It's obviously fake as hell... just a fantasy dreamt up by someone fantasising about Elvin and Romeo being together.

Personally I think Elvin is straight and as for Romeo, even if he is gay, nobody would be interested in him.

Romeo just can't make it - he looks so ordinary-ugly and is definitely not leading man material.  His attempt to grow a moustache and beard makes him look scruffy in a terrible manner and he does not have any acting skills to speak of.  He will definitely fade into the background like Darryl Yong, once he has been used by MediaCorp like a tissue paper.

Scrum is such a better choice than Soup of Life, in every aspect, such as story and cast, to be broadcast on ch 8 prime time slot.

Latest - Mediacorp's year-end blockbuster 信约:动荡的年代 will star Jeanette Aw, Felicia Chin and Taiwanese actress Cheryl Yang (杨谨华).

At 35 yo, its about time mediacorpse stop casting Jeanette in those girl's roles.

Soup of Life is a heartwarming family drama and tackles important issues such as family values, kinship and generation gaps. It's definitely a worthy drama to be broadcast on the 9 pm slot.

What does Scrum have? Just a bunch of youngsters playing rugby and showing off their bodies while at it.

There are so many better drama choices in Taiwan, can't believe Cheryl Yang actually took up a Mediacorpse drama...

This rumour about Romeo not having a big one has been flying around for too long.  Sources said that he will soon be modeling for swim trunks or briefs to prove that there is not basis for the rumour.

Chey, who cares about that loser Romeo, obviously someone here is trying to artificially pump up his profile here by talking about him all the time.

IF Romeo doesnt buck up his acting, he will be over very soon with so many newcomers coming up.

Good luck.

Why do you want to join the tour? You think you may get a chance with Alvin during the tour? It is probably Alvin's first trip to the US so unlikely that he is a good tour guide. Only worth it if Alvin is part of the tour package, if you know what I mean...hehe.

http://www.todayonline.com/entertainment/television/pan-ling-ling-beats-breast-cancer-pan-ling-ling-beats-breast-cancer

SINGAPORE – Speculation was rife in the past year about the condition of her health, but MediaCorp doyenne Pan Ling Ling kept the fact that she had breast cancer to herself.

During a routine annual checkup early last year, lumps were observed in her left breast. On March 8, 2013, she received a call from her doctor, who flagged a warning. After going through an operation, she told the media that she had had six cysts removed, but not that one of them turned out to be a cancerous lump.

“I didn’t tell people because I wanted to have a peaceful recovery stage. I didn’t want all the people who were concerned about me to get worried – once they started to ask me, ‘How are you?’ I think it would have become a burden because it would have made me feel like I was very sick,” the 43-year-old revealed, in a telephone interview.

Because the tumour was large, Pan underwent chemotherapy as well as radiotherapy. “I wanted to experience the stages, so I waited for my hair to fall. The oncologist said I should shave it off but I said no – I wanted to experience how bad it could be,” she told TODAY. “It was very bad: The floor is covered with your hair. You just pull it and it comes off in your hand. But I just wanted to at least know what was happening to me.”

Eventually, “My eyebrows were all gone, and my eyelashes. I didn’t look like me at all and I was very bloated.”

When it rains, it pours – as she was battling breast cancer, she had to deal with the passing of her father in November from lung cancer.

“Receiving the news that my dad had lung cancer was more painful than what I went through… I told him, ‘The reason I’m a warrior is that I inherited the genes from you’,” Pan recalled. “Last year, to me, was so tough – cancer for myself and cancer for my dad.”

POSITIVE AND STRONG

In spite of all of that, Pan said, there was never a point where she crumbled. “I am a very positive woman,” she said. “I told myself, ‘It’s just a procedure. After that, it’ll be all right. You just need to fight and go.’ My husband said that after all these years, he has discovered a new wife – he never knew that I was so strong. He said, in Chinese: ‘The cancer is in your body but the pain is in my heart.’ He felt helpless and that the only thing he could do for me was to hold my hand and say, ‘Be brave’.”

The only time she wept, Pan said, was when her husband, former actor Huang Shi Nan, had a talk with her older son, who is 15 (her younger son is 12). “He told him, ‘We must love Mummy more and pamper her. Don’t make her angry.’ After that, I went to my son’s room and saw him crying. He hugged me and cried and cried and said, ‘I’m sorry for being such a bad boy in the past.’ Throughout the whole thing, I never shed a single tear, but when I heard that, I cried. I said, ‘No – I am so fortunate to have you as my son.’ I feel that maybe, what happened to me has made my son grow,” she said.

“I was so touched, I told myself to be positive and strong for my family. Since they have been so supportive, I should be strong.” Also, “I have a group of very good friends. They have been helping me to keep my secret since my operation, and they have been doing a lot of research for me, like cutting out recipes for boosting the immune system. When people ask, ‘How come she hasn’t appeared on TV in such a long time?’, it’s a tough job for my friends to say I am okay when actually, I’m not okay.”

BACK TO NORMAL

Still, she refused to let cancer get her down. “I bought glasses and a hair wig. I still went to the market sometimes – wearing a mask, because after chemotherapy, your immune system is low. I still played golf, even though during the first cycle of chemo, I was quite tired and could only play nine holes.”

And now, she said, her cancer is in remission. “I’m getting back to normal. I am not so breathless. I’m getting healthier – the only exception is that my weight is not down yet.” But she is well enough now to resume work: She will be hosting an episode of My Star Guide, in which she will lead a tour group to Japan in April. And she is very excited about landing her first regular English-language role: As a majie and adoptive mother to Rebecca Lim’s character in the MediaCorp TV Channel 5 drama, Mata Mata 2. Filming commences on Monday.

“I want to spend more time with my family,” she said. And, “I want to convey this message to breast cancer patients: ‘Don’t give up.’ The reason I’m stepping up to say all this is that breast cancer is becoming more common. In the future, one in three women might have breast cancer. I think I should stand up and tell all the ladies, ‘If you find something wrong, don’t be afraid. Just do it as swiftly as you can – if you discover it in the early stage, you can recover very quickly. Just go for regular checkups.”

She repeated: “Please, convey my message to everyone.”

http://senatus.net/shareditems/13505/url/ Local actress Constance Song lands a lead role in HBO drama
Yip Wai Yee
Tuesday, Mar 11, 2014

When home-grown actress Constance Song went to a meeting to discuss a role for HBO Asia's new original series, Grace, she thought it would just be for one tiny scene.

Instead, she ended up going through a proper audition and snagged the female lead role in the show that starts shooting here on Monday.

Speaking to Life! over the telephone, the 36-year-old recalls: "They gave me 15 minutes to prepare three to four pages of lines, and even though I was not ready at all, I just thought I'd go through with it since I was already there. After that, they called me up to tell me I would get a role with much bigger involvement."

In the upcoming four-part series, which will have dialogue in English and Mandarin, she plays Angela Chan, the wife of cheating husband Roy, who will be played by American actor Russell Wong (The Joy Luck Club, 1993). The story, which looks at themes of family, vengeance and sacrifice, follows an influential Asian family who suffers the consequences of the father's sins.

Song, who has worked primarily on Channel 8 shows, adds that the series will be "a little creepy, with ghosts involved".

She met co-star Wong only hours before this interview yesterday, but already, she is "excited" to work with him.

"I didn't really know him, but I read up about him on Wikipedia and he has done some really good stuff," she says with a chuckle.

She is more familiar with the show's other co-star, actress Pamelyn Chee, 31, whom she worked with on Channel 8 drama The Quarters (2012). Chee will play Roy's young mistress.

Two other home-grown actresses, Jean Toh and Vivienne Tseng, will play the two elder daughters in the family, while Taiwanese actress Teresa Daley will take on the role of the youngest daughter.

The show is HBO Asia's second series, following its debut series last year, Serangoon Road, starring Joan Chen, Don Hany and Chin Han.

Being more inclined to date Westerners, I still CANNOT find the appeal in Bobby Tonelli..

Yes he may have that ripped body but it shows nothing beyond his narcissistic nature.

His face is a little off-putting... not exactly someone I will give a 2nd look..

On that set of photos above, I can't help but have a good hearty laugh at that few  pairs of briefs...

They look like adult diapers...

Aiyah, why dig out some very old issues again.. the saga had died down and let it be buried forever.

过去的已经过去。。。江水向东流。。一去不复返

Now we should talk about new artistes... let us discuss more on Desmond Tan, Zhang Zheng Huan et al..

Even the Taiwanese imports look delicious.. his biceps..yum yum..

I happened to watch a tiny fraction of the Channel 8 show in the afternoon.

One of the male lead (not Christopher Lee) caught my attention.

A quick google search later, I found he is Cui Peng 崔鹏.

What a waste.. Mediacorp must be blind.. 180cm hunk disposed back to China for period dramas.

He looked fabulous in this 2008 beach volleyball drama.

一个有外型的演员就被埋没了。

I often wonder why Mediacorp 看走眼。。。

What happened to the runner-up to Jeff Xu, a beauty from Shanghai.

那了亚军就。。。。失踪。

近期的“才华”冠军都不太被重视。。。还是评审眼光出问题。。。

Actors like Cui Peng can never make it in Spore. He is too 'Chinese' for the consumption for Sporeans.  He is better off in China.

Spore audience seems to prefer the not-so-looking local types of guys like Alvin Ng (big teeth) and Romeo Tan (funny looking mouth).

Sporean audience also do not mind poor acting, poor storyline, poor mandarin, as long as some of these actors have have good bodies.

Shallow audience will result in demand for mediocre actors.
