Chen's performance is nothing spectacular, she didn't own her role the way Jeanette did. You can tell she's still Chen Liping playing a character. Whereas with Jeanette she really became that C-list actress and embodied all the frustrations, insecurities and troubles.

This is exactly the reason why Chen's Best Actress win is so controversial and unconvincing, she is by no means a bad actress, just that she simply doesn't deserve it for this particular role.

The problem with ou xuan is that somehow she don't play roles reflecting her real age. She is 35 this year and her roles are still those young girly 20 something type and its not helped by her annoying act cute voice and wooden acting. I remember seeing her roles in 跳浪 and x元素 and i just don't get why is she still acting cute at her age. Both rui en and joanne peh i believed has already moved on to more mature roles, rui en even acted as a mother before. IMO both are still better than ou xuan, i don't cringe when i see them acting, joanne peh's acting is still quite watchable and rui en's crying scenes is really no one can fight among the younger generation.
