Hi guys, i need some help here to solve the following. Hope someone here can help me! Thanks in advance.

Singnet Internet Connection -> Netgear Modem -> Linksys Wireless Router

Hardware Equipment (eg. Netdear Modem, Linksys, Network Printer) using Cable connect to Linksys with Static IP

PC Group A using Wireless Adapter connect to Linksys with Dynamic IP.

PC Group B using Cable connect to Linksys with Dynamic IP

All PCs can connect to Internet.

I do the sharing of a Local Color Printer in Group A thru the PC, the rest of the PC in Group A can print. Since is using Dynamic IP, I got problem after a few days. I tried adding the printer again using Computer Name instead of IP but sometimes can print the next few days cannot again.

I tried using a Static IP for the PC that is sharing the printer but that PC cannot surf internet when I am using Static IP instead of Dynamic. The connection change to Local only.

What can I do now? Thanks.

Without stating the operating system for all the PCs in the two groups can only make me to guess your problem.

Users with different OS [XP and Vista] seem to have such Networking problem to share files and printer. For XP machine, you must share at least one folder for non-XP OS to allow sharing of files. Vista offers default sharing under 'public' [which is similar to Shared Documents on XP].

To share printer, designate the printer:

01. Network Connections > Share Files and Printers

02. Printers and Faxes > Printer [Properties] > Sharing

Also, make sure:

a. In your Folder Options, enable 'Use Simple File Sharing'

b. In Services, Print Spooler is set Automatic

c. Have permission set for all the computers

d. Try to shutdown firewall and anti-virus
