Because in a proper swedish massage, the person receiving the massage need to be in nude and just wrap with towel. We are train on how to unwrap the towel by not exposing the person private area after the person lay on the bed. There are many steps to do it including how to let the person turn over their body under the towel without exposing. On exam day, if the tester saw any exposing, they can fail you. Male only got lower part not to expose but female has 2 area, lower and breast area. In Europe, most professional massage is usually done in a personal room because you need to go nude with just a towel covered. During a professional massage, our body is seen in a therapeutic way and not a sexual way. Shorts or underwear often covers a significant portion of the lower back, buttocks, and sometimes even the legs and these are the majority area that needs to be worked to relieve the pain. While buttocks are often sexualized, it’s important to realize that the glutes are the largest muscle group of the body. So,they need to be worked as they are the middle ground between the back and the legs. A good therapist will always cover you, making sure to drape appropriately so that no bits hang out, and making sure to only uncover the part that they are working on at any given time.
