From MOH:

Cessation of Mask-Off Activities

9. To reduce the risks of community transmission, both indoor and outdoor dine-in F&B establishments (including hawker centres and food courts) will only be able to offer takeaway and delivery options. Strenuous indoor exercise classes, or strenuous individual and group indoor sports and exercise activities, will also cease. In addition, personalised services which require masks to be removed (e.g. facials, saunas, make-up services), singing, and the playing of instruments that require intentional expulsion of air (e.g. wind or brass instruments) will also not be allowed. These restrictions will not apply to medical and dental consultations that require patients to have their masks removed. Non-medical facial treatments will not be exempted from these restrictions.

Nice,  UK is celebrating their freedom day and here we are,  lock down again.

Irritating as these white monkeys are just try and error, lack of concrete plan and proper execution.

Just look at HKG and even Taiwan,  how they fight back after the spike in may.

oh pls, UK is one of the worst examples - the 'freedom day' is a joke when the situation is still so bad.

among the ang moh countries, Australia is probably the best in their management and measures.

A lot of shouting maybe, bargaining, and many actually dun wear mask properly. Money exchange hands, smoke and chit chat, plus the delta variant r-naught is around 5, which is highly transmissible. If u see some hawkers many already have their mask on their chin. most of the time.

Return to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert): Dining-in to be suspended, group sizes back down to 2 - CNA (channelnewsasia.com)

Return to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert): Dining-in to be suspended, group sizes back down to 2

SINGAPORE: Dining-in will be suspended and group sizes for social gatherings will go back down to two people as Singapore returns to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) to combat a rise in local COVID-19 cases.

The measures will be in effect from Thursday (Jul 22) until Aug 18 and will supersede the measures that were introduced on Monday, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a press release.

The Government will review the measures in two weeks and adjust them based on the situation at that time, the ministry added.

The COVID-19 multi-ministerial task force decided not to differentiate the measures for those who are fully vaccinated, but will consider doing so when vaccination rates are higher or when the situation has stabilised, said task force co-chair Gan Kim Yong in a press conference on Tuesday.

“We know that this news is extremely disappointing and frustrating to many, in particular for businesses in sectors such as F&B. These sectors have been very badly hit given the earlier restrictions, they have been working very hard to adapt to the changing regulations,” said Mr Gan, who is also Minister for Trade and Industry.

From Thursday, group sizes for social gatherings will be reduced from five to two people.

There will also be a cap of two distinct visitors per household per day. People should continue to limit their social gatherings to not more than two per day, MOH said in its press release.

Similar to the previous period of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) from May 16 to Jun 13, grandchildren being cared for daily by their grandparents will not count towards the cap on the number of visitors or social gatherings.

“Grandparents are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19, to protect both themselves and their grandchildren. To reduce the risk of transmission, grandparents should also minimise intermingling between grandchildren from different households,” said the ministry.

All F&B establishments, including hawker centres and food courts, can only offer takeaway and delivery options from Thursday.

Task force co-chair Lawrence Wong acknowledged that many businesses had been looking forward to reopening and would have made preparations to differentiate their customers based on vaccination status.

“I’m sure (they) would be very disappointed to know that they now have to close and cannot allow for customers to dine in, especially for our F&B operators," he said.

The return to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) was “a very difficult decision to make” and one that the task force deliberated over, Mr Wong said.

“But based on the assessment of the way the cases have developed, the many clusters that we are seeing, and how it's likely to have transmitted through into the community, we've decided that we have to put in place something to slow down the transmission.

“The general message to everyone under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) is please stay home, minimise your movements and social interactions as much as you can,” said Mr Wong, who is also Finance Minister.

SINGAPORE — To manage the spike in COVID-19 community cases and the speed at which new clusters are emerging, Singapore will return to its Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) measures and ban dine-in at food and beverage (F&B) establishments from Thursday (22 July) to 18 August.

In a press release on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that this is to reduce the risk of community transmission.

During this period of close to four weeks, both indoor and outdoor dine-in F&B establishments, including hawker centres and food courts, will only be able to offer takeaway and delivery options.

Similarly, strenuous indoor exercise classes, or strenuous individual and group indoor sports and exercise activities, will also cease (ALL GYMS MUST CEASED OPERATIONS FROM 22ND JULY TO 18TH AUGUST), the MOH said. "In addition, personalised services which require masks to be removed (e.g. facials, saunas, makeup services), singing, and the playing of instruments that require intentional expulsion of air (e.g. wind or brass instruments) will also not be allowed," the ministry said.

Group sizes reduced to a maximum of 2 persons

Permissible group sizes for social gatherings will also be reduced from a maximum of five persons to a maximum of two persons, together with a cap of two distinct visitors per household per day.

"Individuals should continue to limit their overall number of social gatherings to not more than two per day, whether to another household, or meeting with friends and family members in a public place," the MOH said.

To allow families’ current childcare arrangements to continue, grandchildren being cared for daily by their grandparents will not be counted towards the cap of two distinct visitors per household, or to the number of social gatherings per day.

"Grandparents are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19, to protect both themselves and their grandchildren. To reduce the risk of transmission, grandparents should also minimize intermingling between grandchildren from different households," the MOH said.

Let's wish them success but looking at what happen with Israel and US,  I doubt so. Australia and New Zealand are the better ones.

Looking at what the white monkeys have been doing since the start of this pandemic is really disappointing.  SG is a tiny nation and with only one political party that controls everything and that sporean are the most easy to control and manipulate, why are we not able to control it well as compare to HKG and Taiwan?

Let's not forget the reason for last Jul election is that so they can get it over and focus on handling this pandemic,  what focus may I know?

Only 36 deaths over the course of 1.5 yr and we are going back to phase 2 again? This is really absurd, it has already proven the previous lockdown doesn't work. Why can't they just treat it as a more contagious flu and prescribed those infected with therapeutic drugs?

Is tough job that's why we pay million dollars,  if simple like MacDonald job,  $1700 per month only. So if want to get million dollars,  make sure they perform.

They blame the vaccinate rate is not high enough to stop all these surge in cases. So indirectly it is the people fault for not all going for vaccinate.

They themselves didn't bring enough vaccine and even tried delaying the second shot to 6-8 weeks instead of the recommended 3-4 weeks. Then they also open up the registration windows so slowly and still can allow people to fly in. Besdies, HK and TW vaccination rate is much lower than ours, but still their spread is so much better controlled. So blame who?

Think now is smsing people to bring forward back to 3-4 weeks for 2nd shot. Really keep flip flopping using whatever ‘science’ to back their narrative and convenience like the mask fiasco. And when several household in the same block affected, tell people to exercise use stairs to breath in fresh air, a few days later say stairways can be a place of transmission, wtf right?

This move is primarily to protect the unvaccinated, in particular the 200,000 seniors aged above 60.

Many of these seniors refuse to be vaccinated  because they fear the imagined side-effects more than

the actual dangers of Covid-19. The rest of the country has taken the "risk" with the mRNA vaccines. Is it fair then to put the

whole country through yet another round of lockdown and economic hardship for their sake?

But on compassionate grounds, we will have to bear with it.

I really wonder what LKY will say to all these on-and-off "heightened alert" if he is stil alive and well. SARS was really so much better handled than this. Well done to those 61%! We all love you.

Compassionate ground only for those with medical condition that cannot take the vaccine but for other stubborn fucker who simply refuse, perhaps if they kena they would also have antibodies. Apparently majority kena from the KTV cluster are not vaccinated.

Actually this is the best time to boost vaccination,  let the vaccinated come out since they are considered less risky and lock down the unvaccinated, then they will rush to get vaccination.

Yeap,  there is no such thing as free in SG,  is only "deferred payment". All the cash and subsidies given to individual and company,  right down to vaccination,  mask, token,  test kit and oximeter, someone have to foot the bill and it won't be the govt.

No use to only lockdown the unvaccinated, because many of them stay with vaccinated people who can still pass it to them.

The main thing is to keep them at home to prevent them from coming out to harm others. If they kena at home,  send them to hospital and they would have develop antibodies which is  as good as vaccination.

You are so naive, shutting down certain services doesn't prevent people from going out. They can still go round the island to do groceries, buy food, workout etc.

The govt should have gone ahead with the endemic plan, allowing the sauna & fitness businesses to stay open but impose restriction on those that are not vaccinated.

So.. I believed that we should lock down our entire island for a good 6 months. No one in, no one out. Not even a fly can go in and out.

And all fnb, saunas, gyms, and outdoor activities ceased, all office workers work from home.

Children will be home studying via ZOOM (Home Based Learning)

Only essential services remained open such as medical, banking & supermarket. The rest all ceased.

Because of the KTV Cluster, 1 for all, all for 1 lor.. Everyone suffer lor

Military personnel will patrol the street with spf daily basis. Catch and fined those who flout the rules and curfews.

This way the virus will die out faster.

Sorry, u can stay in your homes and rot till the next year for all the gahmen cares.  That doesn't mean flights should stop.  Sg will always be open.

Rather than typing your opinions on a forum, you best queue up for your groceries.  They aren't exactly all local.
