Vometra
Was watching this video by Dear Straight People, at 12:50 minutes they started talking about how having a racial preference is racist, to a certain extent. What about having age, body shape, behaviour preferences, among others, are they discriminatory too? In the Personals here, you have people organising group sessions proudly proclaiming they welcome all races, but must be of a certain age range, body shape, etc. Why is one not ok, but the others ok, or at least more acceptable? As I was typing this, someone messaged me and asked me if I am a "slim chn" which one should I be offended by? Please be civil in the discussion. Balestier
No .. I don't think so. We can still engage in friendly conversations even though we may not be attracted to that person for purpose of sex. It's 2 different things
ERFAbangBear
I don't think anyone's mad about preferences but to actively put that energy out there on your profiles like xyz race, muscle bod, masc PREFERRED etc instead of kindly saying no its not your thing if engaged, why can't we simply be decent human beings? Also a preference is a "greater liking for something compared to other options" but by definition, that doesn't mean you can't engage in other options too. And in some extreme cases, the cases most people have a problem with is, a straight up "no xyz AT ALL". That is no longer a preference problem, that's prejudice. I rest my case lol! jcboy18 and hairyboycunt 1

Steve5380
To like and to dislike should be separate feelings, not the opposite sides of the same feeling.

mijsdlog
Discrimination is when you block and refuse to associate with entire categories of people. When it comes to sex and dating, because it is a very specific interaction, we have to have preferences. If you're gay and can't get it up or do not have romantic feelings for a woman, you're not discriminating against women. But if you just can't stand being around women, then you have a problem.
