The consolation is that this is better than being young and looking old. The other party might have greater chance of not accepting GayNomad
strangeName
To me what's the purpose. Let's say you're online to find a partner, what's the point of starting out lying to your potential partner ? Just so he will talk to you and give you a chance to meet you ? Eventually you have to tell the truth. If your potential partner isn't able to accept your age then what's the point to not tell the truth to begin with, it won't work out in the end. Wouldn’t it be? For those who are entering or already in mature phase, why don't you work towards or be that one? Yes, why don't ?? This is a common goal. Hopefully most of you will be able to attain it if you start early enough. It requires education to perceive such a goal, possibly learned in a good family. So many individuals disregard the long-term thinking that they should take advantage of their youth before it goes away! (and this can be a sad way for it to go away...) Make full use of the opportunity before it advanced into the challenging 40s, ANY age is just about right for many things. Knowing what the "right things" are helps to avoid "challenges" later on. I personally never noticed any major difference between the 35 and the 40s... and the 50s. A man who remains attractive in his 40s and 50s notices an increase in the proportion of younger guys he feels attracted to.
Why?
The belief that "youth is an asset" must have had a rationale. Thus elderly people are becoming grouchy these days.

So you are becoming grouchy these days? Think again! If you are aging gracefully, you should have only a small fraction of the problems young people have. So... shouldn't THEY be the grouchy? I don't think so. I agree that we should live life to the fullest. And I am absolutely convinced that there should always be someone who likes us, even if this somebody is OURSELVES! If we still worry about the passage of time, and we want to investigate its nature, here is a video by someone who has the same concern, but... this is not necessary! Instead... have a good time! 😄

You run out of room to live if you live life to the fullest. Since you've hit your limit of fullness, you won't be as motivated. A half-empty life is preferable to one where you still have room to grow and prosper.🙄

There is no data on what the limit of fullness could be, so "fullest" cannot be taken in an absolute sense.
