that won't work at all. Because of a simple reason: Singaporeans are always looking for the very best in looks, body shape, age etc. Anything below their perfect category won't do. Singaporeans are the most (over-) demanding in looks, body shape etc when it comes to a sex partner.

The sex partner can't be even perfect he must be 250% perfect.

A Singaporean would wait until his dream sex partner will come along, even when he never meets him but dies before that happened... 🤣

That culture is the same as for example with landlords here waiting to rent out their property to a certain elevated rental at their thinking, even if the flat is empty for 1 year.

The worst on these guys is actually, that they missed to ask their Singaporean gay friends whether they have good looks, because some of them wouldn't even match the prawn quality but still chase the super perfect looking guy...

I used to find men from other countries exotic and hot, but I still find it easier to communicate with a local guy. Maybe, its just less of a barrier in terms of having similar language and cultural backgrounds. Just feel more comfortable, at ease and relatable. So I guess the communication aspect is still an important part for me in meeting guys. But that being said, while its easier to communicate with Singapore guys due to similar spoken languages, I do feel that men from other nations tend to be more easy-going, kinder, polite and humble.

If you read more carefully what i had written, I wasn't talking about every prawn, but just a specific loud and fugly local late middle age prawn clique with equally fugly, disgusting behaviours.

 

I did touch on some of their excessive and unreasonable behaviours, which are as fugly as their looks. I don't want to name names, but you could easily guess or identify which group I was talking about, if you have ever come across or encountered them.

 

It is not really that particular clique's looks that are exactly the offence. If you couldnt already tell, it is their offensive and eccessive, ugly behaviours.

I like the new tone of your last post, with humor and wit.   I also like some reactions to your previous posts.  You have all the right to feel like you do,  and don't be affected by the prawns.  If you had been somewhat vulnerable to them, you hopefully developed a stronger shell.  And adopted an attitude  " live and let live ". 

 

The way our behaviors seem to have a realistic cause, product of our nature,  makes me doubt that there is some supernatural being watching our actions and keeping a list of "sins".  The biggest SIN would be that of any supernatural creature that has made us with the possible defects, design flaws, we may have.

Prawns or not here are some personal observation. With regards to our bodies, we have control over it. We can train, workout, develop the muscles, and sculpt our bodies to the way we want with discipline and effort.

 

As for the face, we are limited by genetics, and unless we undergo plastic surgery, there really isn't much we can do about it. Certainly we can enhance with botox or under facial fillers, good skincare routines, etc. but nothing is going to change it drastically like plastic surgery. 

 

Regardless if you are a prawn or not, you do you. You don't have to explain your choices to anyone, nor do you owe them an explanation. If people think you are vapid or grotesque, they are entitled to their opinions, and what they think has nothing to do with you.

European men are also not uniformly or more masculine looking than Asian men. Mediterranean and Southern European men may tend to look that way with their darker skin, chiselled, square jawlines, facial hair and tall, broad builds. In more northern parts, especially the capital cities, many straight men dress more stylishly, more put together and more "gay", with colorful patterned scarves, accessories, brightly colored leather loafers and man bags.

The description above, actually applied to many Singaporeans, males and females.

Many Singaporeans are entitled and arrogant because they are simply born a Singaporean (and therefore had 'worked hard'), and therefore more superior than many other nationalities around them, whom are either poor or blue-collared.

Maybe this "conservative" moment was simply used to achieve something (or refrain from something). It sounds like this excuse that was broadly used here as "Asian culture".

377A was only repealed two years ago. I am pretty sure there are many gay people now who are still planning on getting married to the opposite sex to please their parents.

 

Why? Beyond other inconveniences and reasons, there are still no same sex marriage, surrogacy and and adoption rights here for gay people. Lol

 

Not forgetting, there will be gay people who married the opposite sex before the law was repealed in 2022.

 

The laws, policies and social structures here are conservative. Just look at our media policies, sexuality education in schools; the lack of same sex marriage or civil union, anti-discrimination and employee protection laws here.

 

Primary schools, after repeal of 377A, now teaches that being LGBT is a "choice" that has to be respected and treated like everyone else, updated from it being a crime before the repeal.

 

Now there's a potential slippery slope.

 

Instead of recognising homosexuality as natural and inborn, it is currently still being framed as a choice; like food, fashion and lifestyle choices that may be consciously picked to be tried and experimented with; and furthermore, it has to be respected.

 

I imagine some sexually unawakened but curious - future - straight kid may think it cool to experiment with or try gay sexual acts with his school buddies, a paedophile gay relative or even worse, strangers, since school teachers said it is a choice to be respected and treated equally as everyone else, even though he is not going to turn out gay after puberty.

 

That is the kind of PC sitting on the fence narrative formed by combining discourses - "being LGBT is a choice" from religious conservatives, and "respect and equal treatment of LGBT people" from pro-LGBT liberals - from both religious and LGBT camps to please both camps.

 

It's harmful and damaging, like the equally hypocritical "love the sinner, but hate the sin" Christian stance about LGBT people. We all know it is impossible to separate LGBT sex acts from LGBT individuals, as short of enforcing celibacy on LGBT people, there is already overwhelming scientific concensus that they stem from both innate sexual orientations and identities that cannot be wilfully altered.

 

Those European countries you have mentioned are quite socially conservative, family oriented and/or religious - but hey, at least Greece legalised same sex marriage this year! Singapore being not more conservative than them is not a compliment. Try comparing with Spain, Germany, UK, France, The Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland, etc.

 

Apart from the gen Z lads in daily normcore or street wear, European dandy men in fashion capitals and certain affluent, old money enclaves still dress pretty flamboyant, colorful and "gay" to this day, with all the eye-catching men scarves, accessories, hats, loafers, etc. Check out men's fashion fair Pitti Uomo held biannually in Florence, Italy.
