Guest Tie dye
Met two tall young, strappling Mormons at Botanic Gardens MRT station. They were from Utah and Texas, and were in Singapore for two weeks and two months respectively. I asked them how were they able to enter Singapore during this Covid period three times. They did not answer me. They told me they were on a self paid full time evangelist mission in Singapore. They both look about 20, so cute in their uniform and name tags. One of them look like Tiger Woods, the other look 80% like the male lead acting as a lost Mormon in the movie Latter Day Saints. I told them i do not believe in Jesus, the hunky white Mormon who stood closer and closer to me as we spoke said "you do not have to believe. You just have to accept". Yah right, accept you as my bf? But I still won't go to your church with you. Now the million dollar question: Why are Mormon missionaries able to enter Singapore during the last two months specifically to spread their religion?! Just because they have two churches in Singapore??? But yet I cannot go to JB to shop and makan cheaply?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!

Guest Who approved them?
This 4G govt is looking very lame. Missionary work of the Mormon kind is apparently serious, urgent and important enough work that can still get the greenlight when we cannot even travel freely. Guest Who approved them?
Mormons are allowed to have more than one wife, yet they are not allowed to even drink coffee or tea. Such conservative religions are super readily embraced and pandered to by our govt it seems. Whose agenda does that serve? Our conservative Christian government that hopes our people stay conservative so they will always be re-elected?

They can be pesky proselytizing, but most are good people. And it is not a bad system to make them dedicate one year of their life to "missionary work". I have talked to them several times when they came to my door. I have tried to give them my honest opinion, very logical, and they listened politely. But I doubt that this made any good. They may be agnostics already, but they do their proselytizing like a cultural thing. Like so many smart Jews who still go to the synagogue as a tradition. So treat them well and, who knows, they may be willing to proselytize in a more intimate setting.

I was actually thinking of saying to the white Mormon can I go over or you at my place at night to explain to me your religion. I am very atheistic and will take at least days if not months to be proselytized. Then I reached my Holland Village stop. He slipped me a card of his church in Singapore. His last name sounded French. Turned out his ancestors were from France. No wonder the flirting so naturally with strangers in public. As he spoke, his arms came closer and closer j to co tact with my arms, his eyes looking deep into mine, his words not making much sense anymore. I'm sure he knew that and it was done intentionally to shift my attention from religion to him! Lol

Guest Tie dye
The problem is they looked so pristine, pure and "innocent" in that neat nerdy boyish haircut and uniform, even while one of them was proselytizing in a flirtatious manner I was even afraid that sharing with them too much my secular views on their religion will start to tarnish them and deliver them straight to hell eventually. Yeah, a lot of male Mormon missionaries got that kind of look. A huge turn on for me! But sadly, there's a saying, that these Mormon missionaries "flirt to convert". And as someone pointed out, most of them are straight. Not sure why they can come in now. Maybe they have a special pass or work permit, I'm not sure. Unless they're from India, usually as long as they have a valid pass, they will be allowed into S'pore. Nonetheless, be nice to them if you meet them, regardless of your religious beliefs. It's somebody's kid, and they are still very young. Also, you may not agree with Mormon doctrince, but try to understand that for many of these young (and hot) Mormon boys, that's the only religious system they ever knew and grew up with. I ever read some online posts by some ang moh girls in America who were talking about the male Mormon missionaries. It seems like the "flirt to convert" tactic is commonly used by them, especially if the Mormon guy himself knows that he looks attractive. So the girls in that forum were basically warning each other not to fall for a Mormon missionary, no matter how friendly or charming he appears, because apparently, they are pressured to make converts, just like a sales quota. So some male missionaries will use their sex appeal to try to get converts. LOL I don't think the Mormons will try to influence you to vote for the PAP, although it is true that in America, most Mormons tend to vote Republican. Guest Try and see
Although Mormon missionaries are instructed to always be within sight and sound of each other, they have another interesting rule: "If you live in an apartment with more than one room, always sleep in the same room as your companion, but not in the same bed. Arise and retire at the same time as your companion. Do not stay up late or get up early to be alone." https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/missionary-handbook/missionary-conduct?lang=eng I'm guessing it's because in the past, some of the Mormon guys have ever been caught sharing a bed and having fun in their rooms 😈

I don't know if they thought I was trying to hit on them, but they seemed quite secretive about their backgrounds, even though they had nothing to hide. It took me a lot of asking for them to finally feel comfortable to tell me about their background, what they studied in school, etc. Maybe they were instructed not to be overly friendly with the opposite sex? Still, your experience sounds nice. 😍 Actually, I don't mind Mormons as people, but their Church really teaches rather strange things. Guest Not the Same
Though I don't believe in their prophet Joseph Smith, I tend to get them to pray for me, whenever they struck a conversation with me. They also gave me a small thin booklet on how to pray which I roughly knew. Once, I told them I do not know how to pray, and was shy about doing so, they insisted that I try, which I did to their shocking expression I actually did so much better than they thought. They were very nice and encouraging people and won't impose on you if you are not comfortable in their belief. Once they are extremely comfortable that you are curious and convinced, they gave you a "bible" which is very different from the original bible we see today. I didn't feel comfortable after reading its first chapter, as the characters and landscape is completely different.

I restricted my comment to a particular guest, Guest Guest. Congratulations MOTHER of Guests, Sunday is your day (at least in America). The good looking Ang Moh in your video is indeed attractive. Also the fact that he learned to play the piano instead of baseball of football may indicate that he is one of us. But for me, the Asians are more cute. Isn't there a Chinese Mormon community in your country that could provide young missionaries? Maybe some willing to proselytize in Houston? Even the ones from Hong Kong would be welcomed. . Edited May 7, 2021 by Steve5380

Isn't there a Chinese Mormon community in your country that could provide young missionaries? Maybe some willing to proselytize in Houston? Unfortunately, the Mormon community in S'pore is very small, although they do send out missionaries overseas. But unless you're in their church, you won't really meet them or know who they are. Below is one of the very rare new articles on our local Mormon Church: Elder Wendell Loh, 21, (left) is preparing to serve as a full-time missionary in Lyon, France for the next two years. Elder Thaddeus Ng, 22, has been serving in Singapore and West Malaysia for the past 19 months. (Note: This article is dated 2017, so these two S'porean missionaries would have finished their service by now.) Behind the Belief: Mormons keep the faith in Singapore https://sg.news.yahoo.com/behind-belief-mormons-keep-faith-singapore-073605021.html Elder Leonard Woo, 61, of the Mormon church. His four children are all serving as missionaries. PHOTO: Nurul Amirah/Yahoo News Singapore
