I don't understand why the girl wanted to break up with the guy and married to an older fag at the end  I know she said she broke up with the guy because of his immature. But at the end, it's clear that she loved him because of his immature behavious ^_^ Why she like that??? I think she should follow her heart to love him what he is.

Think shud be the guy who broke up with the gal. He walked off into the rain after that quarrel and never turned back since.

Both adolescents were first-time lovers and probably lacked much experience to tackle a relationship, especially puppy love.

On one side, the gal wished very much for the guy to confess to her upon graduation.

On the other side, the guy adored her very much and probably wasn't even sure if his efforts were enuf to move her, even after the gal actually initiated wanting to tell him that she agreed for them to be together when they lit the Kungming lantern, but was stopped by the guy himself.

Plus, the fighting duel was organized by the guy in a bid to show his macho and masculinity, and he probably thought the gal didnt appreciate it when she rebuked him.

Even when she was dated by the guy's fren for 5 months, the guy nvr made any movement to compete and she tot that he had really given up on her.

By the time he called her after two years of no-contact in the earthquake aftermath, she was oledi going steady wif her groom-to-be d. :)

That's life i guess :) . I believe many have the same experience.

One situation brough these 2 person together. Loving each other secretly. Relationship progress as the time goes by. But one conflict causes each other to lose faith in each other. Slowly, the bond faded. After sometime, you still miss him/her but hesistated to make a move. At last, you initiated. However, you realise he/she is with someone else already. Started to flash back, regret & sorrow.

True, when you love someone, you wishes him/her happy whoeva he/she be with in the end. It's a sour happiness ending.

On of my friends who loves Koreans soaps and moons over the male stars in the shows, actually had the chance to work in Korea on a assignment for six months. We thought he would have the time of his life but he came back and said that many of the men there are nothing like the ones in the movies - they are rude, rough, curses like hall and spits all the time. We laughed our heads off and said that he was expecting too much!! men are all the same everywhere!

Welcome to reality...hahah

The grass always looks greener on the other side unfortunately :(

Am I falling for a bi?

Hmm... the movie reminds me so much fun I had in my secondary school in a small town in Malaysia. I was in boarding school 中华独中, so I got to stay in the student dorm. We always played hide and seek with the 教官 ^_^ and everyone always talked bad things behind him haha... our common enermy that time. Our 教官 was fierceful and everyone scare of him (not like the 教官 in the movie, so weak in power). Our 教官 that time always carried a 藤条, and if student kena caught being naughty by him will get the taste of his 藤条 (we called it 倚天剑) haha... :D

sigh, very tee-kee person. Tell people to go find the movie sound track then you should provide the exact Song Title mah, not a "more or less same" title for people to guess. Then why not mention that there is a song titled 手淫 or 自渎, more or less same same also wat ~~~~~ hor ?! You're Baey Yam Kheng's brother ? (Baey Tar Han !) hahahaha.

打手槍 is the correct term.

The middle C in PCC is Chiu which means hand, not water.

Can't believe the leading actress Michelle Chen (陈妍希) is so old.

She's born in 1983 which means she's like... 28 this year.

28 year old woman playing a 16 year old schoolgirl??

They could have casted Michelle Chen in a more age-appropriate role.

Alternatively, they could have casted another younger actress like either of the 黑澀會美眉s in the role of Shen Chia Yi, I'm sure they will do a good job.

The information was that Michelle had already read Giddens' novel of the same title long before this movie was shot and was so immersed with it that she could relate very closely and familiarly with the character. And because of that, she had tried her hardest to bid for the character from Giddens. But anyway, to me, she doesn't look too old to be cast as a schoolgirl. I mean, compare to Pan Lingling cast as a young Nyonya in The Little Nyonya, that is even worse!

I was shocked too when I first knew that she is 28.

She looks very young and sweet indeed with a phony tail in the movie.

However, when I see her spoting short hair in other shows, she looks quite old.

To be honest, I think she can still pass off for the age range that she was casted in.

If I didn't know her age, I would have thought she was around early 20s.

It's not as bad as in some of the Mediacorp dramas where there's obvious miscasting.

Old hag is the QFF, Queen of Fraud and Flop.

The audience are not blind, they would know not to spend even $5 to watch that trash.

Industry experts are predicting a home run for Michelle Chong's directorial debut, Almost Famous, with an expected domestic box office figure of between S$1.5 to S$2 million.

The film has also secured distribution rights in Malaysia, Taiwan and Hong Kong. In addition, it has also been selected as Singapore's representative in the upcoming Taiwan Golden Horse Film Festival in Taipei.

Lacks polish but has a lot of heart

RATING: rating_icon1.gifrating_icon1.gifrating_icon1.gifrating_grey.gifrating_grey.gif

SINGAPORE: "Already Famous" is a film that has a lot to live up to – the romantic comedy is popular Singapore actress Michelle Chong's directorial as well as screenwriting debut, and has garnered a lot of media attention because of this.

Fortunately, "Already Famous" is really quite good, though it lacks polish.

"Already Famous" tells the story of Ah Kiao (Chong), a young, naive Malaysian girl whose works as a shopkeeper in a television store.

Ah Kiao is a big fan of Singapore television dramas and is determined to follow her dream to become a television star there, so she leaves her home behind and goes to the Lion City in a bid to make her dream a reality.

Along the way, she encounters a host of colourful characters played by Chong's celebrity friends like Cynthia Koh, Patricia Mok, pxxnsak and David Gan.

She also meets Ah Seng (Taiwan singer Alien Huang), a young coffee shop assistant from Taiwan whose dream is to make the best cup of coffee ever.

The pair begin a curious relationship with a smitten Ah Seng cheering Ah Kiao on as she works toward her goal of finally appearing on television, instead of just selling television sets.

Chong's story makes many references to Singapore culture and the local entertainment scene, which allows local audiences to connect with the film on numerous levels.

It also has enough humorous references, as well as in-your-face gags to make the film a real laugh-fest.

Despite the emphasis on humour, Chong manages to slip some moral messages into the mix without coming across as too preachy.

She also weaved a few thought-provoking sequences into "Already Famous" that only become apparent if a deeper reading of the film is done.

However, Chong's lack of experience as a screenwriter does take its toll on the film, which has pacing issues and feels a little too long.

It relies greatly on the likeability and comedic talent of Chong, Huang as well as the rest of the cast to get the audience laughing and overlook its shortcomings.

But on the whole, "Already Famous" is a warm, enjoyable little film, even though it does have some rough edges.

Not bad for a maiden effort. Chong is almost certain to do better in her second film, which she says is already being planned.

"Already Famous" opens on December 1.

There's also a scene where the 2 male DHC promoters suanned Aunty Zoe Tay, saying "this aunty never gives up" (trying to be a kaypoh forcing Chris to propose to Fann).

Michelle Chong is very astute as a scriptwriter and from this scene alien, you know she has visited Blowing Wind...

Michelle Chong definitely has visited Blowing Wind.

Otherwise why would she know that there are so many bitchy AJs (like those 2 DHC promoters in the movie), bitching about Zoe Tay's auntie-ness?
