Startup Posted March 30 Report Share Posted March 30 (edited) I really like the idea of making friends with guys of similar age. No generation gap and have lots of things we experienced before. But joining telegram group is not my thing. U know those Korean and Chinese shows where a few grandpas go for a trip together. It would be nice for us to organize such a trip. twistoff8 Posted April 1 Report Share Posted April 1 I have seen many, many, many, many men (in particular) who, in the name of boredom (ie mid-life crisis), play boys, play girls, play cars, play drugs, play affair, play career change, play sticks and anything under the sun that floats their boat. It's usually just non-stop drama. I'm not levitating yet, so yes I have my own drama that I keep at home will do. It's not that easy to say - why can't you be more normal? How DO I fill the invisible black hole inside? It just doesn't seem to want to quit wanting, desiring, needing. Nothing seems adequate and everything seems too much. Is it fair to me? If life is fair, I should have been levitating since last weekend but it didn't happen. I don't think anyone knows what is the right thing to do, or when to do and when to stop. But one thing is for sure - the moment I stop looking, finding, and searching, the very thing that I desired most is or was just there but I failed to embrace it. Is my life better than yours? Are you better off than me? How do I even begin to qualify or quantify? Nah, when I realise there was something wrong with me, I thought it was the eureka moment. But immediately I fell into deeper into the abyss of self confusion because of the discovery. There is just no end to this rhetoric, isn't it? Well, my truth is that I didn't find my answers. All I could do is to understand my issues, and do the best I can. For someone who wants to judge, it's probably not good enough. But honestly I have enough plates in the air to have any spare energy for people who doesn't matter. Sometimes, the journey just have to be good enough for me... Quote Link to comment

While we may not have the answer, it shouldn't stop us from seeking answers. Maybe it's just around the corner. Life is actually meaningless but it doesn't mean we can't add meaning and purpose to our lives. We are actually in a better position than when we were young to understand life better. We are no longer held hostage by our raging hormones to seek external gratification. So we are better able to quieten our hearts to actually listen to it. More importantly, we now have the space to seek spiritual pursuits. The world right now seems going crazy, but we are very blessed to be born and living in Singapore. It's very peaceful and safe compared to many countries around us. Take time to connect to the world around us in a more spiritual sense. Do you know that we are now in the midst of the spring equinox? The exact date is late March but more significantly it signifies the beginning of spring. It's the time when people take time off to detox and reset themselves. It's not just the Muslims who do it. We like to think that we conquer the world but it's better to think that we are the world and how we should live in harmony with mother nature. Take time to appreciate it and understand it.
