Middle age crisis. Biological changes that triggers agitation.  Beginning of life rejection and started judging their surroundings activities to prevent others from getting in their way of presumed  self righteousness and thus hindering their preferred self interest which is considered highly sovereign to them.  They need love, acceptance, attention and most importantly exaulted form of support as a form of protection in their self imprisoned world and everything outside are considered crimes that frustrated their perfect well beings and this ought to be defended and felt offended.

As to my understanding the lady who made the complaint published a video of the incident on tiktok. 

 

The photo of a person or a video of a person is protected by privacy laws in Singapore. 

Publishing such content picturing the image of a person without the prior consent amounts to doxxing. 

 

It is also considered harrassment. 

 

My recommendation to sue the lady for doxxing was justified. 

 

Note that the tiktok video has been removed.

Note (on 15/04/2022): After review of incidents on other platforms, it was the son of the elderly man who published the video. In that sense Ms "Make a bit fuss out of nothing" did not dox.

However, it's good to remind on the thin line of doxxing under current rules!

This Karen incident should give you good feelings that the tragedies in Singapore are not so severe as they are elsewhere in the world.

It IS true irony.  The irony that while we discuss crimes of mass murder of civilians, genocide in the thread about Ukraine,  here we pay undue attention to a "Karen" with a big mouth.   In a way,  this topic is a relief from the seriousness of the other one,  and we should find it comical.

Again, there are coward attackers everywhere in the world.  In the US they are just attracting more attention.  I am an 'elderly' and maybe vulnerable to cowards,  but I have managed to not LOOK vulnerable.  The only coward attackers I would respect are the ones with a gun, because even a little child can blast me away with a gun.  Otherwise, they will recover from their cowardice in the hospital.

What the man did was out of curiosity.  Especially if you intend to buy creams or lotion but hesistant whether the smell is overpowering for daily use. Thus it is perfectly normal to take a brief whiff whether the cap is sealed or not.   I did it regularly when I buy shampoo, cream, or even lip gloss.  I like to place my nose closer to see whether that is the kind of smell I like, to save me the money of buying the wrong item.   However, the "Karen" took it too seriously and escalated the matter to NTUC staff, causing unnecessary stress on the man.   Her action was similar to someone forbiding you to cross a red traffic light when the entire road is deserted.  She needs to think out of the box and give other people the benefit of doubts, but she didn't.  Her story, did not appeal as someone who could think, but rather more sensitive and easily hurt type.

It's amazing that she can bring the presence of the daughters into this right now. It appears as if she is trying to claim that she was "teaching" her daughters that it was wrong for the elderly man to do that. But her method of "teaching" is atrocious and I hope she will never be a teacher and it's unfortunate that she is anyone's mother.

 

If the business wanted to be stingy and did not want to bear the cost of putting up a simple tester, and instead it wanted to bear the risk of people opening up an item to test it out, then it is the business which should bear the cost of throwing out the opened tested product. And if anyone is unfortunate enough to pick up an opened item, then they should bring it back to the business for an exchange, and let the stingy business bear that cost again.

 

Ms Karen should have just shut up and mind her own business. If there's any "animal" here, it is her. She claimed that she didn't realized that she was being filmed. It seems that she will only put on a better behavior if she had known she is on camera. She truly deserves all the backlash she is getting right now. Let's hope her daughters turned out better than their mother.

Conclusion is to get CCTV to play back to see who is the one making up stories. (If there is CCTV recording ) otherwise difficult to solve the situation unless gather all the evidence and people who saw what happened, as well as the NTUC staff who was on scene. 

 

But for now I am riding with the poster who posted the video because the woman at the video spoke something very confusing, as if trying to con her way out.

 

Update : the video was seem to have been taken down.  Cant playback and watch and decipher again..

Didn't know America has so many hidden snipers.  You can't go out safely without getting hit.  Worse than a missed missile attack from Russia.

Well...  I have lived over 44 years in the US,  and I have never been hit by a bullet.  Remember, we are 330,000,000 Americans.  So if only one in ten has been shot, this is 33 MILLION bullets!   A lot of lead!

You have have at least 1% Karen, each dotted on every state of America. The chance of getting shot by them is pretty high.  As we spoke, they have already formed a "Karen Club" across the continent, ready for sniper assignment.
