gstc82
Read from press n some compared Whitney to Michael Jackson. What rubbish. Whitney was drunk and parties drunk for days before she died while Michael was practicing hard for his concerts. Michael was not a user if crack, Whitney was a junkie. Michael do not smoke, Whitney smoked crack and cigs. Michael had well adjusted grounded kids, Whitney had a bratty daughter. Whitney had a good voice but she ain't in the same league as Michael both professionally and in private.

gz69
Not many celebrities die due to accidents. Some die of sickness, sometimes long illnesses. Many die from drug abuse, suicides. In the end, no amount of money nor fame can save them from death. Fame and fortune may not bring true happiness or long lives. But there are many who live to old age gracefully. Each one needs to make the effort.

Guest Thaiboyz
Fong Fei Fei was well known for her fancy hats and her unique way of singing. She was the same era as Teresa Teng. Both were my family's favorites and my parents collected a huge quant of their vinyl records, I could still remember their photos on those albums. when Teresa died, my mum was sad. Now we are missing Fong too. Both of them were the top singers in Chinese pop history. Salute to their talents

Guest Guest
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1198879/1/.htmlSINGAPORE: Top theatre actress Emma Yong, one-third of the popular musical comedy "Dim Sum Dollies" has died, after a fight with cancer. Nominated Member of Parliament and fellow actress Janice Koh tweeted late Wednesday night: "We have lost a beautiful actress and one of our most talented performers & singers tonight. Rest in peace, my dear Emma. Miss you..." Ms Yong, 36, was diagnosed with cancer last year, but appeared to have recovered by the middle of the year, appearing in Dream Academy's Into the Woods in July. However, in December she pulled out of a musical to undergo treatment when the cancer came back. An established name in Singapore's theatre scene, Ms Yong's acclaimed career spanned a diverse range of roles, from serious drama in Blackbird to lighter fare like Cinderel-LAH and Boeing Boeing, as well as in film (The Blue Mansion). Of her death, actress Neo Swee Lin tweeted: "RIP darling Emma. Angels bear you aloft. our performing family has lost one of our greatest talents." - TODAY

Many pple lead a healthy life, eating right and exercise regularly can also get cancer. There are way too many such cases now.Anyway, RIP. GachiMuchi
Disco queen Donna Summer dies at 63LOS ANGELES, May 17 (Reuters) -Queen of disco Donna Summer, famous for her 1970s hits like "Hot Stuff," "Last Dance" and "She Works Hard for the Money," died on Thursday at the age of 63, her publicist said.No cause of death was given but celebrity website TMZ.com said Summer had been suffering from cancer, and died in Florida."Early this morning, surrounded by family, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being herfaith. While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy," the singer'sfamily said in a statement issued through spokesman Brian Edwards. The Boston-born Summer began her career in Germany where she performed in productions of the shows "Hair" and "Porgy and Bess."Her breakthrough hit was the song "Love to Love You Baby" released in 1975. She later dominated the disco era with thesongs "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff" and "Dim All the Lights."In 1983 she scored a massive hit with "She Works Hard for the Money." Summer won five Grammys(Reporting by Piya Sinha-Roy and Alex Dobuzinskis; Editing by Jackie Frank) Quote http://gachimuchi2008.blogspot.com
GachiMuchi
Donna Summer, Grammy-winning Queen of Disco, dies at 63Mesfin Fekadu, The Associated Press May 17, 2012 13:10:00 PMNEW YORK, N.Y. - Disco queen Donna Summer, whose pulsing anthems such as "Last Dance," ''Love to Love You Baby" and "Bad Girl" became the soundtrack for a glittery age of sex, drugs, dance and flashy clothes, has died. She was 63.Her family released a statement, saying Summer died Thursday morning and that they "are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy.""Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time," the statement read. She had been living in Englewood, Fla., with her husband Bruce Sudano.Summer came to prominence just as disco was burgeoning, and came to define the era with a string of No. 1 hits and her beauty queen looks. Disco became as much defined by her sultry, sexual vocals — her bedroom moans and sighs — as the relentless, pulsing rhythms of the music itself. "Love to Love You Baby," with its erotic moans, was her first hit and one of the most scandalous songs of the polyester-and-platform-heel era.Unlike some other stars of disco who faded as the music became less popular, Summer was able to grow beyond it and later segued to a pop-rock sound. She had one of her biggest hits in the 1980s with "She Works Hard For The Money," which became another anthem, this time for women's rights.Soon after, Summer became a born-again Christian and faced controversy when she was accused of making anti-gay comments in relation to the AIDS epidemic. Summer denied making the comments, but was the target of a boycott.Still, even as disco went out of fashion she remained a fixture in dance clubs, endlessly sampled and remixed into contemporary dance hits. Summer, real name LaDonna Adrian Gaines, was born in 1948 in Boston. She was raised on gospel music and became the soloist in her church choir by age 10."Love to Love You Baby" was her U.S. chart debut and the first of 19 No. 1 dance hits between 1975 and 2008 — second only to Madonna. During the disco era she burned up the charts: She was the only artist to have three consecutive double-LPs hit No. 1, "Live and More," ''Bad Girls" and "On the Radio." She was also the first female artist with four No. 1 singles in a 13-month period, according to the Rock Hall of Fame, where she was a nominee this year. She was never comfortable with the "Disco Queen" label. Musically, she began to change in 1979 with "Hot Stuff," which had a tough, rock 'n' roll beat. Her diverse sound helped her earn Grammy Awards in the dance, rock, R&B and inspirational categories. Dionne Warwick said in a statement that she was sad to lose a great performer and "dear friend." "My heart goes out to her husband and her children," Warwick said. "Prayers will be said to keep them strong."Summer released her last album, "Crayons," in 2008. It was her first full studio album in 17 years. She also performed on "American Idol" that year with its top female contestants. Quote http://gachimuchi2008.blogspot.com
