Power Man, and Shang-Chi the Master of Kung-Fu, along with many other minorities and women, helped the generations that grew up reading Marvel Comics starting in the 1960s shake off the shackles of white supremacy and hateful racism which had long choked their country. He also replied directly to bigoted fans who wrote letters complaining about too many characters which were Black, Asian, Hispanic, Female, Disabled, etc. -- setting the record straight by lecturing them that diversity makes the USA stronger -- and the world for that matter. When the USA finally puts an end to the recent resurgence of racism, misogyny, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and xenophobia inspired by the likes of Trump and his idol Putin, people under 50 will largely be front and center, and their support of a multicultural country and planet will be a lasting legacy for Stan Lee among the many who dedicated their lives to such a wonderful dream.
