I guess good news for those who missed the beta and for those who miss the game after the beta - one more round called "server slam" has been announced. It "will take place on the weekend of May 12th, starting at 12 PM PST on Friday and conclude at 12 PM PST on Sunday."

Those who did manage to get into the previous beta or bought it, is it worth getting it at the current price? Or wait till sale or something?

I have enjoyed it quite a lot actually, so much that I immediately preordered standard edition. Gameplay loop is satisfying, visually stunning, dark and gory (as the original games), and the way how the game presents story is totally new to the series.

If you are not sure, wait for the “Server Slam” beta coming in May to test yourself. The level cap has been reduced from 25 to 20 for this round and they made several adjustments based on the previous beta, but it should still give you enough info and impression of the final product.

I hope theres no RMAH like there was in d3

RMAH was a disaster… complete mess and bad decision on Blizzard’s end. Not surprising though, they wanted to make it more towards a live service game and make more money out of it.

To be frank, RMAH is not in D4, but… the overworld is practically online game with MMO elements. You may or you may not join into group activities, follow battle pass with rewards (so far they promise only cosmetic stuff) and there will be other players generally running around. Dungeons you can solo, or in a group of friends.

Anyone playing? Am on PS5 :)

Yep, couldn’t wait with all the positive reviews and upgraded my original standard to the deluxe version just to “enjoy” the extended weekend.

Hi everyone! I just returned to BW forum, great to find a thread on Diablo 4! I have been playing Diablo 2 since I was Secondary School, this time D4 is really a big bang, so much interesting mechanics and no longer the Auction house store kind of concept. Am at level 62 Sorcerer, I always play with my best friend. Now working on leveling up + improve on Paragon board / Equipment hunt so to be able to survive Capstone Dungeon. Mobs can be quite painful at that level.

How do you find the endgame content? I finally managed to push through the main story and I think my character build took a wrong turn somewhere along the way, because I suffer more than the people of Sanctuary and die all the time. I mean I love the amount of content that opens, I enjoy continuing exploring the map, doing side quests and even hunting Lilith’s statues, but thanks to the level scaling, I feel like I am still the same weakling that started the game, half naked in the snowy cave. And these are not even the end game activities; Capstone Dungeon to open higher world tier? I can keep on dreaming, right? Haha

Hello! I find Blizzard really shifted the whole concept of the "Auction house" and "repetitive running from Act to Act to something more Objective and Adventures. They seemed to have some positive unknowns to be released in the future. So far I enjoyed a lot!

It is really challenging, I have been playing with my bestie using Discord, he is Druid while I am using Sorcerer (good combination thou!), We managed to pushed through Capstone at level 65, we kept dying at Elias... I was frustrated but excited as well, so we crafted party buff and geared up more DEF and Fire resistance to bring him down.

Ya it is open higher world tier, impossible to solo alone, I wasn't so sure about the game mechanics initially, my bestie is hardcore gamer and he goes into understanding the full game mechanics, so I learned a lot from him as well.

You can do it de, focus on the correct Aspects for the dynamic kind of build you desired.

All the best!

Diablo Immortal's storyline takes place between 2 and 3. Diablo 4's in the future after 3 & Reaper of Souls.

D4 comes with a lot of graphical tweaks so it should be playable on Lenovo Go fairly easily (same like Steam Deck where I get nice 60fps all the time).

Not really a proper VR game though utilizing any functionality of the platform, but the immersion of using headset instead monitor will be there. As for Beat Saber… well, good luck with that. I am still returning to it several years after release. Nothing can dethrone that experience, haha.

Just saw the new D4 expansion announcement. What do you guys think?

Low key realized that they gonna do a multiple expansion on this entry of Diablo. The new class reminded me of a mix between Druid and Rogue, but we might get a return of the Amazoness from Diablo II.

How's the new season working out for everyone? I'm currently trying out the druid class... i'm not really impressed tbh.

What is the current season mechanic so far? I might play a different class this time around.

is it still good to buy the base game only for now, without the dlc first?

never played diablo before, but played similar games like last epoch

You can always try, especially if you will find it discounted somewhere (for example on Steam right now). If you like ARPG, it boils down to personal preferences. D4 can be sometimes almost self-parodically gritty and dark and over the top bloody, and that may not appeal to everybody.

When it comes to game features without the DLC, all the improvements, plus the item/leveling rework coming with the DLC, will be part of the base game.

If you will want to experience the new class and the new region, (plus additional features, like mercenaries, runewords), or have interest to see the story continuation, then you will need the DLC.

Bought it last week and manage to level up to 20 in like 3 hours.

really like the gameplay and the story so far.

thinking if i should buy the dlc now or after finishing the main story.

is it weird that i kept receiving random voices from other players during gameplay?

The game is practically MMO with a single player component sitting on top. So, you share the overworld with a lot of players.

Never had this problem myself, but maybe you can check the voice chat settings, if you don't have it permanently on.

As for the DLC, if you like the story and if you are enjoying the game you can still go all the way to the end without the DLC, but the main story line is of course leaving door widely opened for the expansion - it will simply continue from where the base game ends, so you may make the investment and get it already for a seamless continuation. Aggregated review score is quite nice anyway.

I dont care much about min/maxing or endgame, but I cannot wait to return to the game and continue the story tomorrow when it releases! Plus, the new region, haha!

havent met any players during gameplay, maybe since i'm still not far from the starting map.

i guess i will just get the dlc after your recommendation and the positive reviews, opportunity cost too.

ooh as for the multiplayer aspect, do people just drop in and fight a boss together monster hunter style (fight and go) or do people chitchat and and play for quite a while.

will sure be very awkward to play with strangers online.

i saw from reddit that single player can be a bit hard, is it true? or still very much manageable

As long as you finished the prologue, which is practically accompanying Lorath to Kyovashad, your character joins the online aspect. You should be seeing players around the hubs (any bigger city), otherwise, running around the map, you will most likely be alone. I rarely come across anybody, unless it is event activity, where more players flock to. But dont worry, In my hundreds of hours of playtime, I have never spoken to any of the other players. Which may simply mean that I am anti-social, haha.

All dungeons and all story missions are single player only, unless you form a party. Without a party, these activities are just for you. The DLC brings new opportunities and even a coop dungeon, so that activity will be locked behind the need to play with others.

As for the difficulty, the game is easy on the easiest one. They overhauled the difficulty system starting today, so the first 4 levels are for you to pick how cruel the game is. Told you before that I am too lazy to work on perfect build, and even then, I managed to finish the game with all characters. So, single player is manageable, as long as you pay a bit attention to your items and skills. End game activities will need build understanding (especially with the updated paragon system) and some activities bit grinding or additional players. But, single player component is easy enough to be finished single, haha.

Glad that you guys are still playing this. It’s a funny fate sealed between me and Diablo. I was eagerly awaiting its release back then and a few friends of mine said they wanted to play. So I waited for them. They were so busy that they couldn’t fork out time to start the game. One friend was so engrossed with MTG and his own game that he decided not to play. So I have missed the “golden period” playing this game 😅

i think it's still not late to get into the game

i'm not sure if cause that i chose to play as a necromancer but the game is very satisfiying so far. the story and cutscenes are nice as well.

really into the skill system and grateful that you can just refund the skills that you dont like, the cosmetic system is nice as well so you dont have to stick to the armor that you're wearing. the game is not too easy but not too hard, i used up potions and escaped from monsters a few times haha

i juggle mtg and video games as well, and so many shows that i'm watching, plus monster hunter wilds is releasing soon (excited for the demo)

hopefully i can get whatever i can get from this season of diablo, i think until next february.

Been playing previous versions of Diablo on PC and Mac. Then played Diablo on Switch.

Now wondering if I should get a handheld PC console and play Diablo 4 on that.

I’ve been trying to get into the wizard meteor build. It’s flashy graphic wise but a lil squishy.

any recommendations for other builds? Also, anyone tried the spirit born toon?

Thanks for sharing about the classes and build guys. I finally placed my order for the game during 11.11 sale together with the pre-order for Black Myth Wukong 😊

I probably will start Necromancer class first although it’s not quite what I like. But I can’t resist the game play with the ability to summon minions to fight enemies 😆

Looking forward to start the game 😉. If anyone doesn’t mind partying me, I am very much into team play.
