Guest Guest
i did a check on what a male maid should be called cos i thought maid is used typically for female (interestingly, i found out the word "maid" is usually used for female servant and is closely associated with the word "maiden"). anyway, here's what i got from wiki.answers. Thought it is interesting. For sharing please:Question: "What is a male maid called?"Answer:Here are several answer contributions from a variety of WikiAnswer users:You could possibly use valet, manservant, housekeeper, houseman. The answer depends on the context of the question.I think the best is "domestic worker". Non-sexist, gender-neutral and describes the job perfectly.I also strongly support introducing men as domestic workers in Singapore. What kind of platform can we petition this issue? It's very inconvenient for single males to live in the same tiny 3-room HDB home with another young lady. Both of them will be at risk, depending on the situation. For instance, the lady may get raped or molested by a lustful "sir". The man can also be a victim, such as being accused of rape or molest when there's no such thing. It's also very inconvenient for guys who prefer to dress minimally at home due to hot weather. I like to wear singlet or go topless with just a pair of boxers and sleep nude sometimes. How to do that with a young lady in the house? Donatelloversace
Used to have a domestic helper when I was working in china. Hot bod, hot face. Was my masseur, till I offered him a job. Cleans the house, carries stuff for me during grocery shopping, massages me nightly , just like my very own xiao Bai Lian...... Guest MaidForRoom
If a Single male landlord can offer an HDB room in exchange of weekday domestic help such as cleaning, ironing, simple cooking and nightly massages, there will be young guys in a long queue to bid for it. She does my laundry and yes, those thongs too.. no questions at all..In fact, I gave her a set of beauty products for Hari Raya ..Now she knows the difference between facial wash, facial scrub and facial mask.I dont really support the idea of a male domestic helper..will it be 引狼入室。。入色 - 可能我们真的变成色伯伯。。。

Guest Travelling Man
I was taking over a position in Manila years ago and the rep leaving showed me around the company house before he left. He said he had a "Man Friday" who did all the housework and he was pretty good and no drama. Would I like to keep him on? Sure! He dressed in jeans and T shirt and did not look unusual at all. A few days after I moved in I noticed he began wearing cutoff jeans and the lower cheeks of his bum was showing. Other than that he was very good with looking after the house. One night I was out drinking and picked up a girl at a bar and brought her home. I took some Viagra and we went to the bed room and strated foolling around while I waited to get a hard on. The girl began to be reluctant to do anything and after a while this pissed me off. I gave up and got her a taxi and some money, then went to bed. I did not see my "manservant" at all during all this time.At about 2am I woke up thirsty and with a really hard erection from the Viagra. I went out the living room where the fridge was and opened the door and took a drink from a bottle of water. I head a voice say "Sir it looks like that girl did not satisfy you" I was a bit startled and still groggy from the booze and just mumbled something. I closed the fridge door and he was standing there. He went down on his knees and said "Let me try to fix that" . I felt his warm mouth slide over my cock and he gave me the best blow job I have ever had. It did not take long to cum. After that he helped my to the shower and washed me, squeezing the last cum drops out of my cock. I went to bed and fell asleep, my last thoughts wondering if this was a good thing or not.Next morning he brought my coffee in and saw I was hard again. He stripped off his cutoffs and took a bottle of baby oil from the bathroom, then lubed my cock and between his ass cheeks. He straddled me and slid onto my cock. He rode me for several minutes masturbating himself at the same time. He came over my chest, then got off and made me cum with his hand.Things were never the same after that. I finally was transferred not long after and was relieved, as he was no longer working well for me, although the sex was great.

abang
My current domestic worker has worked for my family (my aged mother and I) for quite some time. She was unable to understand, lest speak a word of English nor Mandarin but she picked it up fast. Now they are like burung kakak dua (2 good friends).. Ts, if your mom (like mine) is wheel-chaired bounded, then your choice of a maid should bea. someone in the early 30sb. married/divorced and have at least 1 childc. strong - not fat!d. at least 1.55 m and 40 kg, in order to support the older lady... What you can do>a. Buy an office/typist chair with side handles...your mother needs to sit up every now and thenb. Get adult pampers - the push up type. Guest Guest
A lot of the forumers in BW are too young to know that in the good old days of English colonialsim or western colonialism, ummarried old Western gentlemen often kept an Asian young male as a lived in help, he was often referred as the houseboy, or a type of male maid. For those old gentlemen who never got married, and lived on their own , in the big , giant sized colonial houses, people wondered how was the sexual drive released. now suspicion grew of what happen in the lazy afternoons when the heat is high and those who stayed in old colonial bungalows will have their siestas and the windows in the said houses are closed to keep out the heat, insects and prying neighbours eyes, all the more , at night when the lights go off, and the only sound you hear is ............................. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houseboy A houseboy is typically a male domestic worker or personal assistant who performs cleaning and personal chores. The term has history within British colonialism, military contexts, as well as in the Gay community.Contents1 British Commonwealth2 Military3 Cultural references4 See alsoBritish CommonwealthHistorically, houseboy was a Commonwealth term for a male housecleaner. He was usually a person of colour who worked for an English family living in a Commonwealth country. A female housecleaner was called a housegirl. Houseboys and housegirls often had to wear a uniform.MilitaryHouseboy was also used as an American slang term originating in World War II for a native boy who helped a soldier perform basic responsibilities like cleaning, laundry, ironing, shoe-shining, running errands, and the like. However, unlike the American "bootleboy" or British "batman (military)", a houseboy was not employed by an officer or noncommissioned officer but by the entry-level soldier or private as a means to reduce a very heavy workload or to cut corners on a large amount of work. The employment was at first condoned but later, and especially during the Korean War, soldiers who were caught employing a houseboy faced stiff penalties because a lot of them became expert thieves and could be either bribed for information or have their relatives kidnapped or killed for helping Americans. By 1982, Korean houseboys were again permitted (as at Camp Casey), and were generally middle-aged men conspicuously older than the young troops they served.[citation needed]

She could steal your food and eat, does not respect whoever in the house and lazy. cheers. =
glowingember
To TS: a) I've hired only Myanmar maid. Think theirs is the cheapest compared to Indo and Filipino maids. Also there is a difference between new maids and experienced maids. When my Myanmar maid was new, I paid her $450 + $15 (if she doesn't take day off). I was also inexperienced and asked my colleague for advice. That was almost 4 years ago. b) eveytine you need an agent for a new maid, you'll need to pay agent fee. Unless the new maid is not satisfactory within the first few days. c) my maid levy was $120 per month. But because of taking care of the elderly, the levy is now $60 per month. I don't know about waiver d) yes. It could be the first 6 months e) yes. Also for medical checkups, medicine and insurance in case maid runs away. f) yes do note that not everything is black and white. Also if your Mother has mobility issues, get a strong maid. you could also submit income tax relief if you are supporting your Mother. Popular Post abang
My late mother was wheelchair bounded from 2004 and hiring a domestic helper was the only solution. My top priority was someone who has children of their own. After taking care of their own kids, they should be able to handle the needs of an older person - the feeding and washing. Fortunately for me, I managed to get mine, an Indonesian, at the maids agency at the first instance. Before engaging her, I brought her to my flat and allowed her to know the scope of her job. She communicated with my mother, in the most hilarious pasar Melayu. The paperwork (including health insurance and medical check up and work permit) took 5 days after I paid a couple of thousand dollars to the agency. She reported for work promptly and to be a good employer, take your time to explain the use of electrical items in the flat. Mine had never seen, much lesser used, a microwave oven, a convection oven, induction cooker., Deep dryer, steamer, .Steam iron...Clothes dryer...The list goes on..Almost everything and anything. Once she settled in, it was important to discuss food matters. Perhaps I cooked, so it was not that difficult to explain the type of food for my mother and I. Give her some pocket money, ,say $50 initially to buy her female things on the first day...Yes I had never bought sanitary pads so I don't know those prices... Government subsidy is another area you must tapped onto. I paid none of the levy then as my mother had at least 3 handicaps listed by the authority.. check the internet and get a medical doctor to sign on the form , just any doctor whom had seen your mother. Mine was signed by the outpatient clinic doctor. Last but not least, be a good Abang, big brother to the domestic helper. You need her more than she needs you. Give her some leeway like time to rest, time to watch her soap operas, surf the internet, cook her type of food besides ours. Never scold her for any mistakes - just blame yourself for not explaining things properly to her. Remember to incentivise and reward her accordingly. My kakak was given domestic money to buy all the daily necessities...Please no questions asked..If she used the money to buy curry puffs, so be it.. Don't ever scruntise over a few dollars..Be as loving and caring towards her cos she is doing the job you refused. Guest Guest
Super well said by Abang. I think read what he has to say and you're good to go. Also, what people say about Pinoy Maid is quite true! Get an indon one and someone who hasn't worked in sg before. U must put in effort to teach her SLOWLY. But it should work out. Anw you are getting help from another human being so it's also luck. If she's cunning or sly or up to no good, won't rly know. Treat The Maid with respect and be kind. In turn she might do the same. I rly respect my helper! She's the best ^^
Guest Jerico Garcia
Yes, Pinoy maid is a no no. Get an Indo maid who is NEW to Singapore. If you get someone who worked here before, she has EXPECTATIONS. And lastly, no RETURNED maid too. They are returned to the maid agency by employers due to problems. sgmaven
Be careful if you are not at home most of the time except for your mum though. My advice is to hook up a CCTV system in every room. Sounds a bit paranoid, but after what happened with Pinoy maid that my mum had, and another my friend had, I think it is better safe than sorry. In both incidences, both my mum and my friend treated their domestic help very well. However, when it came time to go home at the end of their contract, they also stole stuff from them! Guest Guest with Filipino maid
In my opinion, there are/will be good and "not so good" maids from any country. It boils down to luck and how you treat them. They are leaving their family behind to work abroad. Treat them nicely and they will reciprocate. My personal experience. My parents got us(my siblings and I) a Filipino maid to take care of the family as both mum and dad are working adults. It's true that some Filipino maids might have slightly higher education background as compared to her counterparts from other country. She was able to help us out with our primary school homework. If we have any cuts or small illness, she can attend to it unless it requires a doctor, simply because she can read, she knows when to use a burnt cream when to use antiseptic cream. We gave her money to buy groceries and stuff she wants. Bring her along for holiday. Have her eating with us together(I know some maid are asked to eat behind or afterwards). We took care of her when she is sick also. My advise would be to treat ur domestic helper like a family for a start. We are all humans afterall, our heart will melt. You have more to lose than the maid.
sgmaven
1 hour ago, Guest Guest said: If you will give them the right treatment, whatever race they belong, you'll get their right service. May be my mum and friend (two separate domestic helpers) got the wrong person, but I do not think they mistreated their helps in any way. In fact, with my friend, the maid did not like to eat certain foods, and so the employers went out of their way to cater to her dietary preferences. Yet, she repaid them by stealing from them. As such, I do not believe that treating the domestic help automatically begets good service. Some times, give an inch, take a yard. Quote Слава Україні! azuchan
My aunt has been with her Filipino maid for the past 20 years already. No complaints only praises. Most importantly the patient whom the maid was looking after, must equally be good and polite too. Recent years have seen indo maid killing the patient because both could not get along while the owner (like abang) was away for work.
