ru happy in singapore?

Yes because of the family that I have now.  No because it is too hectic and fast paced.

Even tough I lived for only 7 of my almost 55 years in the US, I still feel more at home when I visit the US.  To be able to make time to go for shows, or catch a Lakers, Dodgers or Rams game or even have regular BBQs in the back yard is always a treat.  Especially when you spend the time with the boys/family.  I think, for me, quality of life was much better.  Having distinct seasons is also very enjoyable.

Oh well, can't think about what might been.  I am thankful for what I have now.

…- safety, good transportation, cheap good food, relatively low tax, clean, centrally located to travel anywhere in the world, low unemployment rate, world class in many things, ….

So why are the locals complaining? Too pampered by the Govt is what I think and have gotten too used to it...

exactly! You have hit the bulleye.
If you are not happy w your present life, do something about it. Your life, you take charge. Cannot expect gahmen to take care of you all the time. There are so many people worse off than you.

Foreigners love spore. But sporeans don't. Normal..depends on who u r in spore and what position u hold here to be happy in spore or no.

To me I'm not happy with overly crowded spore. Too congested everywhere.  I feel that spore is like staying in one room flat with 10 kids. Choking. Can't breath. The only reason I'm not happy here. No quality life here. Money not gonna shorten any queue in spore. We have to wait for everything here from buying food ,market to crematorium. Need to wait.Everywhere long queue.

I can only say to you that once you have traveled to other cities then you realised the queue in Singapore is honestly nothing to complain about. Quality of life in Singapore too is much better, work pressure much less compared to HK, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo just to name a few.

Having lived in and visited these cities many times in the last 40 years, I can assure you I haven't been paid by anyone to praise Singapore... Just appreciating what it offers.

I am not a Singaporean so I don't get any of the benefits that the locals get and yet I pay the same if not more taxed than the locals. But I am still happy living here and frankly cannot understand the complains I hear from my Singaporean friends. They seem to complain endlessly about high cost of living here, HDB, CPF and the lack of freedom! Having lived in more than 6 cities around the world, I can safely say Singapore is the best place to live..... Why - safety, good transportation, cheap good food, relatively low tax, clean, centrally located to travel anywhere in the world, low unemployment rate, world class in many things, relatively cheap housing for those who can buy hdb and of course first class n cheap health care.

So why are the locals complaining? Too pampered by the Govt is what I think and have gotten too used to it...

Agree .. at least we don't have extreme weather, high crime rates,  jammed roads, high taxes, low salaries,  high unemployment.

Oh forgot, Let me tell u after traveling around the world I'm telling this. Good example, Australia n Brunei coz this 2 countries share almost the same currency rates as ours. Dont tell that these 2 countries have natural resources. Coz I'm just telling my point of view n don't wish to speak politics here. Thanks.

As a Singaporean who has spent more than half my life abroad, I can truly appreciate Singapore whenever I am home. While LGBTQIA+ rights still requires some progress, overall, it terms of livability, it is much better than many other countries/cities.

Healthcare for example, is very affordable (as it is heavily subsidised) in Singapore compared to countries like the US where private insurance and pharmaceuticals run the industry. A friend of mine who did not have health insurance had to pay $1,074 for a bottle of eye drops, for a 60 day supply, and I am helping him to see if i can order the same eye drops from friends in the UK or in Singapore where it is less than $100. This is how ridiculous things are when healthcare is largely privatised. It becomes all about profits over people.

Happiness is what you make of it. No government is perfect, they all have their flaws, but the Singapore government is doing a better job than others.

Love.

Singapore Government offers Super healthcare Coverage to Singaporeans only. Singaporeans are fully or highly subsidy. If you are a foreigner or PR in Singapore, the medical expenses are very expensive.  Same apply to USA and other countries. Singaporean FIRST....always.

Singapore Government did a better job than other countries.

Singapore Government is giving out monies to top up all Singaporean Medisave next year...$150.00 and also giving out Medisave Bonus.

Singaporean are the happiest people in the world. Hahaha....
