Guest Caught my attention

I am not gamesome and I don't watch world sports event.  However, what caught my attention and just this alone, is the world is making storm out of some creative art piece

lastsupper.jpg?resize=990,557&ssl=1

They claimed that the artwork above bears resemblance to a creative work by Leonardo da Vinci, representing the Last Supper in Christianity. However, no one lived 2000 years ago to accurately describe what the Last Supper looks like.  The bible describes it as being discreetly held in the upper room of a small lodge, lit by a few oil lamps. Twelve disciples, well clothed, sat casually on the floor, and the only food served was bread and a bottle of wine.  Don't these western critics ever read their bible at all?

I like the one on the left: Lian Junjie.

Used to jerk off to his diving pics and videos.

As a non-Christian, I find this extremely disrespectful.

Just do your Opening Ceremony and leave religion out of it. Sheesh. Is that so hard?

Paris seems like quite a poor host.

Can see many complaints over accommodation, food, certain competition venues and the overall organisation.

Opening ceremony wasn’t impressive too and got many backlash instead.

Tokyo was a good host last olympics despite being in the midst of pandemic. And i rmb Beijing opening ceremony was really impressive.

You get upset over so little?  France is a Christian country.  Have you heard of the Notre Dame cathedral?  The painting of da Vinci reflects the IMPORTANCE of the event.  We see images of Gautama Buddha all over Asia.  Yet, they cannot reflect reality since no photos of the Buddha were left behind, not even of his driver's license. 😀

You have amazing observation qualities. Who would be looking in this busy image for hanging out testicles?  Yet, you found it!  And in the real Last Supper, with 12 men without modern briefs on, casually sitting on the floor, who knows if testicles may not have been seen...

Without the night lights over all it's buildings and colorful drones on full display in the night sky, courtesy of China, Paris will not look so stunning on its opening ceremony.

The purpose of the Olympics is different from New Year celebrations with their pyrotechnics and light drones.  Instead, it is an athletic competition between nations.  Any medals expected by Singapore?

introduced south korea as north korea

played sudan national anthem for south sudan,

what's so religious about this? why everybody assume it is the last supper?  even Leonardo's painting of last supper was allegorical and not real, a fantasy painting.  go read find out what the Paris opening ceremony skit was about before making assumptions.

China end US Olympic reign over men's 4x100 medley relay

The United States' 64-year unbeaten run in the men's 4x100m medley ended at the Paris Olympics on Sunday (Aug 4) as China swept to a seismic win at La Defense Arena.

I watched the medal ceremony late last night. Can only say racism is real.

The US male swimmers dun even bother to make eye contact or extend their congrats to the chinese swimmers, but instead went on to hug the french swimmers (in 3rd place), quite deliberately.

Two of the chinese swimmers seem to want to initiate at first, but I think they get it quite fast and knew that the US guys were ignoring them on purpose.

Though I dun support any of the teams last night but was quite disgusted watching it live.

Don't brood about it.  Winner should not hug or shake hands with loser.

But the doping tests could be improved for Olympics also the mechanisms of reporting. In fact, the management of Olympia is simply scared to discover just too much on doping which taints the image.

For the future I predict also DNA tests.

This Olympia there seems to be a lot of discussion on gender...

We should also not forget China is a big country with a huge population. surely, it contributes to bring out more sporting champions.

However, it is also a fact that China is using illicit boosters.

Here from the last Olympics. Just a glimpse:

23 Chinese swimmers had tested positive for trimetazidine (TMZ), a heart drug that can be used to boost performance, months before the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Sports/Chinese-swimmers-past-positive-doping-tests-haunt-Paris-Olympics

Many of them took part in Paris once again. Actually, all of them should have been banned.

However, that would have meant an admission that the medals won in Tokyo were obtained unlawfully.

We just have to be realistic, that there is no 100% fairness and doping happens...

What  makes you think that the hosting country did not add "ingredients" into your foods and drink and than tried to set you up?

For the Chinese swimmers in 2021 the tests were conducted in January 2021 , 5 months prior to the Olympics. It was discovered in China by Chinese officials but never reported to WADA.

Quote:

During Monday's press conference, WADA officials said the 60 urine samples were actually conducted by Chinese sports officials months earlier at a swimming competition in January 2021.

Don't pick and choose.  WADA have more findings about Americans getting away with positive urine test and threatened to ban America from hosting 2028 olympic.

But the issue in the US lies different...

US anti-doping authorities have been slammed by the World Anti-Doping Authority (WADA) after it was revealed the Americans are allowing drug cheats to keep competing if they become informants.

WADA has revealed American athletes who took steroids and EPO were allowed to retire with their good names - and prize money - in tact in exchange for ratting out others.

“It’s an effective way to get at these bigger, systemic problems,” Tygart told Reuters. “If you’ve got agents or others who are preying on athletes and trafficking … I think it’s totally appropriate.”

Looks like a sort of encouraging whistleblowing to me.

However, those caught by USADA should be banned for big competitions such as Olympics. (Not sure it happened).

Surely, China is blowing this up just to distract from their own problems.

The tests actually shouldn't be done by the national "authorities" but by an independent test organisation.

But if that had been implemented I already know which two countries will cry foul the loudest...  (and it's not the US).

With the fat guy in front looking like the Rose Poseidon , I don't think it resembles the last supper.

I guess the critic came due some of to the artists being drag queens.

It is just this obsession and agitation when anything may be linked to LGBT.

Probably those hypocrites and bigots had been happier if the actors were taken from Moulin Rouge...

Interesting to note that the more recent Olympics medal winners for Singapore are all Eurasian descent...

Maeder was born in Singapore to a family with mixed Eurasian heritage. His father, Valentin Maeder, is an ethnic Swiss German who emigrated to Singapore

Schooling was born and raised in Singapore, being a fourth-generation Singaporean. He is the only child of May and Colin Schooling, and has Eurasian ancestry through his father.

China is not blowing up anything.  It is simply stating the fact of America's duplicity and double-standard when America starts crying foul about losing in the Olympic game.

You can't compare apples with oranges

China was caught having 29 swimmers doped, while the USA implemented an internal whistleblowing system to find any culprits.

Was any of the US sports men that were caught on doping taking part in the Olympics???

Here is the list of currently suspended

https://www.usatf.org/governance/anti-doping/doping-suspensions

China doesn't even bother to suspend any of their athletes due to doping. 😂

As usual there is no transparency in China.

Unless the athletes are caught by International Institutions, nothing happens in China.

But 22 out of the 29 previously caught doping took part at the Paris Olympics.

Just guess who is trying to blur things here. haha

The error was with WADA. In Tokyo they should have taken action and disqualify all the swimmers involved.

That food story was made up, who would place TMZ into food within China in a training camp of Chinese swimmers???

Anyone else quite fascinated by the new category of Breaking? I’m surprised how many people don’t consider it a worthy sport for the Olympics - showmanship, athleticism, stamina - breaking has it all.

I suppose is a bit difficult to judge as it can be quite subjective unlike diving or gymnastics. China should fight for Wushu to be included likewise is a shame that bowling is not included.
