i usually stick to the clock, and i rarely go over time, i have to admit. i'm just trying to accommodate as much people as possible. no matter what, even though i stick to the clock, and even if i end early, it would be a few minutes at max, and won't go beyond 3 minutes. in my max capacity i have taken 13 clients in one day. but very often i stick to the clock is because i'm trying to fit everyone in, esp when 3 or 4 clients text me for the same time slot. during peak hours i don't even get time to rest in between. so if it makes you feel rushed, then here's my apology: i'm sorry, and i'm sorry it didn't turn out the way you would like.

 

and in the situation if it's a follow up treatment session, i would usually say in advance that it'll be a follow up, and when the job is done, the session ends. if this is where the miscomm arises, then i'm happy to talk about it =) for special sessions like manhood therapy or tummy slimming, it isn't always up to the clock. as long as the intended effects are achieved (such as improved blood and chi circulation), it is probably not ideal to carry on beyond what is necessary.

 

yes sometimes i am late as i have quite a handful of outcalls, and traffic isn't always within command. and i will be late when the previous client is late, and this is a domino's effect as much as everyone tries to be on time as i usually have less than 10 to 15 minutes in btwn appts. Recently there's been family issues as well and i'm totally fine if people decide to leave and not come back if they think i have caused them inconvenience / short changed them / or for being late. in this line of work, we gain some, and it's inevitable that we (speaking for fellow masseurs) lose some as well. perhaps in the larger scale of things, there's just some other masseur out there who's better for you. i have lost clients before (3, to my knowledge), and they have made it known to me the reasons. if they think that i didn't respect them enough and they have decided to move on, then so be it and i wish them well. since then, one came back and i'm glad he gave me the chance to reconnect with him.

 

and when i sing, it means i'm comfortable with you and i don't do that with everyone. then perhaps i was wrong to think that we got to the chummy level. lol my bad for assuming though. 

 

also, i wouldn't know who you are. if you'd like to message me personally, it'd be very much appreciated. i'm also fine if you don't =) and i'm always happy to keep mum. lemme know your preference and i'd be happy to oblige. it's just like tonight, i have to cancel two appts because a good client of mine passed away two days ago, and i'd like to be there for the wake as the family has decided to keep it short, and sending him for cremation tomorrow afternoon. i have given the reasons, and it is up to the clients to make of the situation; i can't and will not tell them what or how to think / decide.

 

meanwhile, thanks for giving me a chance to clarify certain points too and i hope the rest of all you good guys out there who're reading this, to just tell it to me personally if i've done things that irk you. it is never in my ill intention to cause any discomfort.

In some places, the masseurs even start an alarm timed for 60min duration, that's what i call good service. i understand that we should give or take a little at times, but not all the time. Most people wud not mind 2-3min of mismatch,  but when it hits 10-15min, then displeasure grows.

it started at 7am and ended at 2am. that was the max. since then, the max i would limit to under 8 or 9. some are treatment sessions, not all are massage. a large part of my practice are treatments revolving around 跌打, 调骨. if i'm doing mainly massage, then yes i would put in more time in btwn clients as they need to change up, shower, etc.

 

also, if it's 10 to 15 minutes, that's usually a follow up treatment session and it's usually only about 20 to 40 minutes, and never the full hour. if you realized, i don't charge $65 for follow up sessions, and it is always prorated. what i'll do in the future is, i'll always ensure that i set the expectations right so people won't feel what you felt. i guess it isn't nice coming in expecting a full hour but to find it being done within 30 minutes. truth is, i don't want to take a full hour to solve your issues if it takes me only 10 to 20 minutes. that's just not right. i'd rather solve your issues, earn less, and move on to the next client.

 

part of my goal is to make better treatments available and more affordable to the general public at a price that's much lower than the establishments out there such as Ma Kuang or 拳器道. hence no matter what you don't see me raising prices for treatment sessions. $45 for lower back issues, and $35 to $40 for other issues, which is way below what the establishments charge. i have had people hopping over from a nearby hospital's a&e cuz they took forever to fix a dislocation and frankly speaking whoever's on duty had no idea what they were doing. sometimes if the follow up treatment is less than 10 minutes, i don't even take a single cent. 

 

i don't dare say that i provide good service all the time. there were times i know it was not as good as others, and being frank here, i'm not a robot. i give my max at that point in time and if that max isn't good enough for some, and if i lose the person, seriously, what can i do if they choose not to come back? at the end of the day, as much as it is a service that i provide to everyone out there, it is also a business. you gain some, you lose some. so i think it is a good chance to tell everyone that you have my utmost concentration for treatment sessions - because those are the sessions i cannot afford to make any mistakes, especially when it comes to slip disc management and adjustments but if you are here for massage, i wouldn't place too much focus on your injured areas (very often, they don't really want me to focus on them too much) unless prior discussed and agreed. 

 

so, yes. i think it'll be a good practice to set expectations right from the beginning. i'll incorporate that from now on =)

 

at the same time, it is common for masseurs to give discounts to their clients without them realizing it. but over time, some clients may take that for granted. we are all human beings but i tend to be allergic to people who are anal (not saying you) and in those situations, it is good riddance. i had a client who always haggle for discounts and after a while i just blocked him completely. it's not an issue of whether he should respect my profession, or not: i don't have misplaced expectations like that. if it annoys me enough, i'll just block. 

 

i have many clients from blowing wind and all of you are wonderful =) but at the same time i also have straight clients as well as lotsa female clients coming in for treatments sessions / massage.

Had a great massage by Ming today. 

No singing. No music but is okay - easier to hear where the bones are cracking. In short, just good proper treatment and value for money.

ming massage is strong but he knows what he is doing. if you want relaxing massage then maybe not, his is more of deep tissue and you canfeel the effects. one of the better massuers i met.

New to forum, new to home based massage and first visit to Ming's. And had a wonderful session and I hope for more!

 

I have very low self esteem in many ways and very still deep in the closet but he made me feel so comfortable with his great personality, no air - no attitude - super funny.

Am greeted by his adorable smile and chunky bod when first entered (but i think he mistaken me for his previous regular LOLX!) and ushered me into his living where the massage was conducted. As i said i have low self esteem but he was able to just take it away in an instance with his jokes - love his great character. 

 

During the massage, he constantly checked on his strength (which is perfect for me as I love strong massages) and making sure I was comfortable, hitting all the right spots.  He mainly use his meaty elbow for the deep tissue treatment and really comfortable since he is big. I never like skinny masseurs as it will be uncomfortable and painful with their boney hands. His occasional teasing is really relaxing and enjoyable . Very humorous guy and we chat quite a bit.  But kinda have an aching jaw as a result of chatting with my face in the massage bed (dont think dirty)- hahaha. I wish the session never ended.

 

He have back to back bookings but I really think it is give and take. I rather have a session with an awesome guy that gives great massage than have a long session with a bad massage. So be your own judge and manage your expectations! Cheers!

Was at Ming's this afternoon. Unfortunately, there were roadworks there and have to park some walking distance away. No biggy because it was a nice walk down memory lane again. Ming is an easy going tall young bearish guy. Strong and perceptive about different body types he is working on. I was surprised he knew what I did for hobbies and we had a good chat about it. During the massage he did try to hum a few tunes but he got shy when I told him he could sing out loud and I will have no issues. He didn't, probably shy...lol...he didn't know i was waiting to harmonize with him.

 

HIs massages were strong even at the acupoints but he did check often if I could manage the pain. With Ming you have to understand the meaning of 先苦后甜. If you can endure the pain then you can reap the benefits of what he is trying to do for your body. I was honest with him that I could not handle certain points and he was gentler with those places. However, I can never understand why would anyone expect "HE" after all the torture...lol....good torture that is...lol. After the massage I didn't feel sleepy, in fact, I felt revitalized. I like the way he worked on the leg muscles. Very unique and reliving. Ming has some great massage techniques I have not encountered before. Kudos to him. 

 

I would give his massage a 9.5/10. However a word of caution for my high rating...its for those who can take hard massages. One suggestion if you don't mind, Ming; would you consider including more chest and some stomach massages into your routine. There are some acupoints there which are rather suitable to increase the vitality for men, I believe you know where the points are. 

 

Will definitely visit again. A great guy with great skills. Speaks/write good english and chinese. Very perceptive and professional. For those who love hard massages, this is the guy for you!

Alas, the time has come.

 

My friend has sold his place (which is where i operate), and i have until 1st week of July to move out (as of now. the new owner is happy to let us stay on, but there're too many pushing factors). Seeming how everything happened ahead of time, i think it's safe to say that I'm ending my operations in Singapore by end of June.

 

My plans will be, to get more treatment and massage-related certifications from back home in Taiwan for a good 6 months to a year. As such, i would need to save up and hence, there would be a slight increment in my pricing from next Monday onwards:

 

$68 for an hour (from $65)

$95 for 90 mins (from $90)

without oil. 

 

treatment sessions still range from $35 to $50 (no change), $50 being for slip-disc related issues, and follow ups (simple adjustment, or to fix a kink) will range from $25 to $40.

 

thank you for all your patronage for the past few years. some heartfelt words: i will definitely miss a lot of you. i have learnt and improved on my skill set because of you guys. now i know what pop stars mean when they say, "without you, there would be no me."

 

i would still return once every few months, and i'll be operating out of Wellaholic at Penhas Road (nearby lavendar MRT) when that happens.

Even though I am a therapist myself I would recommend anybody to him as he is a good guy and great therapist too for anybody who wanted a heavy massage or treatment massage I would recommend him aside from me. Life is such that when challenges come your way you don't go away from it but look at it straight forward and take it on. we all don't know when our path in life changes till it comes our way but we never forget our past and the people who help you get to where you are..

I've been looking for a good masseur to replace my China masseur whom had gone back and I am glad I had found Ming.
Luck has it, he had just moved to Bugis which is easily accessible with public transport.

 

Some members had message me and asked me which masseur do I go for when I need a massage, since my Chinese masseur had gone back and my other regular local masseur had stopped his service, I would like to recommend Ming, if you prefer hard, finger press massage.

 

It's not easy to find a masseur that suits you that knows where to hit the right spot and he hits all the right nodes on my body.

Mind you, after years of visiting many masseur locally and overseas, I had gave up going for female masseuse because they will KPKB saying that my muscle are very stiff and hard. I even had male masseur who tells me that I am one of those customer where he will break sweat when he massage me. My most recent visit was JB last week and the Indo masseur in KSL told me my back was "Keras" (hard).
 

Anyway, back to Ming. He rented a small room in a Hair Salon opposite Bugis Junction and it comes with a standard massage bed.
His towel is fresh and since it was my first time using his service, he briefly asked me where I would like him to focus on and during the massage he will ask if the pressure is ok.
There are no shower facility at the salon and the toilet is really very small. There is aircon, but the ceiling fan in the massage room was not working, so I had to settle with a little fan on the side.

His finger pressure hits many of the nodes on my back and lower back and I was hissing in pain and pleasure of the release of the aching back and leg muscle.

Having been to many masseurs, some masseur will hit the spot but it fell short of hitting the nodes which does not get the tension released.
For Ming, I would say that his pressure is right for me and he told me that I am easily one of his top 15 customers with really hard muscle.
I like that he was really professional and drape me with a towel when he is massaging.

The session ended after 90 mins and I was given water to drink.

 

I went back, had dinner and by 8, fell asleep without realising and woke up just now to take my shower and type this post.
 

I would go back soon after my body recovers from the aches I am feeling now. I feel less stiff and more relax after a good sleep.

means aligning skeletal structure that might have been misaligned or in discomfort, to maximize or to return to normal range of motion without pain

Most of what i do, you can see in the famous Cris Leong's video. just that i'm not as dramatic, and some maneuvers i do it differently.

it is usually incorporated into my full hour massage at $65 an hour. But if it's for a session that's mainly re-balancing and adjusting the hip with its off-rotations (resulting in Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD / LLI, I for inequality)), it'll be $48, which will last anywhere btwn 25 to 40 mins. follow up sessions will be $33 to $38, and are usually shorter duration in nature.

 

An extensive session for shoulder imbalance will be $44, and includes relieving impingement, and re-aligning your upper body as much as possible. Follow ups will be $30 to $35.

Just try Ah Ming massage for my first time. What a powerful massage! it go deep inside my sore muscle due to sports. He also help me adjust back my tennis elbow injury ....

My 2nd visit happened before he left for Taiwan. He suggested I go for 1 hour instead of the 1.5 hrs I requested. Few minutes into the treatments, he informed me that my body is getting better. He felt that it's not as stiff as my first treatment. 

Having visited many masseurs in the past, I had never had a deep tissue gluteal muscle while lying on my side by other masseur. He really works on all the inner muscular joints. My muscles felt like it's been really worked on hard and when I reach home, slept really well after that.

My 3rd visit was recently when he was back from his trip. Again, this time is also about 1hour. My body had been stressed out due to my work. Really glad that I am able to find a hard massage here in Sg. Been going JB to look for Chinese masseurs but they all ends up going back home after a few years working there. And even the good ones here in Sg, goes home eventually. So It's great to have someone here to turn to when I need a massage badly and don't have to travel to JB.

 

Tried his "Catch Dragon" (抓龙 ) massage and it's bloody painful on my thighs as he was working on the area surrounding the "dragon" to improve the blood circulation.

The last bit was focused on the "dragon" where it was stretched and tugged really well for the next few minutes. After the massage, noticed that my “dragon" was really puffed up and noticeably thicker and tingling with numbness? The sensation continues even after I went home, or was it my imagination?

 

I don't usually sing praises, but if it's good it's good or at least, it's the type of masseur I am looking for. It's not for those who wants soft massage and don't expect anything more, as it's all done in a professionally. Those looking for all kind of nonsense please go elsewhere.

Frankly speaking I dont dare to try his catch dragon with his powerful massage style.

His massage is recommended if you want to release the muscle tension after weeks of workout . The location is good for now as compared to his previous one in tiong Bahru.
