When you can’t say no to a cute boy

This just happened 10 minutes ago.

I was watching TV in the living room when I heard a knock on the door. When I opened it, I saw a very cute, dark-skinned young man who was selling ice cream and various flavors. I decided to help him by buying some of the items he was selling. And that’s how it all started.

The story continues with me asking him, ‘Are you Indian?’ He replied, ‘Yes, my name is Manish.’ I then asked, ‘Do you stay here in Woodlands?’ He said, ‘No, I stay very far away. I just work here part-time while waiting for NS.’ I asked him how old he was, and he said he was 20. I thought he looked 18 and told him he looked younger than his age. He explained that he was waiting for his NS and was doing this part-time job in the meantime.

Since I couldn’t say no to a cute boy, I decided to buy one of his mango-flavored ice creams. I gave him $20, and he returned $2 to me. I told him that I usually don’t open the door, but I did this time because he was cute. He thanked me and said, ‘Thank you, sir, thank you so much.’

I wanted to ask him to come over, but he asked why I only bought one and not two. I explained that I live alone and don’t need that much. I was about to invite him in, but I thought it might scare him, so I decided to let him go. He thanked me again, and I told him I hoped to see him again. He was so cute and had a very sweet smile. I hope he sells all the remaining flavors of ice cream to others.

Control .. before U end up in the police station.

You are a kind soul.  I understand perfectly your actions and I would have done the same.  Except that I would have chosen chocolate instead of mango.

You didn't say NO to the cute boy, but you said NO to your deep instincts.  Good for you!

So sweet of you... kind-hearted

Heartwarming sharing

I would have bought 2 - one for me and one for him.

Many people thought you were kind and generous.  But....I see DARK THOUGHT more than charitable one.   I have a case to think so,  if the person is "not cute", will the story be totally different?

I guess cute ppl makes better sales? Isn't it.

Cute or handsome face opens doors.

Better sales comes from more opportunities of doors opening to allow a sales opportunity.

At the end of the day, the product has to be valid and affordable, the sales pitch has to be convincing and the packaging and delivery by the salesman has to be on point.  If not, there is only so much a cute face can achieve.  But it is undeniable that the first step - getting the doors to open - is made easier by good looks.

Well said. At the end of the day, the product, price and needs still matters.

I am ugly, even the back door is closed on me. I felt so rejected, unwanted, isolated. i believed TS will not want to open his door when I told him the ice cream is free.  So typical I have to accept it.

Did you do anything after the boy left and you closed the door? You like / prefer guys younger than you? 😜

DARK THOUGHT?   Is this your idea of sexual attraction?  If it were not for this "dark thought"  our species would have been extinct forever.

This is Evergreen Ice cream. They get youngsters especially poly students to visit door to door, asking them to wear simple and tell 'sad' story of them while selling the ice cream. It's a cheapo ice cream comparable to those Magnolia block ice cream used by the motorcycle vendor. The Evergreen company will charge the student $7.50 per block while the student will try to sell it at $15 per block. Was in newspapers few years ago.

Is an enticement a scam?  This is a question we can make about much of commerce, advertisement.

If we are smart, independently of the "cute boy" we should ask ourselves:  What is IN this ice cream?   Is it more or less unhealthy?  Should we trust ANY ice cream?

I've never met cute boys selling ice cream before. It's usually those yp or ah beng type.

I have neither.  But I would not buy ice cream from a street vendor. Not a cute boy but an adult man has always picked up the ice cream he likes from the freezer at the food store.  And he likes the one that has the least emulsifiers and strange components.  These emulsifiers, that prevent the ice cream from becoming rock solid, when they reach our small intestine they dissolve the mucous membrane that covers its lining,  something unhealthy.  This is why I have cut back drastically on ice cream...

But the cute boy only works with gays and some mid age - older age aunties (who don't have that tight budget), any straight guy will probably bang the door.

Anyhow for those straight guys the cute boy might nave a different approach (playing the poor fellow telling a story that he has to work because etc...)

You can't call it a scam, it is marketing.

Hopefully, there is no gang behind the sales ripping off the door to door sellers.

A police officer once told me that the tissue sellers around here are belonging to "gangs" also, who even fight on the territory to place the handicapped, elderly at certain spots. There are people behind them who collect the monies they receive every day.
