Yes, it's quite obvious CHW was aiming at Rui En, he mentioned a young actress who won many awards and yet is so stuck up.

At first thought he could be referring to J Aw, but he praised her for being smiling and professional in last week's interview.

So who else can it be?  Furthermore, he did have a number of scenes with her in Dream Makers.

As much as I dont dislike dyt, I feel that he will be better of back in China, as in with better prospects. His career doesnt seem to be propelling anywhere with Mediacorpse, where he should have been very big after the Little Nonya. The Shanghainese student role in A song to remember, was obviously written with him in mind, befitting his background, age and image. Instead, that role went to the Cantonese origin QYT, who was more than decade older than that role.

 

Though he might or might not be bigger in China, but at least I am sure he will be happier to be home based. Anyway, his fans can now look forward to Alfred, the new winner of Hey Gorgeous, who has quick an uncanny resemblance to dyt, to displace him.

 

Nonetheless, the moniker DYT sounds much manlier than dxy.

She cries and is emotional over friendship/loved ones loss but she puts her own interests (fame in this case) first over other people's priorities, in both ruien and ahgong. jeanette aw acted qte well in her remorse. her remorse is indeed half-hearted; the "im very sad but i have to do it coz im more impt) to me, that reflects her selfish nature.

 

i think if other things happen, she will also be self-centred. not just being lost in fame. just look at her r/s with jason; she don't even give a damn to how he felt when he lost his friend, but is caught up with her own emotional needs. another case of self-centredness : her own security comes first before other people's feelings. thats why i think this role is well-written. people are not blatantly selfish and do catfights all the kind. she chooses to lose herself in the fame. haha, just my opinions!

yah i also think so.. actually i think she is selfish by nature!  (who's not, but her selfishness is overbearing) so far all her priorities seem to be revolving around herself, though she can be nice and friendly when there is no conflict of interests.

 

yah it's quite sad at first when she says "will u still be my friend if i lost all my friends etc".. but i think twice and actually felt annoyed at this selfish statement. was thinking shes indirectly blaming everything to the media environment when she CAN choose NOT to be greedy and yet she still expect people to support her despite what she does!!!! some people really liddat in real life, thats why i can relate so well hahahas~

i feel for jeanette aw character zhao fei er too. she was genuinely nice and innocent at first, but environment changes her. how she got looked down by everyone when she was C-list and got trampled on by people better and more powerful than her instead of guiding her. worst her father maligned her and extorted money from her instead of giving her love. so she told herself she has to be better and stronger and no one probably told her whats right and whats wrong and she made decisions based on what could have let her move on and be better.

this drama serves as a warning to whoever who thinks this world is all about fame and status. she probably developed some paranoid syndrome thinking people keep looking down on her STATUS rather than personality. Yes the father is a jerk, but to blame on circumstances it will never be ending. the father had it no better either.. we can also say he is victim of circumstances, thats why he needs to gamble.

I think you are the surface level person. SO what if he's from a negative environment? So if iskandar very pitiful oh we should pity them for their crimes? Look at Rebecca Lim, she is just outstanding in this show, she is consistently outstanding through out the whole episode, the role that she played is not the eye catching type, but she is able to steal a lot of lime light from the rest of the actresses, she is my choice for best actress.

 

As for Zoe Tay and Chen Liping, what else can we say, they are both experience and good actresses, they have acted within our expectation.

 

For jeanette aw and Rui En, some parts they act very well but some parts not so well, a bit inconsistent in their acting. But i do see some improvement in Jeanette's acting.

 

All the 5 actresses are the winner actually, as they are the talk of the town now.

Rebecca's acting is naturally not very Ch8 really, so the urge to dramatize every last word or embellish every expression (like maybe CLP) isnt given in to. But geniusly enough, this just seems to perfectly coincide with how we believe Lisa should be: confident, relaxed and unfettered. She just fleshed out the one-dimensional Lisa by toning it down and letting Lisa just speak for herself. Her part of the plot itself however is weak. 

 

As for whether she'll be nominated for Best Actress really just depends on whether she's even considered a lead in this show. Maybe not.

Zhang Zhen Huan is extremely soft spoken, if you like that type the good for you

DYT has a slight arrogance air about him but isn't that what makes him more attractive?

The only other China actor before the 715, DYT was Chun Yu Shan Shan who acted in quite a no of good dramas (back then when Mediacorp was still producing good period and nostalgic dramas) and he was lead in a no of serials though most times was second lead

He is doing quite well back in china now

Frankly, I think if Mediacorp does not have budget to make period dramas like the China and HK counterparts, it will really be a waste of all the talents to carry on acting for their productions

Desmond is simply too young to be compatible with Jeanette Aw. Jeanette looks aunty next to him.

 

Desmond will be more compatible with Rebecca, and Shaun with Jeanette. Last but not least, 715 and Ruien.

Am surprised, was expecting the limelight to be hogged by Rui En and Jeanette but like what some have pointed out, their acting turned out to be inconsistent, some parts good but other parts they come across as forced (Rui En) or one-dimensional (Jeanette) and most of all, there isn't any sparks when they share a scene. In contrast, Zoe + Chen Liping, has very good rapport (i suspect it's also due to the fact that they have real-life chemistry as old-time colleagues of many years) and their acting scenes are much more convincing.  I personally found Desmond to be very hot but don't really get his character, Shaun is ok but I don't find him charismatic personally, Chen Hanwei is totally forgettable in this show.
