Certain countries law enforcement for rape is hard. Unless you got evidence. Don't shower and go straight to police. Get them to check evidence for rapist's DNA.

Thanks for the great advice Derelict. This is a good tip in general regardless of your location and especially to those who goes abroad for vacations. We should know the nearest police station if the worst has happened. I was also hesitant to go to the police because I too was a foreigner there in Batam and that time was still not fluent in Bahasa Indonesia.

No worries. I read that advice they gave to female rape victims. Don't wash away evidence. But I would have been quite confused and lost too, given the circumstances.

 

Don't know whether it was Batam or Malaysia.  Heard someone reported robbery to police, Then later found out the police were in cahoots with the robbers as well as the security people. But of course cannot do anything.

I think you made the right choice for not reporting.  Indonesia has very strict law and punishment on gay sex, regardless.  Both of you could end up being detained for a long period of time, while waiting for the slow legal process of the court.
