Singapore Swimming Complex/Pool

Recommended Posts

2nd day of CNY. Pool has larger crowd than usual; family w kids going on an outing at the pool, people w avoid house visiting and/or nothing better to do (aka like me!), go to have a few relax laps.
The pool may be busy but at shower time, I do not see many people inside the shower room. Eee… I cannot leave the pool without a quick rinse especially my hair!!

Did you swim today? Post your stories here.

Cool, thanks for answering. I had the impression that weekend mornings would be dull since there are a lot of children

Yes. Children classes are on weekend morning and late afternoon (after 2pm until 6pm). You do find adults going at these times too.
Personally I will avoid the pool with too many children. Cannot ‘tahan’ the kids  screaming and over-zealous parents.

thanks to the rain, I had the whole training pool to myself for the 845pm slot at my fav pool😇. the lifeguard must be very upset that he cannot go home earlier haha

Rain can bring pleasant surprises.
Sometimes, I go to the training pool too. Less crowded, more space.
The downside of lesser people is less eye candy opportunity.

An idea - people with photographs of old swimming complexes should collate them, including the shower rooms.  Piece of architectural and cultural history that Singapore should retain.  Should bring back memories for many cruisers out there lolz 😂

example recall Buona Vista Pool. Complex design itself was quite standard but the shower room was unique - helps many to understand meaning of communal showering ◡̈

Good idea, lol

Today, I notice a new change in the pool changing room. Previously, alternate basin and urinal were marked off to prevent users from using them. Today, all the blockers is taken off!

I guess SSC management is responding to Government’s move to do away w social distancing if you are masked.
With the new measures, will there be more swimming slots made available (meaning the pool will get more crowded!!) ?

🤔
