I wouldn't say Alvin Tan is good-looking, but his overall appearance and physique is not bad for a guy who's 39.

Would love to see Ivan Lim and him in a wrestling match (both guys wearing speedos), with the winner tying up the loser, and making him wear a vibrating condom for two hours!  😈🍆💧👏

In the past when he was working for Facebook, he claims that he did not believe that legislation is the best approach to addressing the issue of online falsehood. And yet now, he is joining the very party which made legislation to be the approach of addressing the issue of online falsehood. Look how the winds can change the directions of where he flies his kites.

'If nothing is there, we back our candidate': PM Lee defends Ng Ling Ling amid online allegations

Ng, 48, who was introduced as a candidate for PAP's Ang Mo Kio GRC team at the event had been accused by an ex-colleague of making "a false claim" that she had started the Social Service Training Institute (SSTI).

In a Facebook post early this morning, Richard Giam, who is founding chief executive of fund-raising firm Rainmakerz, wrote: "I believe PAP candidate Ng Ling Ling made a false claim. She was not the one who set up Social Service Training Institute."

The post referenced Ng's self-introduction at PAP's virtual press conference on June 25, where she had said: "I set up the Social Service Training Institute and I allocated funds to ensure that social service agencies can run critical programmes."

The founding director of the organisation was Tan Bee Heong, Giam wrote, adding that it would be "misleading and deceptive" for one to publicly claim that they set up a team when they were only one of the contributing members.

Tan herself later acknowledged the post and wrote: "Thanks for the facts!"

Wow! So this Ng person is really lying la! Tsk tsk tsk... MIW... What are you guys doing? Desperate to get any Tom, Dick or Harry in is it...

Wait a second. Claiming credit for something good that she has not done, isn't that part of their doing too? No wonder they took her in as their own!

Guest Thinking Too Much

Actually guys, don't you think the MIW supporters are kinda quiet this election? Like they are not investigating the background of the Opposition candidates and all? I am suspecting that maybe they want to keep mum about things until Nomination Day, then whack the Opposition hard the next day by spilling all the dirty stuff they have researched. Possible??

In 2018, she already made the claim, and now in 2020 repeating it, how is this a Freudian slip as Gerard Ee claims? Why liddat?

Don’t know whether Ivan will be punished by ruling party or Keppel or not. 😰

We should be more worried for those who posted all the negative reports on him

Better vote for more oppositions if not when the MIW get all the seats in parliament, all the people who posted all those stuffs will surely get into hot soup.

By then there will be no one in parliament to defend n fight for all these poor guys n they will surely be sued for defamation.

If you can say that "Most of the opposition parties here are just postmen delivering  the complaints of unhappy  Singaporeans.. Do they have solutions to tackle the issues listed" , then what do you say of all those 82 PAP MPs? Do you think all those 82 PAP MPs have solutions to tackle any issues listed? I haven't seen many of them do that so far.

Furthermore, if the opposition MPs are "just postmen delivering  the complaints of unhappy Singaporeans", the PAP MPs are not even working that way at all. When was the last time you saw your PAP MP? PAP is merely putting in their PAP MPs so that they can vote according to how the Party tell them to vote in Parliament, and not for them to reflect your voice in Parliament. And for their votes  in Parliament, the PAP MPs will be well-commensurated using our taxpayers money in various public positions.

If you like the way a country is run democratically because we still have the rights to vote for our preferred party without repercussions, then why do you like a Party which will use the full power of the Whip to force its members to vote the way it wants them to?  Even if you might have some PAP MPs who wants to work for the benefit of Singaporeans, will their Party Whip allow them to do so? Why are Singaporeans using our democracy to vote communism into our Singapore Parliament? What's the point of supporting such a Party if that is the case?

I think the only way out of this mess is to vote in as many opposition MPs who has no need to worry about the PAP Party Whip, and we might have some form of check-and-balance of PAP soon, before PAP even stripped us of a next General Election, like the way they blocked us from voting for our last President.

What's the point of having so many MPs when they don't even know the basic knowledge. E.g., somebody asked whether the president knows how much reserve we have and whether she has been briefed before giving approval. Some can even ask to slow down on our reserve savings.??

That's the problem,  that's why i said this year opposition party no chance at all as there is no big mistake made and in the fear of the after covid effect,  sure die...like I mention before,  no one want the opposition party to completely take over but what we need is check and balance in parliament and that can only happen when there is sufficient opposition party voted in.

I agreed that MIW need to be check. But the quality of the opp are there to oppo and make noise. When you check, you need to provide a solution too. But what I see is check and check but no recommendation solution.

It was PAP who grew their own number of MPs exponentially in the first place.

Questioning if whether the president knows how much reserve we have and whether she has been briefed before giving approval is exactly the type of check-and-balance questions that should be asked in Parliament. What's wrong with it?

What is the point of keeping all your money in the banks when you can use it for better purposes such as investing some of it on yourself eg education, better housing, capital growth etc? Similarly, what is the point of bringing in trillions of dollars and parking it in the reserves and yet treating our own citizens so miserly while they pay themselves millions of dollars each every year?

I don't understand you at all.

Dear fellow SGean, please do not be mistaken. We are NOT attempting to overthrow the government and change everyone in white to blue or red or yellow or whatever other colours there are. This is not Malaysia.

All we are asking for is a fair representation of local voices and not the current (nearly) monopoly state it is. THAT is true democracy. If everyone in Parliament belongs to the same clan, sure, it looks nice on the screen to have an all-white and "clean" appearance. But if that's the case, who will be there to check and regulate the things they do that can potentially impact how we lead our lives? One proposes, and no one opposes regardless of whether it is really a good proposition or not. Seriously, we don't need "Yes-men and Yes-women", we need people who dare to speak up for the actual betterment of the nation.

Let's be real. Anyone who has not produced results should step down, no? Anyone who has made mistakes that impacted the lives of SGeans severely should have the cheek to step down and let someone else who is more able to do the job take over, no?

I agreed with u. I hope my fellow SGean will vote quality opp and not any tom and harry. I still want to retain my current govt

Honestly, Singaporeans! By allowing such people who claim credit for something they have not done, and then coming out to acknowledge AFTER someone points out her "mistake", seriously, what other worse things can she do once she gets in???? No eyes see. Really.

Quick summary for u!

Dear active forummer, maybe you have missed an earlier post by a fellow forummer. This woman admitted that the Dept was founded by ANOTHER LADY, Tan Bee Heong, who thanked the whistle blower for clarifying the facts. Thereafter, this woman then said she was the ASSISTANT DIRECTOR who assisted the founder cum director in blah blah blah matters, and it was a "slip of the tongue".

Another fellow forummer then posted the timeline of her joining the Dept 1 YEAR AFTER the Dept was founded. If you want to lie, please ensure that you erase such traces before lying la...

Anyone who has anything negative to say are all silenced already.

The person who exposed Ivan Lim was threatened by that retired Colonel Surya Kumar,

The person who wrote about Shaun Huang has "retracted" her comments, and he is going to be brought into Jurong GRC by Tharman.

To have another brave soul to come out and state the facts on this Ng Ling Ling is almost completely unexpected already, and he is going to be brought into AMK GRC by LHL.

Even the Bukit Batok Murali case has been asked to "keep the details of her case confidential" after she described how she was “close to tears” and “tried to beg him to hear me out” and his response to her was to “get married, as that was the only solution”. (PAP's Murali Pillai reaches out to Bukit Batok resident who criticised his lack of empathy

 https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/paps-murali-pillai-reaches-out-bukit-batok-resident-who-criticised-his-lack-empathy )

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Do we really have the heart to see more. No wonder the older MPs like GCT, Khaw Boon Wan and LBW are all retiring now.
