Swimming trunks or triangle swimming briefs?

Recommended Posts

Since I love to expose bulge or naked or entice flirt brief trunk is my preferred and swim trunk once a while... both nice to grind each other haha

Do remember that underwear 🩲 that is microfiber like renoma or CK or Armani is NOT swimwear. Worse thong swimwear etc...this is Singapore. Don't be idiot or embarrassed yourself getting called up by lifeguard. U knew but yet u test the system. Paiseh then try to man up or cover your malu haha

If u want do it discreetly secluded ECP beach or sentosa tanjong where the is no kids. Pls be mindful. U r educated aren't u? Don't compare your travel logs experience or western to Singapore. We r still a CULTURE country.

What should I wear for swimming?

Proper swimming gear is necessary to ensure a pleasant swimming experience. When deciding to purchase a set of swimming attire, you should first be asking yourself what would best suit your usage and lifestyle needs.

Do you want to engage in competitive swimming or start exercising regularly? Or would you rather just look good on your one-off trip with your friends to Adventure Cove? Are you conservative in your sense of dressing?

This should guide you in your choice of swimwear. After which, you can focus on the aesthetic appeal - the swimming attire that will look most flattering for your body type.

1. The One-Piece
For men & ladies

For females, the most popular choice is the one-piece swimwear, which as its name implies is a single piece swimming costume that covers the entire torso of the wearer.

A variation of this, the Burqini is also a one-piece swimsuit. It is often donned by the more conservative as it covers the entire body and head except for the face.

An important one-piece swimwear would be the bodyskin, which is often worn in competitions. The bodyskin hugs the body of the swimmer tightly to increase speed and reduce drag resistance in the water. Similar in design to a diveskin, the bodyskin differs in the material that it is made of; bodyskins are made of lycra-based fabrics while diveskins are often made of neoprene.

However, certain bodyskins are not allowed in FINA competitions due to a ruling that was passed in July 2009. The new ruling requires men's swimsuits to maximally cover the area from the waist to the knee, and women's swimsuits from the shoulder to the knee.

2. The Tankini

For ladies

A tankini offers similar coverage to the one-piece swimsuit except that it is a two-piece set. This type of swimwear is considered by some to provide modesty closer to a one piece suit with the conveniences of a two piece suit, as the entire suit need not be removed in order to use a toilet.

3. The Bikini
For ladies
The bikini is the typical choice of swimwear for Hollywood stars, the trendy and sunbathers. It is also a two-piece swim suit so in this regard it is similar to the tankini except for the fact that it exposes a lot more skin.

Two-piece swimsuits like the bikini and takini allow for greater flexibility of style as the wearer can choose to mix and match between various tops and bottoms of different sets.

4. Swim Briefs
For men

Men commonly don swim briefs to the pool, which resembles its underwear counterpart. They are the default choice of professional athletes or those serious about using swimming as a form of exercise.

Other casual swimmers enjoy briefs because of the ease of movement it provides, quick drying time and the convenience of being able to wear them under shorts.

Jammers are similar to swim briefs and are also often worn in competitions. They provide greater leg coverage though at the cost of having more water resistance.

One advantage that briefs, jammers and other styles that do not cover the arms of the swimmer have is providing greater flexibility to the arm. This is especially important for strokes that require broad arm movement.

5. Board Shorts
For men

Another popular choice especially among teenage boys and young adults would be board shorts. Board shorts are a lot like longer shorts that extend to the mid-thigh. They have now become a fashion of their own, especially during summer in Western countries. They are an all-purpose swim attire that can be worn casually in and out of the swimming pool but is never worn for swimming competitions.

They are designed to dry quickly and are commonly used in various water sports such as surfing.

Usually I wear swimming briefs cause it's the only type I buy. Grown up too used to one piece swimsuits and board shorts, it's time to go smaller. It's great feeling the freedom of my bulge being more prominent and my legs not being restricted.

Honestly, as long as your trunks don't turn transparent went wet, most people don't really care too much about what you wear. Just wear what you're comfortable with, and fits you well.

I normally wear in public pool areas, cause if I wear outside, my shirt usually covers it, so people will actually think I'm not wearing anything underneath. So, best not to tempt fate.

y wld one wear a swimming brief outside the pool after swimming

Why not, it’s also good as an underwear or support wear when jogging.

Being regular in pool, seen lots of time foreigner who’s not familiar with our culture going into the pool with their underwear. For sure within minutes get call out by the lifeguards.

Please be mindful that Westerners and Singaporeans are the same sort of humans.  There are in Western nations people with much culture, the same as in SG.  And... aren't you a Singaporean?  Yet... you love to expose bulge or naked or entice flirt brief trunk, etc. etc...

And my CULTURE is not bad either.  Although I think that if you are young and cute you should not have any qualms to expose what you have, if you are middleaged or a Senior like I we should be more modest.

What is culture anyway? Does it mean what the people practice in the present or a vestige of the past that we desperately hold on to? There seems to be great difference between the two whether its west or east. The problem arises when people cannot let go of the practices of a bygone era. I mean would you wear a swimming costume that was popular hundred years ago? How did culture come into this discussion baffles me!

Have always wore swim briefs (triangle cut) to swim in pools. It doesn't feel embarassing to wear when in the pool area, but I guess one may become self-concious if say, they were wearing in to lounge by the poolside for extended perods. But it is such a common swimwear in Singapore swimming pools that there is really no reason to feel embarrassed about.

Yes it all depends on the personal comfort and the comfort of the public around!

I can tell you it’s all in the mind. Being a regular in pool. There are all kind of shapes and sizes in all kind of modest to skimpy attire. No one really cares. Definitely due to comfortable level and getting used to it. Seeing more people are more daring but don’t quote me because end of day it also boils down to your luck. You don’t get one kapo who complain about your skimpy gear or so happen that day the lifeguard on duty in bad mood. 😛 These days guards are also lenient la. Nevertheless which ever gear you choose just don’t expose yourself and embrace your own body la. Not everyone is a model beside model comes in all forms too, you just want those not within your achieved mode yet. The idea of being in the pool is either to relax or be healthy. Not to do catwalks.

actually since young, we are alwys wearing those swimming trunks that looked skimpy , eg  this : https://www.arenaswimwearstore.com/product/arena-camo-kikko-briefs/

but as i matured, i tend to cover more, from swim shorts to board shorts?

Nowadays, kids don't wear triangle swimming brief already. I've almost never seen a boy in those. Parents these days are over protective.

Can’t blame cause after all the sun isn’t what it was 10 yrs ago. Even coaches are dressed head to toe.. which isn’t all bad as it take longer for them to strip down their tight jammers, giving long time for us to ogle and discreetly enjoying the struggle. 😜

Notice getting trunks of lighter shades can be very risky as they tend to be translucent when wet esp material being super thin  these days.

Coach ain't got choice cause of the long hour exposure to sun during sessions

Same here, definitely prefers triangle trunks more to retain the tan these days. I do find tan line sexy be it the socks, shorts or sleeves. But personally prefers mine the way it is now. Even thou I bought a square and given one, but both just never seems comfortable for me to swim in. I believe will stick to triangular trunks until the day I can’t find one. I am still monitoring situations at the pool, seems to have seen 1-2 guys getting away with skimpy trunks. By skimpy I meant the butt coverage is smaller than the usual, almost like thongs yet not as close. Unsure if the guards didn’t notice them (definitely unlikely since I doing laps also notice). I know for sure they let go of guys with low cuts, as I had seen those with the tip of their butt crack showing so obviously.

Men's Swimming Trunks are getting more difficult to come by now days. I visited several departmental stores this week only to find a very poor selection. Previously love getting those from BODS, good quality and pricing was especially great when its on sale. Use to get several pairs at one go.
