Please be respectful while in Thailand during Songkran.

Actually at all times, we must behave ourselves while in public.

The guys are surely not doing a favour to the LGBT+ community.

However, I am sure such sex acts happened also between straight couples (and not just foreigners) during Songkran Festival.

I don't also give much attention to the nationality of two.

They might not give a good example, but are we 100 certain they are of that nationality?

In the social media something is quickly said or posted...

Looks like these two confused Songkran with gay pride and circuit parties in SF or LA...

I tend to be more careful with such news on social media.

There might be also a push from conservatives in that country to link such issues with the recent liberalisation drive in Thailand

and use it for their own anti gay agenda.

In fact, if you look at the person who posted it on twitter/X, without any comment he took it as some porn video on his own twitter account...to draw attention to his account there. 😂

Nonetheless, I would recommend anyone to behave decently in any country (and even in your own).

We should be sufficiently aware that sex in public is against laws in all countries. ...

I m really wondering is Songkran a gay festival?

It's not, but wet semi-naked men sure can attract gay men from all over the world to Thailand during this festival. The festival is held in many locations where Silom road being known as one of the major party spot and also the gayest spot. But it's not all gay, straight people like to go to this spot also, as it's arguably more fun and wild to party with us queens. Straight men who go there are gay friendly and don't mind being objectified. Most of them consider being hit by gay men as compliment and wouldn't mind flirt back for a good laugh. May be that's why it seems like an all gay festival. Other party locations, like Kao Sarn Road, attracts more straights, you can see a lot of skimmy girls there.

It surely did attract ME,  a gay man from the US, in some of my trips to BKK.

But "to be respectful"  I interpret as not getting angry and curse the good BKK natives who enjoy so much throwing water at the innocent passer-by,  especially if they look foreign.  I always reminded myself to not worry about getting soaked on Songkran, on wearing clothes that could stand the water and carrying my wallet in a sealed plastic bag.

By looking at the photo, how they know they are koreans? Anyway, these two gays really thought Songkran is pride day and anyhow perform oral sex on the public street.

If they seriously can be identified, probably they will get a 50 SGD ( in Baht) fine...

BKK is not plastered with CCTV as here...

On Songkran in BKK I saw plenty of displays like that of the two posted by the TS...  in many nice gay saunas I visited. :)

Why would I waste my time there in the streets?

.

I assume it would be unlawful in Korea also.

Let's assume the two guys won't enjoy any Songkran or Thailand trip in future as they would be barred to enter...
