If only can ask them to pay before treatment...... It can also be those rich ones fly in business class and exhausted all our medical resources, afterall they know they can get better medical treatment here.

The one who came in at Seletar airport should be private jet. Should make them pay at least a month worth in deposits first, otherwise deport immediately.

Is coming....

To make matters worse, the government official whatsapp channel already sent out the message saying that if there are many cases here, only those seriously ill may be hospitalized, while those with mild symptoms will just be diverted to see GP only and rest at home. We may not even have resources to look after ourselves. Where got time to look after "foreign talents"?

I really pity all those on the same flight as those Indonesians, in particular the entire air crew. I wonder if they will all be put on quarantine and lose salary because of that.

I think the boomerang is returning back to Singapore now, with more of the infections coming from other countries nowadays. We took almost 2 months to get the first 100 infected people. And now, in a mere 2 weeks, we have an additional of more than 80 infected. The numbers really don't look good. I don't think we have anything under control at all.

We have closed the door too late.

Unfortunately we are not closing the door,  our door still open big big to every country except China,  S. Korea, Northern Italy and Iran....is very stupid to just ban northern Italy, it should be the whole of Italy and even European countries with thousands of cases.

All those rich tycoons from Indonesia and oil king from Brunei definitely will fly here for treatment but there is nothing we can do to stop them.

Internally there are still people who die die want to travel,  who die die want to attend group events of thousands of people,  why still no ban?

Guest testing

if Singapore serious they would do a covid19 test at all passengers from affected areas.

I just flew here some days ago and the staff didn't even check the temperate of every passenger, and the students sitting behind the temperature screen playing their phone..

The USA has gone this way.  It has banned all European people from entering America.  This is the work of Trump.

I wish the European Union and more countries in the world retaliate by banning Americans from entering...

especially if Trump has some reason to visit their countries.  What if he is infected ??

Tell us what is your solution then? To have open borders and let all in with free healthcare at the expense of all taxpayers? It is really unbelievable that there are people like you with serious Trump derangement syndrome who wishes nothing but bad things for your own country.

Singapore loves to have such a president. Very caring for the health of its people.  Trump will remain strong and healthy and probably will stay on for another term in office.  I can't say about our president. Nobody voted for her and she just walked into office like nobody business.

I am so glad that you people are not US citizens who could vote for Trump in November. You are so uninformed about the nature of this guy Trump!

Trump played down the importance of Covid-19...  until the cases started to rise in the US. Then he and his vice-president engaged in a campaign of misinformation (shameful lies) about the availability of test kits, something that continues up to today.  Trump only cares on how the Covid will affect his chances to win in November.  His ban to Europeans came when there were already more than 1000 cases in a majority of states.  So the virus is already IN the US.

Now that test kits of Covid are becoming more available, one solution instead of banning entry of people is to make it mandatory that the people who enter have a recent negative test result proving that they are not infected.  This is equivalent to the requirement for visitors to have a valid passport and visa.

Yeah, you decide your own fate. You don't want to wear mask to protect yourself, good for you. You don't go around dissuading other people from wearing mask just so that immature brainless people like you cannot differentiate between the infected people and those not infected.

Stupid. Sigh

Likewise religion activities should stop, first is the church,  then the mosque,  next the temple? Religion can wait,  virus won't wait.

a fair no. to begin with too! no rocket science to guess that figure

large-scale is in Ks
Most of the medium-scale art production like theatre or religious services are in 250-300s range mah
So ie the cutting off point loh

Why cut off medium and NOt smaller scale??

Cos smaller scale easier to manage mah, and to do contact tracing

What not totally cut off?
I m sorry, i m not a prisoner of fears! Society and economy is not gonna be clamp down due to  a virus we are managing so well. but that is just my perspective, if u have Queries , pls ask directly on the Facebook or youtube, i purposely copied the whole FB for u guys to ask and shoot qns directly!
I do not lift up content and then paste them straight (edited or  not) here without the exact links and quotes

All these are guesswork.  250 is not easy to manage if there is a confirmed case. A more manageable figure will be 50.

Once u have failed to block the virus,  the next best thing u can do is to trace and treat them. If there is one country that deserve envy,  perhaps is Taiwan, given their close connectivity with China,  it is amazing to see only 50 cases currently as compare to our 187, even HK only 132. Given the size of SG and it's population,  187 is actually a tragic number and this tragic number will just keep rising.

Reason for Taiwan success being they are rejected by WTO and that turn out to be a blessing in disguise. When the whole world is listening to WTO,  they have started their battle early. When the whole world is desperately out of mask,  they can have 3 each per week.

Furthermore,  their crisis team have a strong medical background as compare to our team of engineer and finance expert.

Remind me of lemon tree : "I wonder how,  I wonder why..... "

I agree to a large extent. I am impressed by how HK and TW managed to control their numbers even with their proximity to China. It's funny how the TW says we are doing a good job though, when their numbers are so much lower than ours.

And that happened how long after the church clusters were identified, in comparison to how long it took to shut down all the 70 mosques after two Muslims were found to be infected?

I wonder are you aware that all  the catholic masses were suspended since the 14th of feb and the suspension continue from 14th of march again ?

Thanks

But now according what has been announced. The mosque services will be closed only for two weeks?

SINGAPORE - Singapore residents should defer all non-essential travel, and border restrictions have been tightened to include all Asean states, as the Republic moves to reduce the growing risk of Covid-19 importation.

The 30-day travel advisory for Singapore residents is subject to further review, the government said.

From 11.59pm on March 16, all travellers - including Singapore residents, long-term pass holders, and short-term visitors - entering Singapore with recent travel history to Asean countries, Japan, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom within the last 14 days will be issued with a 14-day stay-home notice (SHN).

This will exclude travellers from Malaysia who arrive by land and sea, given the large numbers who cross the borders daily, said National Development Minister Lawrence Wong at a press conference on Sunday (March 15).

Separate arrangements are being made by a bilateral joint working group, said Mr Wong, who co-chairs a Singapore multi-ministry task force to fight the coronavirus.

All other travellers affected by the new border restrictions announced will also have to provide proof of the place where they will serve the notice, for example a hotel booking covering the entire period, or a place of residence they or their family members own.

They may also be swabbed for testing for Covid-19, even if asymptomatic, said the Ministry of Heath (MOH) on Sunday (March 15). This is because of the risk of community transmission in these countries and evidence of cases that have been imported from these countries into Singapore, said MOH.

Finally,  they are doing something to stop all the previously zero case and under report countries as well as discouraging sporean from traveling, hope is not too late.

It is a right move if we do not want SG hospital to became "south east Asian" hospital. But there is one more country that need to be careful....

"Anyone entering Singapore with fever or other respiratory symptoms will be issued a 14-day Stay-Home Notice, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said on Friday (March 13)."

IF I enter Singapore without fever or  other respiratory symptoms, that means, I will not be issued with 14-day SHN.

你想到的,人家早就想到了。The latest travel advisory for Singapore travellers is 13th March. Nothing mentioned on 14/15 March.

The table published by CNA is better than MOH BUT, it did not mentioned whether must served SHN if no symptoms.

On recent negative test result. How recent is recent? Some people test negative on day 1 can test positive on day 2. If they were to be allowed to enter US based on day 1 test results and test positive on day 2 when they are already in US, who is responsible? Trump? Or Biden? Or Hillary Clinton?

Next, how do US authorises validate if the tests conducted in the visitors’ countries are reliable? A ban is the safest. It is draconian but necessary in these circumstances. Within Europe, there is no consistency in the different countries in terms of border controls and health care systems.

The White House said that Trump tested negative.  Who knows?   Who can trust what they say?  If Trump is positive for covid19, the last thing they would do is to say so.

I just read that 3800 passengers were allowed to disembark from a cruise ship in Miami without being tested,  even if one passenger had tested positive in a previous tour of the ship with the same crew.   And at the international airports we see huge crowds of incoming passengers waiting to be screened for hours...   shouldn't people be protected from crowds?   It all seems to be set up by a bunch of idiots,  which is what has now infiltrated the government of the US.

In all honesty, I am glad this virus is helping to put a halt on the excessive globalization. I hope countries like Singapore will start waking up to the idea of relying on ourself more from now onwards, instead of depending on everyone else for everything such as foreign labor and resources all the time. This is a good way to press the reset button to go back to the beginning for a restart, not by the force of human, but by the force of nature itself.

Will we learn our lessons? Remains to be seen...

To certain extent you’re correct, nature will reset or reboot (using the IT term) itself every X years when mankind has overtaxed its resources causing extensive damages to earth.
