I frequent this place on weekend. The good thing about this place is they have variety of visitor, from lean build to stocky to chubby; all nationalities. Lately they have more foreigner during overseas holiday. The place may be run down, stuffy & smelly over the 9 years but the crowd is ever participative. Also the 9 Visit pass for $99 is great value; I am not complaining.

Haven't been there for 7 years. This year 01Jan decided to drop it with 2 friends in the evening. Inspite of the nice reception received by the counter and the food/beverage counter staff and free stuff given, we are not going back there.

The whole place just gives me the creeps with the run downs,and sad dilapidated state it is in. Its the energy I am not comfortable with.

It is about the standard of hygiene they failed to observed.

One of my friend actually felt sick the very next day.

They employ part timer to clean both level, thats why no longer have the standard we expect of. Also last saturday when I ordered their curry chicken, they told me they run out of rice. How disappointing.

But their unlimited change of fresh towel is something no other sauna can match.

I agree. Their towels are fresh and have no smell. I dare not eat there after seeing the cook went up to cruise and came came down to handle food and up again. I do like 17. It is spacious and comfortable.

The only thing I didn't like is that there is no air conditioning during the afternoon. Which makes it quite unbearable when you are in any of the rooms.

And yes, the upstairs toilet/shower areas could do with more cleaning.

Other than that I don't have much to complain about. I use the gym and that large pool each time.

Anyone beefy (not chubby) dudes want to join me? Haha ... just kidding!

I am not against staffs cruising other members before/after their shifts.

I also think hygiene and impression are important.

Though the quality of the guys has dropped, but it is still very crowded on the wknds.

Crowds are also picking up on Sunday.Compared to other saunas, I still more A grade hunks to cruise plus a bigger andmore comfortable space, too.

1. Toilets need some upgrading, look old and untidy. Though still clean.

2. Mouth wash dispensers needs upgrading

3. Mattress in some of the rooms needs to change. Kind of like torn and "cracks". Felt rough and scratchy..

4. Rooms are clean and sufficient "stuff"

Crowd

1. Around 30 in total or maybe more....

2. Mainly 26yo and above. No youngster.

3. Bod wise, from fit toned, stocky, stocky fit, lean and some chub. Mainly fit, toned, stocky and average.

It's been awhile since I visited 17, so I decided to go down to see how's the crowd. It was leather or nothing nite on Wednesday. Was surprised to see that it was quite crowded between 7-ish till 8-ish. After 9, the crowd thinned. Lots of actions in the dark cell area. The crowd seems to congregate there where there were lots of touching, sucking, etc. Was immediately grabbed and sucked by those hungry vultures. Had to wrangle myself out of the dark cell area.

standard dropped bcoz the staffs are not too conscientious in maintaining the place. Plus some of them worked too long and had become jaded. Others are more keen to go up to crusie after work. saw the new new manager, quite decent and nice guy. Hope he look into this.

Quality of men now very mixed, with the CMI to the chubs and to the bodybuidler type.

Some not-so-attractive memebers/regulars are not so happy becoz they got to compete with other more gorgeous members to get these guys. But they always end up being the losers. My main grip with 17 (and probably the other places, too) is the air conditioning.

You can't possibly remain on the 2nd floor for long when the a/c is not turned on.

I visited 17 in the afternoon on two occasions: once at around 12noon and another time around 3pm.... and it was HORRIBLE. It is way too hot, stuffy and uncomfortable.

Sexual activity is totally out of the question under those conditions.

I really wish their would make it colder. Like in the 16-18 deg zone. Or at least at the usual California Fitness gym level .... so that we can sweat all we want!

The A/C has to be in operation during the hours of business. That is the health regulation requirement as it is considered an enclosed and not naturally ventilated building. If a complaint is lodged, they could be subjected to scrutiny and investigation.

I've used the gym there. I've worked out in a towel and nude a couple of times. You need confidence to work out nude as other guys drop by the gym for a look. If you're an exhibitionist it's a great turn on. Most people work out in their underwear. Gym can be hot at lunchtime as the air conditioning is not always on downstairs.

The situation is ok... although the state of some of the facilities are going down.

The dry sauna is not working although the steamroom is pumping out good heat!!

The shower area on the ground floor was flooded by 5.30pm when I was there

on Wed. The floors are a bit slimy too because of the lather from the shower gels.

Guys wise... well I've been fortunate each time I am there. Sure those pumped up

Actually is not about the entrance fee, it is okay if I can have a good time.

Since it is one of the longest existing gay sauna that is still in operation in singapore, it's probably not feasible financially to renovate. But I am concerned about their cleanliness. Sad to say that some saunas in chinatown have lower charges but better hygenie standards. I also think that staffs/mgt are probably 'non-chalant' after so many years. This could happen to any establishment after a while.

Quality of men cruising there had gone down. I have better luck at other establishments which is more value-for-money.
