I think it is quite a good rate, considering that there is no entrance fee (entrance fee was about $300+, you see that U.P. would be the one with entrance fee), though I don't know why this price is just slightly higher than the usual/renewal fee. Not sure if the promotion next is better, not forgetting the 9% GST also eh. (Renewal is at $54/month with 8% GST)

i actually signed up back in jan 2020, was a super good promo at $32/mth for 15 mths (12 + 3 mths free). No entrance fee. but i didnt renew due to covid period.

 

now i see they have increased to $55/mth, but i did notice that this was better than last few quarters when rates went up to even $70+/mth before. yes next year 9% gst, its either they increase rates or run a good promo again.

Oh, so your initial time was $30/month, then the price went up to $40/month after that and March this year, the price went up further to $50/month (all prices quoted without GST), so I think they won't increase the rate that soon eh.

 

Since you were once a member, you could try to see if they could allow you to renew instead of joining as new sign up (quoting Covid as reason)? Maybe they might let you eh, no harm asking yeah, haha.

I think the entrance fee is there most of the time (if I'm not wrong)? But when I joined last time, I also took the promotion without the entrance fee (like joining fee kind of thing)... However, I think they have such promotions quite regularly, just need to catch it at the right time (I remembered some promotions previously had some amount of entrance fee included, so not worth it).

Sure, but I'm don't think they would release such information at this stage eh, usually the first half a year, there might not be any promotion or the promotion was just not as 'attractive'. This year was because of the price hike (see my post dated 18 Feb above), and you got to renew at its old price $43.20/month with 8% GST.

 

Anyway, maybe you are 'lucky' to know more, haha.

Assuming they told you that there is only this admin fee of $59 and there is no entrance fee (usually a few hundred dollars), and also assuming it is inclusive of GST like the promotion, then recalculating the promotion with this fee will work out to (for new sign ups only😞

the next promo will be on 1 sept.

they do away with this admin/entrance fees for awhile previously. now they are bringing it back so i doubt they will do away with it anytime soon.

Anyway, if you look again, they actually used different terms for new sign ups: under (Main), they called it 'joining fee'; while under (Term), they called it 'admin fee' - to me, they ain't the same eh...

 

Well, if you had been checking out their promotions from past to present, their admin/entrance fees fluctuate between $100+ to $300+, if I didn't remember wrongly (and yes, there were times that they excluded such fees).

I suppose most of us using this gym would likely continue on, this $200 could be used to offset their current promotion (same one as the National Day promotion held earlier) - $45/month (inclusive of GST) for 18 months and get 2 months free. After offsetting $200, it would cost $30.50/month for the whole 20 months' duration - near the pre-Covid monthly subscription (which was $30/month before GST) before their 2 rounds of price increased in recent years (currently $50/month before GST).

 

This is just a suggestion, you might disagree of course, haha.

Well, I did the calculation a few times, it is still $30.50/month as follows:

$45 x 18 = $810 (total amount to be paid)

$810 - $200 = $ 610 (actual payment amount, after offsetting NS LifeSG Credits)

$610 / 20 = $30.50/month (final price for that 20-month period)

You will have access to the swimming pool just outside the gym. In the changing room, you will find the showers, jacuzzi and steam room. Towels are also provided.

my only worry is... i fear that the equipment at SAFRA Mount Faber is over-used & has a bigger crowd during peak-hours compared to A/Fitness or F/First. thx 😃

NUS Guild House seems pretty exclusive. If exclusivity is what you are looking for and you can well afford it, why not? 

As for crowd size, it would not be a fair comparison since it depends on the outlet of AF or FF you are comparing it with.

I would consider continue with E1 but the steam rooms really CMI. I think only CCK one is decent. The one at TPY and Punggol (where I usually frequent) are really CMI. Anyone feels the steam rooms at E1 could be better maintained?
