Previous male PRC Star Search winners like Shi Bin and Cui Peng all went back China. Xu Bin has the looks but I think Ian Fang and Aloysius Pang are the better actors. But frankly speaking, it is good to rush the artistes who mostly cannot speak well and the content of their thank you speeches are so predictable, politically correct and shallow. More time should only be given to those who are witty and can speak well such as the funny Vivian Lai. Love the flashbacks though, bring back some beautiful memories. Exceptions: Vivian Lai was funny (intentional or not), Chen Hanwei's speech and Bryan Wong who decided to sing instead of giving a speech. No funny antics or bizarre speech this year like Huang Yiliang's giraffe speech. Really quite zzzzz. What happened with Joanne Peh's fanclub? She seemed to be scolding them in her speech. Maybe next year they should make the artistes mimic Bryan Wong and sing songs instead making a speech, then the ceremony will be less boring. I think the stickling point is that her age peers Joanne Peh and Rui En are not much better than her yet have two BA trophies each, their performances are quite 做作 also. Agree that Elvin and Felicia are painful to watch and they will likely never get acting awards in their lifetime, but disagree on Jesseca Liu.
