Guest Guest Posted April 24, 2015 Report Share Posted April 24, 2015 Anyway, Mediacrap needs to work harder in this age and time... after cable TV, the internet is the place to watch exciting TVprogrammes.. the recent BLOCKBUSTERs to be shown in Channel U makes me cringe...so outdated...Jin Xiu Xian was so 2014..Captain Cool was so 2013..... 冷饭。。。 Captain Cool quite recent liao by Channel U standards. Recently they were showing 谈情说案 which is from 2010. Anyway TVB likely has some kind of exclusive contract with StarHub, that's why the TVB dramas shown by Channel U are all at least 2 years old. Maybe they should try to get the rights for HKTV series.But generally Mediacorp seems to treat Channel U like an unwanted stepchild. Although the Chinese Lian He Zao Bao predicted Rebecca may win, but her role in that show wasn't too convincing for her to win the best actress award as it is a funny character...well...again...it all depends on the judges taste...Joanne and Yvonne low chance to win as their characters weren't as good as Rui En. In fact I was thinking Felicia may be the main competitor to fight with Rui En for this award as can see that mediacorp is trying to promote her after she came back from her studies and her character in the 动荡的年代 was quite convincing....we shall see tonight if there is any surprised for this award! Her main competitor in my views is Joanne Peh who acted just 2 episoes from this same show and got nominated...but I must admit that her character especially the last part where she was raped and passed away was really sad touching and convincing....judges may just award this to her based on this short scene....however, if mediacorp wants to promote Carrie which is quite high chance now...this award may just be given to her....and most probably she may just go home tonight with 3 Main big awards -creating history the same as Fann Wong many years back in star awards who received Best Supporting Actress, Best New comer and Top 10 Most popular female award.
