You are so wrong here. This panic buying is not because of some black Friday sale or anything like that. It is because of the potential of products scarcity, and people will still buy regardless of any price hikes. Look at how the shortage of masks led to the price increase and people are still willing to buy, resulting in it becoming unaffordable to many others. There are so many rich people here in Sg and money is of no concern to them at all. You should have seen that in the case of the mask shortage alone. You never learn. Need to banned All European countries flying in. Quarantine 14 days using their own leave is a good start but more need to be done like paying for their own medical bills. Get airlines to refund or allow people to change traveling date without penalty as most people travel because they can't get refund or change date. SIA should set a good example. Guest Guest
With the sudden influx of so many Malaysians, I'd think the number of import cases from Malaysia is going to spike up significantly. Before last night, anyone sick may just take MC and stay home in Malaysia instead of coming into Singapore to work. After last night, sick or not sick they'd all try to squeeze into Singapore so that they can continue to work here for 2 weeks after today. It doesn't matter if the money goes to the employer or employee. The reason why employers employed the foreigners was because foreigners are supposed to be cheaper. Now that the cost has increased, why should we use even a single cent of our tax and CPF money to support them? Where were these employers when they are supposed to be hiring Singaporeans? Complaining about the cost of hiring locals then? Why should we support employers now? If the money is going to the employees, that's even worse. We are using our own national reserves to subsidize the mistakes made on other countries' citizens and made by the politicians in other countries. Really goes to prove Singaporeans had always been the lowest of all the low priorities, until election time. .

Lucky still got some brain left as they predicted an increase in imported cases, then they decided to charge them. Actually, I'm not sure if what you said is true. All patients actually need to pay regardless Singaporeans, PRs, or foreigners for any type of treatments, COVID or not COVID. However, for locals and PRs, they usually get a bit leeway at the beginning when the nurses ask and see their NRIC on registration. For foreigners, they may be asked to pay at least an upfront deposit using credit card, or provide some Letter of Guarantee or whatever sorts. Otherwise, the hospital may withhold treatment. Maybe at the beginning, they might have given free treatment to all. But that would have been a stupid thing to do, so I don't think that could have happened. But if they had followed the usual hospital protocol, they should have charged the foreigners at the registration point. I'm not worried about the foreigners not paying. I'm more worried about them taking up our limited hospital resources , as they had already done to our jobs and housing and everything else
