The working culture in Chinese production teams is not as straightforward as in Mediacorp. Till the day you complete filming, there's no guarantee you would be playing the character. And even then who knows what the editor might do to your scenes. I hope the writer kills off the character, then DYT can go fly kite. No point staying in mediacorp, its like working as a civil servant and no new blood in the whole organisation - zheng geping, xiang yun, chen liping, all overstayed, acting from young to current, and appears to be unable to change job. Many failed to see that this is a creative industry and one needs to constantly have new blood to revitalise the scene. Back to DYT or whatever. Staying in Mediacorp is pointless becoz there is no future in Spore's entertainment circuit, its too small, and the pay is very stagnant. But it will be very competitive for him to be able to make it big too in China, where there are tonnes of talents, better acting skills than he is and better looking than he is. abang Posted October 6, 2013 Report Share Posted October 6, 2013 To be honest, DYT or DXY is so one-dimensional.Good thing that his role in Little Nyonya was brief because he may have the looks but definitely not the acting skill.Unlike his fellow Tiong (715), he has not improved his English proficiency and be more media-savvy. Getting a role as 男二 means that he is only a supporting actor.The focus will still go to the main actor.His role as a goodie-two shoes wont bring him the exposure he desires.Furthermore, is that serial going to be shown NATION-WIDE or just a local station only. Recently I had been seeing older excerpts of him including Shanghai.All I can say is that DYT/DXY isnt a good host and he is VERY STIFF in front of the television.He sounds as if he is merely reading the lines out of the script - lacks personal touch. A big deviation from the usual RE, JP, TPH, XYW etc. What's interesting most is Xu Bin. Really good looking. And the guy knows how to act with his facial expressions. Zoe had indeed improved as she ages.. her expressions are better now.
