Guest Guest
Late sleepers and insomnia sleepers are totally difference. Some people like to sleep late but they have no problem falling asleep. Nowadays i always tell myself to go to sleep early, like 10pm plus, but always ended up 11pm plus then go sleep. Bad habit and bad for health. Non worker like me sometimes stay up quite late like 3am watching YouTube or finding something to do. Especially now hot weather. I no longer observe the clock when I need to sleep or wake up. If you no need to work, surely can sleep and wake up anytime. If no need to work the next day, i would sleep even more late, like after 11.30pm to 12am plus. Which i still find unhealthy even no need to work. No work should still try to sleep by 11pm is good for health. However, seems like there is always many things that can do at night, and i don't feel like going to sleep early.

One of the blessings to reach the age to being retired later in life is the absence of compulsions to follow a rigid schedule. It is not a complete freedom however, since society still exists around us and we need to accommodate to it. For example, we may want to do things very early in the morning before rush time, like going to a gym before it gets crowded. From a health point of view, our inborn circadian rhythm, the "circadian clock" in our body is guided by the cycles of light and dark, and it is the healthiest for us to sleep while it is dark. I also have to force myself to go to sleep between 10 and 11 PM, and it is tempting to continue one's activities deep into the night. But once the habit to stop everything on time is made, it is not difficult to follow.

Guest Mr Dracula
There is so much to do after midnight, drinking hot coco and watching a few cats loitering around. under the street lights. Then read books, I am halfway thru the "pilgrim progress" and do some research on youtube, specifically inspirations subject, by the time 3am (still early for me), I will do a bit of quiet house cleanings, mopping, dry cleaning, decluttering,After milking every bit of the treasured sleepless hour, free from bustle and hustle of city noise, I head to bed at 5am and wake up at 1pm for lunch - feeling refreshed . If you need to wake up at 6am-7am to go work, how to sleep after 1am? Even you only need 5 hours of sleep, but in a long run very bad for health. Steve5380
DON'T GIVE UP. KEEP TRYING !!! Nothing we do between, say, 10PM and early hours the following morning is essential for our survival. And if something would be, this can be done during normal diurnal hours. We can slowly adapt to a healthy daily sleep. Choose a time to go to sleep and respect it by imposing YOUR WILL over everything else. Then, if possible, make your bedroom totally dark and silent, and free of any movements except your own. Lay in bed, close your eyes , let your thoughts wander, including those that you won't fall asleep. Then open your eyes and realize that it is now the next morning, many hours later. Little-by-little, move this bed time back until it is before midnight, maybe 10 or 11 PM. I have managed to be serious about a bed time no later than 11 PM. And after this, I wake up at 7 AM the next morning, after 8 hours. The only exception is one day a week when I have to go to Aikido training at 5:30 AM ( yes, we are so crazy... )

Most people sleep between 5-6 hours plus. Going to bed early doesn't mean you can fall asleep straight away or can sleep thru the entire hours. I have tried going to bed at 10pm since i need to wake up around 5.30am but always only managed to fall asleep at 11pm plus or even 12am. You put on your earbuds, taped your mouth and probably putting on an eyemask to block off vision, you are letting your guard down, from all sort of possible intrusion or emergency call from your phone, or someone frantically knocking on your door because your house on fire...etc

I don't need them because not much external noise comes into my house. I hear noises, yesterday I woke up because an Amazon delivery was left on my door with very little noise. And I have enough fire alarms. Follow my advice and sleep well!

No trouble your sperm to help you sleep. There are various ways to get yourself to fall asleep. One is to read a big, dull book. Another is to work out until all of your muscles ache. At that point, your body will tell you to relax and go into a satisfying, deep slumber.

My boss once told him "do you need me to check on you at 10 pm every night to ask you to sleep?" Adult will go to sleep cause they tired and know they need the energy to work the next day Only kids and children will stay up late cause they are so used to falling asleep at school in class etc. That this is the lifestyle they know. Another reason don't hire fresh grad. They think they are entitled to pay. Sleep in the job. Steve5380
One cannot negate the importance of getting sufficient sleep every night, like 7 or 8 hours. This means that a need for early start of the day -> early going to bed. In my martial art group, once a week we gather at 5:30AM in a local park and practice for an hour. This day I get up at 4:30AM feeling like a victim, and after the practice I am in my best mood. After returning home, I have the best of days. "Bird who raises early catches the most worms". Steve5380
My sleep time is usually from 11PM to 7AM, 8 hours. On the day I get up at 4:30AM I get only 5 1/2 hours sleep. But it is the "early" that feels weird, not the lack of sleep. And strangely, the training so early makes the whole day feel good! I may change the hours so that I get up early every day, that may be positive. And I suspect that late-sleeping does just the contrary, makes the day too short. You can always make up the lost hour for a short afternoon nap, like what sleepy Joe always did and since both of you are of the same age, the need for longer rest hour should be about the same.
