Singapore Swimming Complex/Pool

Recommended Posts

Its going to get complicated when phase 3 starts tomorrow. We have to state which pool we want to swim (deep or shallow) when we arrive and we will be given a specific lane in that pool to swim in. And we will be given and asked to wear some kind of tag to identify which lane we are in !

Yeah the ActiveSg staff at KB Pool said the same thing when I went to swim just now.

If I dun recall wrongly, she also said that the pool will be divided into 2 (4 lanes each), and each lane will hold a maximum of 8 swimmers. We'll be identified by some wrist bands that we're supposed to wear. Let's see how it all works out tomorrow.

Oh dear. Usually I will go in and see what the situation before deciding which pool I would like to. If deep pool is too busy, I will move to teaching pool.
If we are asked at entrance, it’s like making a gamble. 🤭

Date:28Dec

Venue: Jln Besar pool

1st day of Phase3 opening. Situation at the pool is a bit chaotic.
Poor lady at the door has to ask everyone if they are going to use which Facility (A,B for deep pool separating the senior citizen from the public) or Facility C (teaching pool). If only there is a poster at the entrance and someone to help the door butch (oops ... pardon my language), it could be easier to explain to this bunch of people, majority senior citizen.
Adult in deep pool: Orange band

Senior citizen in deep pool: Blue band

(Deep pool is partition to 2 sections, one for public and another for senior citizen)

Teaching pool: Pink band

Door bitch: Senior citizen?

Pool user: Yes

Straight away given a blue band but little does door bitch knows this user wants to go teaching pool.
There are also idiots (adult couples) who take orange bands but go into senior citizen side of the pool and best, stand at the end of the pool chitchatting.
Later, they are told by one of  the lifeguards  to move their asses to the public side.

Aiyoh.... like I always say, our pool users have much to catch up.
Authority implementing the rules also doesn’t think deep. No connection to what’s happening at the ground.
Nevertheless, glad to at we are in Phase3 and not .... 🤐 (better don’t say).

For swimming pool, there is not necessary to book the slot. Should follow the Library methods.

As long as the one hour slot does not hit the limit, then allow people to go in to swim. If it hits, then the person will have to wait for the next hour slot.

First come first serve basis.

I dont understand the logic of such separation. Then why not separate the seniors from the others on trains, restaurants etc? Just say each lane maximum of how many swimmers can liao right? We have eyes to see and count for each lane and the life guards can ensure also.

Yeah loh. The lifeguard asked me which pool I will be using. I was like, ‘Can I see what’s the occupancy rate then I decide?’ Cannot!! 🤭

So rigid such rules. Really ah, who is this person who thinks of such rule? It really makes no sense! I’m flabbergasted.... really.

Probably give them some time to refine the booking lane slot process. You know la, those policy makers aren’t people from the ground. Just keyboard warriors from management~ Wait till public feedback and stuff, then they will act on it. Zero thoughts went into planning.

Went to the pool just now. TBH I think it’s still alright if there is less crowd like what I experience today. One suggestion to eradicate all your worries and frustrations, just go and check in 15min earlier and happily choose your pref swimming lanes and everything is good ❤️

Also one tip, you’ll thank me for, take out the wrist band before showering. You may get a paper cut if you shower with it on. Got a long gash in my thigh..

Yeap. I removed my band once I get out of water. Wearing that band to swim isn’t comfortable for me.
I saw someone just left/dumped his band inside the shower room. Litter bug!

Looks like poster is up at Jln Besar pool  with information on the pool’s facility in Phase3. Is that just a coincident or is someone reading my posting here in BW? 🤗

Band?? Hmm 🤔. We don't give any band when entering to the pool

yes I swim at yck too. No bands. There is only a lifeguard between the training and competition pool monitoring the no. Of people going in the out I believe.
