Where are the secluded/hidden fitness corners?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Does anyone know a particularly undisturbed/quiet fitness corner with pull up and dip bars? I’m not in SG at the moment but when I go back I don’t really want to pay for a gym membership so looking for somewhere I can work out in peace away from anyone. Pull ups and dips are pretty much whole body movements so I think those would suffice! Of course, a gym is better but it’s so expensive at any non ActiveSG gym…

The weather in SG is crazy hot even at night and I don’t like wearing a shirt. I did work out a bit at the fitness corner near my house but it’s very well lit and I feel pretty self conscious about disapproving and judgmental stares at a sweaty guy with no decency to even put a shirt on outside 😂

obviously also if the fitness corner is secluded enough, it would be pretty conducive to some extra curricular activities with another person (or more) but that’s another topic haha.

haha I’ve only been to a gay sauna once and it was… interesting, to say the least. It was pretty nice and I had a pretty good time, but I also got jock itch from a blowjob after that visit so I’ve never been back.

working out in a gay sauna sounds pretty hot, but also it’s so public and anyone can walk in haha. I guess a lot of people like that but I don’t think I’m enough of an exhibitionist really.

If u r not ready for exhibitionist then secluded area or place or park or outdoor is not for u yet.

U need to get comfy in public settings first.....

U can always say no to any invitation at sauna haha u can just carry on workout

I’ve had an experience at a fitness corner with a stranger once and enjoyed it, but it’s different when it’s one vs multiple at the same time. I’ve also had quite a number of public experiences as well, I’m more worried about the number of people and also the not small risk of getting some form of infections in the saunas like I did.

plus, don’t really want to pay for sexual experiences if you know what I mean! The sauna was a good experience once, but not sure I’d bother going again personally.

There's one at Tanglin Halt, near the Indian Temple. The lights don't turn on at night.

Also got free parking because the HDB flats nearby are still being renovated into rental units. But every time I pass that area, there is someone using it.

So you can try your luck. It's not really "secluded" cause there's a bus service on the nearby road and that temple is busy. But quiet-ish.

Have you given any thought about working out at home?   For pull ups,  look up "pull up bar for doorway" on Amazon to get inspired,  maybe you can get one in SG or improvise something equivalent.  A set of dip bars can also be improvised, you could also look them up on Amazon to get inspired and maybe construct one yourself.  But if not,  pushups are also compound movements similar to the workout on a bench press, and can be as effective or more as dips. And all they require is... a floor.

Other great exercises can also be done at home, like the squats and lunges for the legs.  You can do these with dumbbells, or holding buckets with water.

I think I’m quite similar. I like working out shirtless and sweating it out m but it’s more for myself, not for others to watch or join in (usually).

There are a number of fitness corners that are quite conducive at the parks around Yishun. I realise the fitness corners along park connectors and at the newer BTO flats tend to be brighter.

Every fitness corner is secluded and quiet after dark (late into the night).  It depends on your timing.   If you prefer day time,  there is no such thing call quiet corner, not even deep in the Singapore forest.

or another way to look at it, most people can't be bothered. There is nothing wrong to workout topless. Pay more attention to your form and effort than what people may think of you, they may not think about anything at all.

Correct. In theory only.   To escape the awkwardness of seeing a guy your bod, half-naked, titlating around the fitness corner, I would be the first to roll my eyes, shield my young cousin's eyes, and beg my mom to take a different path if I saw that in Singapore housing estate area, under broad DAY LIGHT.  Don't get me wrong.   I'm modern, but there's always a place and a moment that's perfect for you to do your thing. This time, though, you might attract a lot of uninvited suspicious character (not necessarily gay), which is common these days.
