Guest FattChoy88
I for one do equate poppers with gays.First time I saw it openly used was in that famous dance club in Thailand 5 years back.(I was on a business trip with a white collegue.)Those guys would sniff from a small bottle.I didn't know what it was, so I asked my white colleague (who's lived a few years in Thailand) and he said it's Amyl nitrite, and that gays use that a lot. He says Amyl nitrite gets ur heart pumping fast and at the same time feel very relaxed. (Ok, at this stage, I'm assuming that's poppers)Some PLU members say that poppers are used for bottoms to make their ass muscles relax before they are penetrated.So....with all that info, what's there not to say it's a gay drug?A woman's cibai is so much looser than a man's asshole, so they don't need to use that.Regards,PS: Sorry to use the word cibai, ...I shoulda use 'cunt' instead. Guest FattChoy88
From WikiEffectsInhaling nitrites relaxes smooth muscles throughout the body, including the sphincter muscles of the anus and the vagina.[5] Smooth muscle surrounds the body's blood vessels and when relaxed causes these vessels to dilate resulting in an immediate increase in heart rate and blood flow throughout the body, producing a sensation of heat and excitement that usually lasts for a couple of minutes.[18]Alkyl nitrites are often used as a club drug or to enhance a sexual experience.[6] The head rush, euphoria, and other sensations that result from the increased heart rate are often felt to increase sexual arousal and desire.[6] At the same time, the relaxation of the sphincters of the anus and vagina can make penetration easier.[19] It is widely reported that poppers can enhance and prolong orgasms.[2]While anecdotal evidence reveals that both men and women can find the experience of using poppers pleasurable, this experience is not universal;[20] some men report that poppers can cause short-term erectile problems.[2]So tell me, who would want a loose cunt to fxxk? Like the banned sex pills, Power 1 Walnut and Urat Madu, which led to deaths. And like those sex pills, poppers can kill. The fumes from this highly-volatile liquid are inhaled by some in the gay community during what is called 'chem sex'.Abuse of the drug can cause permanent damage to health, and even death.Yet poppers are being circulated.Three bottles of poppers fell quite easily into the hands of The New Paper on Sunday team investigating this form of drug abuse.Poppers, which contain amyl nitrite or isobutyl nitrite, were initially used to treat patients with heart problems. Amyl nitrite helps to open blood vessels.Amyl nitrite is a controlled drug, regulated by the Medicines Act.But poppers are also said by some to enhance sexual satisfaction. They are sometimes combined with other drugs like Ecstasy, Ice and Viagra.Danger drugSaid Dr Seow Swee Chong, Consultant, Cardiac Department, National University Heart Centre Singapore: 'Medications like Viagra, Cialis and nitrates also work by causing relaxation of smooth muscles.'When combined together with 'poppers', severe reductions in blood pressure can result and lead to death, heart attacks or strokes.'Dr Seow advised thrill-seekers not to experiment with poppers. He said: 'My best advice... is to stop using them; and those who have yet to do so, not to start.' And not all will experience enhanced sexual pleasure, he said.Poppers are readily available at some gay spas or supplied by freelance 'nutritional' salesmen.Just ask and outcomes the drug.Out of the 12 gay spas The New Paper on Sunday contacted, five said they would 'rather not talk over the telephone about poppers'.Their standard reply was: 'Why don't you come over and we'll see what we can do for you.'Three spas we visited sold poppers only to customers who signed up as members. At two of the spas in the city, the male receptionists said they were out of stock. The bottles cost between $25 and $30 each. We saw members take them and quietly shuffle into the spa's dark hallways. If the spas run out of poppers, salesmen like John (not his real name), gladly sell you their own supply, at a higher price. We reached John through one of our contacts, and here turned our SMS within 10 minutes. He met this reporter one afternoon with a box full of poppers from various brands.John said: 'They're $35 each. If you take three, I'll sell them for $90. Don't worry, if you get caught, just say it's for aroma therapy.'John didn't stop his sales pitch there. He also offered what was claimed to be a generic version of Viagra and an exotic aphrodisiac pill called African Black Ants. His products, he claimed, are not fakes.Such claims should ring a loud warning bell, especially after fly-by-night salesmen sent men to the grave after giving them banned sex pills like Power 1 Walnut and Urat Madu. One US-based popper manufacturer claims that all its nitrite-based products are sold for ordinary household purposes. It said it is not responsible for media claims that its products are said to be 'sex drugs'.We opened one such bottle and found out that it smelled like a strong solvent. One gay Singaporean professional, who is in his 30s, said that while poppers may smell like solvents, the effect it gives leads some people to abuse it.Another user, Daniel, 24, said he was introduced to poppers by an older boyfriend.Daniel, a student, said: 'At first, I was afraid that it might impair my senses. I had never heard of it before. 'But over time, I got used to the mild headaches. And at most (sex) parties I go to now, there will always be poppers readily available.'Daniel added that if poppers are abused, it's hard to maintain an erection.Poppers seem to be more talked about now, compared with five years ago, judging by the chatter on two local gay forums. One gay lifestyle website said that in a 2006 survey, many claimed to have used poppers. They had used them for various reasons - some for the head rush, and some said it made sex less painful. In Singapore, another survey on a gay website, conducted in March and April this year, showed that more than one in 10 claimed they combined sex with drugs like Ecstasy, Viagra, Ketamine, poppers, GHB and cocaine.'Smelly socks'But not all in gay forums agree that poppers should be used during sex. Some netizens discouraged its use, saying the fumes reminded them of 'smelly socks' and that prolonged use could lead to erectile dysfunction. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) said that it is aware that some lifestyle establishments have brought in such chemicals. But its spokesman warned that, 'the use of alkyl nitrites (the chemical found in poppers) is dangerous as this class of chemicals has been known to cause serious adverse effects such as loss of consciousness, shortness of breath, muscular weakness, coma, and even deaths.'HSA added that 'with the exception of amyl nitrite, which is regulated under the Medicines Act, all the other chemicals in this class are not medicinal products'.Lawyer Satwant Singh felt a parallel can be drawn with glue-sniffing.He said: 'It is not illegal to own glue, but the act of abusing it can be illegal and punishable under the law. The same can be the case with poppers.'The authorities should step in and investigate the extent of the abuse. They may then classify the drug and prosecute both buyers and sellers.'This article was first published in The New Paper. On 11/8/2009 at 12:01 PM, chapapa said: A new liquid-based sex drug is being sold readily in several gay spas here.Sold in 8ml bottles, the drug contains amyl nitrites, a controlled drug that helps to open blood vessels and is used to treat heart patients. While it could cause permanent brain damage and even death, the drug is being sold at gay spas here, as well as through 'freelance salesmen'.Read the full story in the 8 Nov edition of The New Paper. http://tnp.sg/news/story/0,4136,219930,00.html?I would say this doesn't come as a surprise and if saunas were less obvious about it (17 especially) it would have been fine... Now that the media got wind of these activities, something will happen. Just I don't know what. Any thoughts?

snowball
Poppers and Viagra Don't MixPoppers should not be used in conjuction with Viagra or any Viagra substitute. Both Viagra and poppers have a similar effect on the blood pressure and when taken together can create a dangerous or even fatal effect. Poppers and Viagra both possess vasodilatory properties, which causes mild decreases in blood pressure when taken alone. However, poppers and Viagra are taken together, the vasodilator actions of nitrates are significantly incresed, resulting in major hemodynamic compromise and potentially fatal events. PLEASE BE WARNED. If you are still not convinced about the potential risk of using poppers and Viagra together, please follow the links below for a second opinion. Mandrake
For whatever reasons the scientific community or the general agencies wants you to think, that Viagra(or the likes) are dangerous when used with poppers, it must have not been a practical opinion or simply, paper opinion. There are always risks and dangers with substances. Using Viagra or poppers itself is already a risk out of the norm.I would assume that the risks are certainly not deadly.Too much of something is always not good. Moderation is the key to life.Abstinence is self-inflicted.It also depends on a case by case basis.A grasp on one's personal health, both mental and physical is important so that you can gauge what risk you can take. Although I noticed that for some people... risk is best maintained at 0%.It all boils down to how much risk you can afford to take. From personal experience of years, I have not noticed any side effects when both are used together. Please take note that I don't use them every time I have sex. However, proceed at your own risk my friend. =)xx Edited August 17, 2010 by Mandrake Quote It is what it is, it needn't be defined. Anything, even vitamins can lead to a overdose if overly consumed, inhaled, or generally exposed to.Does anyone have an MSDS of poppers from the company that makes them? That can be of great help since it will usually state the safe usage amount and instructions in the event of over exposure. You can try pulling a generic MSDS for nitrites off the web but that would not be accurate. Since poppers formula varies, so would the effects and dose load consequences.Knowing all thing can help you determine what kind of risks you face and help you decide if you are willing to accept those kinds of risks as well as how to prevent or mitigate said risks. Guest poppers user
Hi all, those of u who use poppers regularly, do u have eye problems resulting from it? I use it about once a week or fornight and the last time which is 2 weeks ago and I've light sensitivity after using half a bottle. My eyes is now very sensitive to esp bright white lights but it's getting better. I found the link below that talks about poppers and eye damage. Please share your experience so we can know if it's a common problem here. Thanks!http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=120899

vin8tan
What's commonly practiced, or thought to be a common thing isn't always the right thing to do. I've seen first hand how lives are ruined, job lost and loved ones losing their lives to Drugs and drugs + HIV. It doesn't help that if you're a community leader (you know who you people are) and practices this. Shame on you for being a hypocrite. This has absolutely nothing to do with being open or conservative. This is the health and lives of people, people who forms the community, people who will keep it alive. If people's lives are harmed, then it's not a right thing to do, promote or condone. If anyone tries to offer you drug or forces you to take drugs, you can report them to the CNB.Call their anonymous hotline: 1800 325 6666This hotline is absolutely anonymous and your safety is assured. If you are thinking of quitting drugsYou can call the All Addiction Hotline: 6- RECOVER (6-7326837)Progressive countries are also against drug. I don't agree with death sentences, but I support rehabilitation and harm reduction. Prosecuting those who peddle or promote, rehabilitate those who have succumbed to drugs. It is possible to have good sex without drugs. I've been there and done that, and I can vouch for this.

Guest confused
Is popper against the law? How serious is it? Heard that it cannot be detected in a typical urine test.. I wonder how true is that.
suckling_pig
Possession and use is not illegal. The sale is controlled however.
