No need to waste time to play Hide-&-Seek & that's what I will do, mostly due to curiosity despite he's my liking or not. And my hit-rate is 100% PLU-Confirmed so far.

But of course, this case is with assumption that the other party shows interests in you ...

Swtiched on the TV last night and there was this cooking demo program called Top Chief.

I could single out almost all the guys taking part in the program, including the 'student', by their mannerisms (which include hand gestures) and their choice of words in their expression.

This is an interesting topic back in the day gays would wear bandanas in there back pocket to intdicate they were gay the diffrent colour and if on left and right side secretly told those in the know not only that they were gay but there sexual prefrences. hmm, i think i belong to none of these categories. maybe can add another category called the guy-next-door gays?

generally i feel that gays who are more 'out' and have more gay friends are easier to detect. Whereas on the other hand, the closeted ones or those who have few gays friends are harder to detect. Apart from this, it is also up to the efficiency of one's gaydar. after having activated the gaydar for some time, the above few categories of gays mentioned by GachiMachi should be easy to detect. sometimes if you are unsure of your gaydar, get your friend beside you to confirm it for you. It works pretty good for me whenever i activate my gaydar together with my buddy. Most of the time we are spot-on when the target is slightly more challenging to detect.
