They stared blankly into the space. Their hearts and minds were so on the betting tables. All of them had vibes of a gambler. Either win or lose, I wonder what is the long term consequences. Thats why must throw more lines or better still cast a net, throwing fishing lines or casting net doesnt guarantee that u will get fishes but dont try, u get nothing. Yes, building a kelong is good but before u can do that, u need money right and working hard is just not enough to do that. So those who are able to make money from gambling - we shall skip the "rich" part - were either luckier or smarter at the gambling game than those who lost money. This also means more people lose money in gambling than people winning money from gambling. Back to the question, "can gambling make a person rich?" - yes, but more people lose money than winning. In Genting, I saw this man winning so much that the table game needed to pause for a long time waiting for a trolley loaded with cash chips to pay him in boxes. This episode happened twice on separate days. And I heard that this happened few times before. Maybe one of you might have witnessed before too. This man betted on numbers 30's in roulette and playing two to four tables simultaneously. At MBS , there are many retiree uncles who gamble in enjoyment chatting up each other and slowly but eventually made a profit end of session. I think they call themselves 'tan chia '. But are they rich from gambling? IDK. At least they are winning money whether enough to classify them as rich is another matter. Another very successful uncle I know is a horse racing bookie. Once he made enough money he would hide himself in a VIP room so that the punters couldn't find him to place bet. When racing starts again, he would go to the toilet to pee then leave the premise. That's also where I saw his big tool and remembered him as a character a!ways. Most people lose in gambling. The successful ones are those who do it with a strategy. One which I find helpful is you must not lose big money. Only losing small money then can you have a better chance to win big money. How to stop the loss if you are on a losing spree? Stop the game! Halfway through she told the boss to go fly a kite. Heard she moved out from her 4 room HDB to a private house and her husband now drives a sports car. But with correct ways of gambling, not just simply simply ones. My current 4 room condo, my car and even now me semi retirement mode in age of 31 years old with 6 figures saving in bank, all is from football gambling in Singapore Pools since 2016 till now. Long I'm no say, just say recently my winnings is enough. Just only yesterday in FIFA World cup 2026 qualifiers match, Argentina vs Chile, win 3-0 tht match, myself winning profits of SGD $5.3k from SG Pools, because I'm a diehard supporter of Lionel Messi. My bets in Argentina during world cup and their qualifiers match never disappointed, always win money bets. This morning only I'm win again $2.2k with Brazil win 1-0 match. Haha. We all have the same probability in that gambling that does not involve skills. In casino gambling, the rules give us a higher probability to lose than to gain, so on the long run the casino gains and we lose. Only if skills are involved, the probability can turn in our favor... or against... depending on our skills being good or bad. A smart person will never gamble, not a single dollar. What we all do in life is "risk taking", a rational decision that depends on our smartness, but where there is still a component of randomness. Example, this morning 4.45am match for Colombia vs Argentina, many say its 1-1 but im not believe. So, the rate in SG Pools is Colombia 2.80 vs Argentina 2.40, myself betting 10k each on both side actually in tickets. Because either side win then im win back my money plus profits. Unless its draw only I'm lost. But based on experience, they wont easily let draw because their spirits is to win enemy. Turn out now Colombia win 2-1 , Argentina lost. So, my 10k bet on Colombia 2.80 rate, come back $28k, mean im get back my betting money 20k, plus profits 8k extra now.
