So I matched with this guy. His pic he posted was quite attractive. But after chatting with him, it's not his real pic. Said he was 260lbs and was trying to prove a point that gays only care about physical appearance and they lie when they say personality matters more. He sent me his real pic and he looked absolutely nothin like him posted pic. Covered in sleeve tattoos, neck tattoos and 150lbs more than what he portrayed. I told him he was deceitful. He called me a jerk and that I was like other guys. Like what in the actual fuck. Go get counselling for ur insecurities.

We should try to make contact with people in person.   This worked fine in the days when there were no "social apps".

But, if we like to explore the apps, we should have a thick skin and not be bothered by what the reality is.  Of course, we should try not to make any commitments on these social apps. BW here is also a social app, and in its anonymity everything is guesswork.  Although we can trust Members more than "guests".

No reason to get angry.  At least he revealed and explained his deception.  He deserves pity for his obesity and tattoos.  And if he called you a jerk, you should have a skin thick enough that this bounces off 100%.

Don't think the platforms able to stop these. Anyway, the scamming methods are the same, don't think anyone will be cheated by then anymore.

But Scammers and fake profiles is something different.

the Scammers want your money, the fake profiles either cheat on looks/appearance and try to "seduce" someone to have fun with them or are catfishers (who enjoy duping people by sending them somewhere).
