Was thinking to Jalan Raffles City to Suntec to Marina Sq. But changed of plan (because I am feeling lazy). So stay home laze around. Lunch , I might go IMM instead, see what do they have to offer. After that to library to return books & checkout any interesting books. Otherwise home by 4pm catch up on my Netflix for an hour till 5.15 (jogging), dinner , then pickup mum. Workout from 8 -9.30pm at home etc. 10pm to wind down on bed to relax w news Not to mention tat along the way (in IMM) if I turn ON my Grindr, Scruff , Growlr & Jack"D - see anyone jio me to visit him (or suddenly a friend ring me, for lunch, after tea or dinner - ON lah) So many options, so many opportunities. For ppl who said retired do what, I think these ppl very sad case , NO work means NO life ! What abt friends, family , hobbies, "me-time" even doing nothing daydream is a luxury ...... they just dont know how to enjoy life (wasted) Horny can visit Sauna, or Gay apps or your regular FB esp now so many WFH ! Retired dont know what to do hahaha - Mine is not enuff time , i have to cancel some appts I still remember when I have to study for exam last time. It was going to rain. I feel like missing the scenery so much. It was so beautiful. I timed myself to enjoy the scenery before concentrate back on my study. Last time, even on hot afternoon, I was enjoying the big clouds floating. It was so beautiful. I was rubbing my skin on my legs and navel. Cause suddenly can see so clearly so many dead skins unscrubbed. Now so attached to modern technology, that I spend less on nature wonders. There are times I wonder why I have not appreciate the existing of the moon. It is so beautiful. Isnt it a wonder? It is there all the times but I feel like I'm not appreciate enough for its existence. Work, OT, sleep, eat, social media and technology and back work again. Really caught in this cycle. Just to earn money to survive.

You could be working instead on some nice oil well drilling rigs middle in nowhere in nature, or in soybean or cotton or rice fields under the sun to earn money to survive. But you are right. Better enjoy nature's wonders before they disappear.
Guest Tyan
I have $68,000 in credit-card debt, a $250,000 mortgage and earn $55,000 a year. How can I dig myself out of this trap?

How can I dig myself out of this trap? Once your credit card debt exceeded 20K, you are basically serving the hefty interest monthly and not able to wind down the debt amount. I suggest you approach credit counselling of Singapore for advice, to get you out of the situation before it get worse.
Guest Involuntarily Retired?
Most people in Singapore do not need to plan for retirement. You will know when it comes, and it is called involuntarily out of job until you are re-accepted by society, or it may just ended your career there and then. Want to try
My friend is 48 this year. I met him when he was 38 and working at Casino. I dont think he makes much per month but he is good at saving and investing the extra money he has. I advised him to slowly start buying apartments in JB and rent them out. So he has been doing that doe almost 10 years and he now owns jointly a HDB in Singapore and 8 other apartments in JB. They are not expensive apartments rather those around M$150k to M$200K type. He retired from his singapore job 2 years ago and moved back to JB but he comes out to Singapore once a week to do lala delivery to supplement his income. Renting out 2 rooms in his HDB here and 8 apartments in JB, his total passive rental income less expenses a month is about M$16k. His lala income a month is about S$600 which is M$2k so he is confortably retired at 48 yo with about M$18k a month... That's planning for retirement. cutejack

radiusulnar
Side agreement sounds risky. A while back news reported those foreigners with side agreements to own landed in Singapore went to jail
