Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 132) I suggested in Part 121, how to "properly" get rid of NATTO smell if one plan to eat it occassionally. Now, I will also recommend how to drink Apple Cider Vinegar without feeling aweful about its smell. 1) Pour one table spoon (not teaspoon) of Apple Cider vinegar into a common size coffee cup 2) Pour one table spoon of Korea Honey Citron Tea (choose B graded with less sugar) into the same coffee cup 3) Fill the cup with room temperature plain water ( add ice is optional). Note: Boiling water will destroy Vit C. Then stir and taste......hmmm, the ACV smell became subtle and acceptable for freak like me. The result is a healthier drink better than all sport drinks in the market. For a week, I have been drinking it once a day and sipping slowly in front of my PC. I think Vitamin C combined with Vinegar are extremely good for blood vessel cleansing. Meow!
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 133) It has been a busy and rainy week but I managed to squeeze in 7km today to complete my 21km run this week. The next two weeks will also be occupied with spring cleaning even though I personally don't celebrate CNY as much as other people, but I may be spending a lot of time writing book, as an excuse not to socialise to prevent causing unnecessary anxiety. Thereafter, I hope to land a job but, in the meantime, my BP reading taken this week looks happy.
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 134) The path was empty of people and quiet, with a cold breeze coming from a strong wind on a sun-less sky. The weather was fantastic and I felt like God has booked me a VIP ambience. In two consecutive days, I ran a total of 14 km, and I felt blessed and content. Running on a track relieves oneself of many human burdens and disturbances, and the fresh green surroundings provide immense comfort. Not to mention the positive and health-promoting vibes that accompany these experiences. I will now immerse under the warm shower and enjoy my own little peaceful world while the water runs endlessly over my back. I enjoy simple life like this. Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 135) Despite busy with home spring cleaning, I also managed to accomplish 28km run this week due to the impressive weather. and the quite empty spaces. In fact, on Friday night, I had a wet dream that surprised me while I was asleep. I thought I would never again experience a wet dream, but the dream was so vivid that it led to the rare "explosion". Anyway, my next task is to begin writing a book (I can't wait), but first I have to go out tomorrow, somewhere calm and peaceful to unwind and watch the world goes by. Except for a few decorative auspicious signs, I haven't purchased any CNY pastries or anything very sweet for myself like I have in former years. Besides, I may need a new pair of jogging shoes as the current one is showing sign of extreme wears and tears already. Nevertheless, I wish everyone a HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR! My BP this week, left right arms randomly. Edited February 4, 2024 by Black Kitten
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 136) CNY's first three days I was writing my second health reference book while hiding in my room. I finished the first book (Part 79) in 2021. It included 500 pages and 120 themes. The initiative of the first book serves as health guide, packed with informations, befitting my circumstances. I put off writing the second book for a few months before deciding to start on Chinese New Year. I can write very fast and easily become addicted. I haven't started my 7-kilometer jog as a result, and after eating one mandarin orange, I also experienced gassy stomach & discomfort the past 3 days. I'll need to eat a banana to aid in my digestion and bowel movement before I can resume wearing my jogging shoes. In the meantime, I'll keep writing and resting to see where it takes me. Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 137) I completed a total of 28km this week in nice weather, after keeping a low profile for the previous two weeks owing to severe weather.I enjoy becoming covered in perspiration, right into my ass, therafter having a refreshing cooling drink, then taking a cold bath afterwards. To put it mildly, it was quite satisfying, and this week's jogging trail was relatively quiet as well. I'm ecstatic beyond measure. I recently purchased urine test strips from Shoppee just for fun and to see what kind of results I might get. I took the test four times, a few days apart, as soon as I got up in the morning to go to the bathroom. When I look at the strips, I may be color blind and some colors didn't get anywhere near the color provided in the positive chart too. Someday, I might consider going for blood test instead. Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 138) I overcame the heat this week to complete my 21-kilometer objective, in less than ideal weather. After that I drank gallons of iced water. My blood pressure has been "Normalized" and well-managed. Did I mention that I had hypertension from the time I was a teenager until I was in my mid-30s? My blood pressure frequently hovers around 80 and above 136 mm Hg, which is damaging for the heart. Because of this, I almost gave away my life in the brutal corporate world, receiving very little in exchange for my hard work and stress. My blood pressure has significantly improved as a result of my regular jogging, and I don't feel as stressed without a job, for now. In addition, I read a lot instead of going to the mall, which helps me get over my needless anxiousness. In addition, I try to live a more spiritual life and pray in quiet times, which is helpful when putting all these things together. Living a clean and slow lifestyle is akin to finding refuge and helps me save a tonnes in an over-priced country. Still playing with my urine stripes on different days. Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 139) I didn't expect to jog today, because I have already completed my 20km run this week. But after watching this video, I decided to do another round today for an answer. I didn't achieve 5k in 20 minutes but 25 minutes instead and at my fastest pace and felt exhausted. Thereafter, I took a short casual jog for another 2km. Will be taking a break for the remaining month to recover from feet soreness. nick.jo
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 140) I felt slight chest discomfort and heartburn occassionally, since early this year and it worries me greatly. I would like to think it was due to drinking of Apple Cider Vinegar (Part 132) but I could be wrong, may be paranoia at work. I threw away the ACV in March and pondered about other scary possibilities. It took me another 2 months to finally brave up and have my long awaited..... Health Screening + Chest X-ray, a comprehensive one too (unlike the one in Part 49). I mean....really really comprehensive to get my paranoia out of my mind but also kept within my budget of not over-testing it. As such, I took a break from the joggiing ground, to rest, prior to my appointment. At the waiting room, I was extremely nervous. Yes!! I dare to opt for CT CAC score test, paid by Medisave and it wasn't expensive My mind went into a state of confusion, I was scared, my heart racing like million miles, my imagination ran wild, the room felt intimidating. I was pushed into a ring of lights and it swirled around my chest, I felt the warm sensation........... Finger crossed for the result
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 141) Reports from the health screening came at the doctor's office earlier than anticipated. Because the clinic, unlike your neighborhood clinic, has its own labs and expertise, it was quick. There was a medical center there. Appointment scheduled with the doctor on Monday. Many "WHAT IF" scenarios crossed my mind, making it difficult for me to sleep and eat properly. . What if, the moment I stepped into the doctor office and he frowled or stared at the report intently while I waited? What if, he "sigh" before even a conversation began? What if....... On the other hand, it is good to face reality sooner rather than later and get over with it!! Right? Right! Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 142) The moment of truth on my Cholesterol is finally out: Year 2018 Now (3 miles later) (20km weekly jog) (April 2021 ) (Jun 2024) Total Cholesterol 6.16 5.7 6.13 HDL 1.35 1.50 1.62 LDL 4.16 3.51 4.01 Chol/HDL Ratio 4.57 3.8 3.78 Triglycerides 1.44 1.50 1.09 A very young and smiley doctor led me into the consultation room to browse through more than a dozen reports and the analysis. I passed my comprehensive blood screening and CT heart Scan. He told me not to fret over the above result, though my LDL was high, it was consistence since 2018. Good sign that he is not quite ready to put me on Statin. However, I noticed my HDL has increased and my Triglycerides has also decreased quite drastically. I attribute to my regular jogging. As for "high" LDL, my constant crave for Bah Chor Me, Lor Mee, Laksa, Mee Rebus, Kuay Chup, Pig organs soup, Wanton Mee, Indian Rojak as my daily lunch meal could be the culprit. I was advised, again, to change my eating habbit if I want to see further improvement. So regular jogging wasn't enough to lower my LDL. As the saying goes, you are what you ate, can't be further from the truth.

Please be nice yeah, if you do not have any interest in this topic, health diary or not, simply move along to the next. Just like how you liked to comment on every other thread and at times irritated the thread-starters - which we didn't understand the rationale, but we also did not question you on it. Let's all co-exist together with lesser conflicts yeah, thank you.
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 143) I haven't posted in a while because I continue to jog in silence weekly. Even though I made an effort to reduce my weekly distance from 21 to 18 km, I still run a record-breaking 24 km just because I can. Following my most recent satisfied medical report, I decided to go to maintenance mode, which involves reducing my carbohydrate intake and not overtraining myself. I recently started drinking tea after accidentally discovering Scoop Wholefoods because I don't leave my house frequently. These are some small samples I selected to determine which teas suit my palate, however they all appear to be rather healthful. My favorite is licorice; goji berries are delicious; hibiscus is healthful but too tart; and dandelion is also quite purifying. I also picked up detox tea blend and Rooibos Tea and Fennel seeds. Fennel seeds is for chewing, but I usually sprinkle on my bowl of rice to add flavour. Probably next time I sprinkle them on my subway sandwich too. The staffs were all very friendly, and the price is quite economical to bring several samples home. Here is my personal rojak blend of tea, just for the fun of it. Drink it hot on a rainy day and stay healthy. Edited July 9, 2024 by Black Kitten
Black Kitten
A short story about “3 MILES JOURNEY (Part 144) I'm jogging less frequently now to avoid unneeded attention, "accidents," and possibly stalking. I find some people, majority from late middle-aged to elderly, to be quite obtrusive. Even when the women are with their husband, or alone, they always choose the perfect time to clash with mine and then stared lustfully, turning their head 180 degree like a radar, wanting you to be aware of their watchful eyes. Eventually it started to feel a little awkward. On a few of instances, I was followed so closely by cyclist and a certain jogger that when I stopped suddently, to rest, we almost collided fatally. Even though the jogging area was two to three meters wide, they refused to send signal nor keep a safe distance behind me. All of these inconveniences become apparent over time. If I were to stop jogging for more than week to a month, the entire place will be empty, the regulars “suddently” went missing too. How coincident.
