Ann Kok is probably the most high profile case of failing overseas but she is still considered a successful actress in Singapore. But it is a FACT that Ann failed overseas - something she acknowledged herself. I'm just making a point that you think its so easy to make it overseas? The only ones who really succeeded are Christopher Lee and Fann Wong. But the only reason why they made it is because they came out during a time when China's entertainment industry wasn't dominant yet. So they were able to get leading roles in Taiwan and China productions during the early 2000s before China showbiz bewcame super competitive. Same thing as TVB artistes. The TVB artistes who made it overseas are those who came out during the 1990s like Charmaine Sheh and Ada Choi. Those newer TVB artistes who tried to make it in China mostly failed too. The TVB artistes who made it overseas are those who came out during the 1990s like Charmaine Sheh and Ada Choi. Those newer TVB artistes who tried to make it in China mostly failed too. There’s actually a lot of artiste management agency now in Singapore. These external agency have strong connection with many on-demand channel.
