Aileen Tan was photogenic but her second place always put her in secondary roles - in fact, in some dramas, she simply shouted her lines - including the latest. Jazreel was also pretty but her eyes are too slanted..her third position was justifed. In the spirit of generating some ideas and further discussion, may I know what you would suggest Zoe and/or her manager do to: 1. improve her acting skills; 2. improve her public reputation or at least deflect criticism (whether justified or otherwise); 3. elevate her profile and stature locally? Zoe is better with roles that are more exaggerated and less realistic, while Fann is better with period drama roles. Ivy and HBR are better with realistic office-y kind of roles. And because the scripts after 1996 or so were more or less family or office based, Ivy and HBR apparently became 'better'. In the end, its just the script. I venture to suggest her downhill slide was her own issue, nothing to do with MediaCorp's scriptwriters. She seemed to have lost her spark for life and her raison d'etre for acting, content to just coast along and ride on her titles. Maybe her media friends also feed her inaccurate reports about her popularity and reception locally. Otherwise there's no way she can be blindsided and lousy for so long.
